Joel did the same " I bet it's a beautiful woman with long vibrant hair with a name like Tyler" Haru felt completely lost, Jack and herself both read the ship's docking registration info. This captain Tyler Frost was 23 years old and a retired Federation officer, it was a great achievement in the military world. " I bet he's a Young Captain…" Haru shyly held up 20 lam and Joel clapped as he cheered " Alright! Now we have a bet with 80 lam in the pot!" Jenny was awaken by the sound of the clapping and darted a glare "Let's figure out sleeping arrangements…"
"In a moment, I would like to greet you properly first." Tyler would say as he entered the room. Nothing but sighs fill the room as Kendall and Joel lost horribly. Tyler kept a straight face thinking ' What did I miss?' he looked around the room making sure everyone was here. He took a deep breath and put a hang in his pocket.
"Welcome to the Phoenix, I'm Captain Tyler Frost. If your here right now it's because you took a job and your volunteering your skills until you reach your destination. Some of you may be here as permanent crew, which makes you Phoenix's Clan. Currently theres three others that live here prior. Pai, Kyle and"
Tyler pulls out a holo pad and types something into it. "Alright please introduce yourselves and I will hand out rooms according to your job."
Joel stands and sticks out his chest and salutes Tyler "My name is Joel Winister , I'm the new permanent pilot. I enjoy lovely views of beauties as such and also the antique beauties like the Phoenix" Joel nods in Haru's and Jenny's direction and then back to Tyler.
"Uh.. Pilot okay your room is going to be in the anterior deck, anywhere on the left side of the hall pick one of the three."
Tyler looks at Jenny waiting for her to go next and she sighs "I'm Jenny the permanent mechanic…" she coughed a little into her arm.
"Okay so your room will be…" Tyler maximizes the holopad and points to the mid section of the ship "Here in the lower mid deck"
"Sure…" Jenny yawned and walked out feeling so tired and relieved to have a bed to sleep in.
"She must be tired… and you are?" Tyler looks to Kendall as he smirks and hops off the chair. " The names Kendall , Weapons and Security is my specialty. Protection guaranteed" he put his hands in his pockets and looked to Jack and Haru as they were the last two
"Alright lower mid right hand side " Tyler said without looking up from the holo pad. He seemed to be multitasking and looked up from the holopad again. "And you are Jack correct?" Tyler minimizes the holopad to the size of a handphone and puts it in his pocket.
"Yeah I'm Jack, I'll be making the meals around here for a while and let me guess mid deck." Tyler nodded and looked to Haru waiting for her to speak; however, a yellow flashing light starts to blink through the ship. "Oh everything is loaded and it's time to pull out. Kendall could you check the cargo bay and make sure there's no stowaways. Joel you should head up to the bridge and get ready for take off. Jack you settle in, and you" he tosses a holopad to Haru from his other pocket and she barely catches it "Follow me, let's meet back up later to have a meal together." He turns around and waves "that is all"
Haru walks behind Tyler as she was ordered
She would browse the galactic news on the tablet
Once they've reached the anterior deck
Tyler would stop in front of a door on the right side of the hall.
"This room will be yours for the time being. Since you've joined last minute you still have to complete a physical."
Haru looked at the door wanting to go in and look but instead she looked to Tyler and bowed "Thank you for accepting me as a last minute recruit. I Haru Eikawa will be the best navigator you've ever seen. You can bet your life on it.!"
Tyler held in his laughter 'I really have an eccentric lot on my hands' he cleared his throat "Look, before you take over as navigator I want you to talk with Pai. He's the ship's doctor, I'll walk you there as well. But let's watch the take off on the bridge." Haru nodded and before she could reply Tyler turned and walked forward.
"Tyler this ship is a bit...dated…" she followed behind him with the holopad with specs of the ship pulled up on it
"It's Captain and your point?" Tyler stopped on the bridge and looked out the window as the ship started to slowly pull out of the docking station. "I was just curious, does this model of the Phoenix have a Navi Sphere or voice guided Navi prisms?" Haru asked while making motions with her hands in the shape of a sphere then a triangle.
"It's a sphere, a holo one." he replied
"Thats a relief, it's better to sync with it..."
Haru looked out of the windows on the bridge watching the bright orange exhaust surrounding the ship. "I've never seen anything like this before. It's beautiful"
"The Phoenix is most noticed for her take off. Not many ships expels its exhaust like this."
