MALL TROUBLE

Her mother shakes her head in disbelief on seeing her son hanging on the ice cream cone banner. "How in the world did he even climb there?'' his confused mother mutters to herself while firmly holding Adson's two siblings in either hands. The fire brigade team is already raising the ladders trying to reach the calm and smiling Adson.

50minutes before........

Adson with a "T" as he loves to call himself walks in Arena mall ahead of her mother Dayne, his little sister Aimine and elder brother Ayden his excitement not allowing him to keep up with his family's slow pace.

"Mum hurry up I need to be the first one to own the Strange Robot toy" he says to his mother. He had won disciplined child of the month and as a reward, his mom had promised to buy him the toy he had been seeing on his favourite TV show; Robokids. He couldn’t wait for this day to reach and no bad discipline was going to stop him from getting his hard earned toy. The mall as always is filled with all shops and diffrent kinds of toys but Adson has his eyes on one toy in particular.

He is the first to reach the elevator and as careful as he can, he presses the elevator button, once they are all in, Adson restrains himself from wanting to press the number 7 and silently lets his older brother do it, and on a normal day of course they would fight to press the floor button.

No sooner had he got the toy than his siblings start yearning for other toys, Aimine begins to pull out the princess Jasmine set while Ayden has his eyes on the self-make aero plane kit. "You have to earn it to have It." their mother says to their sad faces and they know better.

"Two sad faces and one excited one are seen moving out of the toy store, "I can't wait to turn the house around with this" the excited face says in his mind, widening the smile on his face. In order to balance the mood, Mrs. Baines takes her children for ice cream before she can go for her sauna evenings, Ayden gets the chance to place the orders for being the least troublesome. As they nimble on different flavours of ice crystals, sucrose and fat globules, their mother gets lost in the social world on her phone that she does not hear the conversation the mischievous children were having or when Adson sneaks off.

"Mum Adson is going to fall" Aimine yells that Dayne almost drops her phone. They all abandon their seats and join the gathering crowd staring at the boy hanging on the ice cream cone.

"When and how on earth was he able to climb up there?" Dayne asks her oldest son. We were eating ice cream then he noticed the ice cream poster across and wondered if it tasted as good as it looked. I tried to warn him that it’s probably cardboard or metal but he insisted he needed to be sure, since you were in your own adventure, he decided to try out his own" Ayden shrugs his free hand.

"Don't move an inch, wait for the brigade men to help you down" Dayne shouts for his son to hear. Like as if he heard the opposite, Adson jumps from the ice cream cone he was hanging on, gathering screams from everyone watching and capturing the events on their small screens. He soars meticulously from the balcony on the third floor and lands firmly on the ground floor of the mall. The crowd relaxes, his mother's heart resumes its normal position.

Adson lands easily on threes, two legs and one hand, the other hand raised in air and head bowed down.

"Surrender all you have stolen or suffer my wrath" Adson says to the well-dressed man standing in front of him. The man regains his shock from the majestic appearance this young boy has put on and starts to laugh, "Seems you saw something my friend" he chuckles and turns to walk away. Adson grabs his hand and twists it with the energy he didn’t know he had.

"Ad are you alright," his mother shouts a few feet away from where Adson is strongly holding the gentleman.

"Am alright mum, but this man here won’t be if he doesn’t release the jewelry he’s been stealing around the mall" Adson says to her mum without turning to look at her, he continues to tighten his grip on the embarrassed gentleman. All this commotion had attracted everyone including the police. Two gentlemen in army blue uniform make their way to the center of attention in the mall.

"What's happening young boy........... Could you please let go of the gentleman" The first police officer asks.

"If I do we shall have a jewelry thief on the loose .Lots of items and jobs will be lost. Will you like that officer?" Adson bravely asks the policemen. The two officers look at each other in confusion the second officer moves to the boy and gentle man and Adson. "How about this, I will handcuff him and we check his pockets, if there's nothing you have a lot of explaining to do young man" he says. "So you’re going to believe the nonsense this small boy is talking about." the well-dressed gentleman complains as the policemen put his hands behind his back. Dayne runs to his son and hugs him tightly. "If you have nothing to hide, why are you carrying these around" The second police officer retrieves two necklaces from his pocket. The crowd wonders in unison, as the officer continues to check the suspect, a woman in a suit dress shouts from the crowd that she can't find her engagement ring. "It has a blue sapphire shaped like a heart, I can’t afford to lose it officer." she says.

Moments later, the engagement ring is retrieved from his right pocket alongside more precious jewelry. The officers read to him his rights and his taken away. When the first officers asked Adson how he was able to identify the jewelry thief, Adson replied and said that it was the way he smelled. His stench stopped him from enjoying his ice cream so he walked out to see where it was coming from. How he jumped to the ice cream post and where he got all the energy he couldn't tell. The officer tried to hide his shocked face when Adson said the gentleman smelled because he was sure his nose could smell his armpits but the suspect did smell as bad as the lad claimed.

having dispersed the crowd, the mall manager met up with Mrs. Baines and the children and thanked them for the job well done gifting Adson in particular a free shopping voucher for any shop in the mall.
