27 Chapter27: Pouching Things Up

[ are you okay onii-san!? ] Alice came running to me looking worried.

I'm standing on top of the body of the last Golem I just killed, holding its core in my left hand. My clothes are all tattered now too because of the fierce battle that just happened.

[ yes yes, I'm just fine... ] I replied to Alice immediately for I don't want her to worry more.

[ that was really amazing onii-san... you defeated them barehanded... ]

[ hmm? I think it's amazing too... I actually thought that I was going to die during that battle... ]

Maybe I got way too carried away and trusted my strength so much that I didn't feel any fear when I was about to battle them. But when I actually fought with them, fear and excitement immediately replaced all the emotions I had.

If I don't have the toughness and strength to fight with them I would've died the moment I can't dodge their attacks.

[ you're really amazing onii-san... I never thought you were this strong... you're the strongest person I know onii-san! ]

[ is that so...? thank you Alice. ] I stroked Alice's head.

[ I couldn't have done that if it wasn't for you. ]

[ ...really? ]

[ yes, it's because you help me with my plan and you sacrificed yourself, right? ]

[ but I didn't do anything after. you took care of all those Golems onii-san. ]

[ look, Alice, sometimes you need to appreciate yourself for all the good and helpful things you do, even if it's small. It will give you confidence and you will trust yourself more if you do so. ]

Alice doesn't have that much confidence to herself so I want to give her some.

[ don't just follow it because I said so, you should follow it because it is the right thing to do. okay? ]

[ now... let's look for the Elder's granddaughter tell me if you found her okay? let's also collect the core while we're at it. ]

Alice immediately ran towards the other two cores that I dropped.

[ here, onii-san! ]

[ hmm... where should I put this...? ]

I only have one bag which I use to store our foods, Alice also has one but it's smaller.

[ oh! ] I exclaimed.

I remembered that Diana-san gave me a small pouch which she says; adventurers use to store their hunts.

[ hmm... I remember putting it inside my bag... now where is it...? oh! ]

I immediately found it in the deepest layer of my bag.

[ now let's try it. ]

I opened the pouch. What I saw is just a black void with nothing inside.

[ I wonder how does this work? ]

I tried to put my hand inside but I felt nothing. I tried to push my hand a little further but it only pushes my hand back if I do so. It's like there is a limit of how far I can reach with my hands.

I put one of the cores inside and it immediately went in.

I looked inside again but I can't see the core I just put in anywhere inside, it's still void and black.

If this is a portable storage with magic I guess I wouldn't be surprised if how unlogical it works.

I put my hand inside again but this time, I felt something round. I grabbed it and what I get was the core I just put in.

[ wow... ] I think I get now how it works.

[ this is really useful... ]

I then stored all the cores inside, I also chopped the golem's bodies into pieces so that I can easily put them inside the Magic Pouch. I then went to Alice.

[ did you found anyone inside? ]

[ I only went through the entrance but I did not go inside because it's dark, onii-san. ]

[ that's okay. I'll go inside, you stay here. ] I said to Alice and then went inside the cave.

Inside the cave was dark and quiet. I can hear water dripping from inside but I can't sense or hear anything else.

[ is anybody there??? ] I shouted inside. My voice echoed inside the cave causing some small pieces of rocks to fall.

I can't properly see inside but I can easily detect if someone moves so it wouldn't be a problem if there's still more Golems inside.

[ ...here...! ] a small female voice suddenly came from the deepest part of the cave. I looked where it's coming from and I saw a faint silhouette of a body lying on the ground.

I immediately run towards her.

[ are you alright!? ] I said as I touched her shoulder to possibly wake her up.

[ ...yes. ] she replied with a faint voice.

[ alright. ]

I immediately carried her behind my back and walked towards the light emitting outside the cave.

[ onii-san! ] Alice exclaimed.

[ let's lay her on the ground Alice. I'm going to see if I can treat her a little, she might have wounds and she might be bleeding so we need to stop it first before we bring her to the Village. ]

Alice supported the girl's body as I lay her on the ground.

I looked at her head and noticed that it's bleeding, so I ripped a piece of clothing in my shirt and I wrapped it around her head. She also has a large bruise on her left arm.

she might have got hit by an attack from the Golems. If I'm like this; a normal person, I might have ended up like her.

After I treated her head and bruise, I put her on my back again, supporting her legs.

[ okay! let's immediately run to the Village Alice! ]

[ yes! ]

Then we run back to the Village again, successfully defeating the Golems and rescuing the Village Elder's Granddaughter.