Haru looked back at Tyler as they simultaneously said "It's like it has it's own aura"
Tyler looked at Haru taking a good look at her. 'Her hair is really golden...so are her eyes…'
"Tyler, shouldn't we get on with the physical? I would like to sync with her"
Tyler placed his fingertips on the wall and activated a holopad on the wall and he paged the medical bay. "Pai ready for that physical?"
Pai a slender tall male with long black hair appear on the wall.
"Sure bring her around." Pai ended the call and looked to Jack that was lighting a cigarette standing next to Pai off screen of the monitor.
"Looks like your gonna find out for yourself of just what I've been dealing with this past year." He blew smoke into the air and a bot the size of a potato dangled from the ceiling and sucked up the smoke and dispensed it back into the air as a neutralized strawberry scent.
"Doctor… I mean Jack even you couldn't dig into her file? It exists but why can't we access her medical file? What if shes carrying some virus or something." Pai gave a pat to the potato bot and pulled his hair up and out of his face
"I believe, the Federation has a hand in this but I don't know why. I know she's clean but her bloodstream is filled with nano machines"
Jack put out his cigarette into an ashtray and potato bot descends down to eat the bud.
"Federation? Nanomachines! Doctor Manfred this is-"
"Shut your mouth! It's Jack never Manfred! I couldn't just leave her there! They had her locked up in there. Literally for the whole year I was there, not a single thing was wrong with her except some amnesia Yet-" Jack stopped talking due to hearing the medical bay doors slide open.
Tyler and Haru were walking in
"Hi Jack, are you here for a physical too?" Haru questioned as she wasn't expecting to see him there
"No Haru, I was just leaving just doing a survey on favorite foods." Jack lied and began to walk out
Tyler looked at Pai's facial expression and then to Jack
Before saying "Mac and cheese" he nodded to Pai knowing he'll find out later
"I like fruits" Haru chimes as well and Pai dragged his hand down his face thinking 'Of course she would like fruit. She's been in a hospital over a year'
"I got it" Jack gave a final wave in the air before the medical bay doors closed behind him
"Hello Haru, it's nice to meet you." Pai looked to her with his hands extended out.
"Hello Pai, it's nice to meet you as well. This med bay is huge" She looked around admiring the potato bots scurrying the ceiling.
"Those guys are all around the ship, looks like you're just seeing them for the first time. Follow me this way"
Pai grabbed a bot and put it in Haru's hands.
"It's...fuzzy they're very cute" Haru smiled and followed Pai as instructed she then stepped into a machine that began to constrict down to her body size.
Pai proceed behind the glass.
"I'm gonna start the process stay calm and relaxed" Pai opened up a holographic screen of the control panel
Pushing the start key. The machine started to hoist Haru up in to a horizontal position, the machine started to make noise as it sprung into action with a few robotic arms coming for the side and one from the ceiling. One arm checked blood pressure, one arm took temperature, one did measurements and one drew blood."
Tyler watched from behind the control panel with Pai "What Were you guys talking about?" Tyler whispered to him as most the tests were showing up on the holomonitor.
"Nothing gets past Captain Tyler, look for yourself"
Pai enlarged Haru blood sample results
The screen showed nanomachines mixed with Haru's blood cells and Some were completely merged as one.
"What's the off colors ones? Is she dying?" Tyler asked looking closely at the results. Not really understanding what he was seeing.
"I'll explain it as best as I can, but I'm not sure...She's not dying and it's not a virus. We believe they are nanomachines." Pai said while staring at the screen mesmerized by it.
Tyler sighed and watched the machine finish up it's work
"You have to put it in terms I can understand"
"My best bet is she's some type of experiment...Her physical is good but I still can't run a background check on her."
Haru would glance over to Pai and Tyler as she hopped up from the machine. She fixed her hair with a few strokes of her bangs.
"All done Pai! Now when can I start?" She said enthusiastically.
Tyler looked to the monitor to were Pai tried to access her background and noticed it was sealed by the Federation itself.
Tyler walked behind the glass right up to Haru staring at her up and down.
"What's the matter Tyler?" She asked looking up to him and Pai who was coming behind him in an effort to control the situation. However Tyler had already pulled her in by her collar.
"Let go of me Tyler!" Haru was startled and grabbed Tyler's hand trying to pull it off
"Why can't we pull your background?! Are you undercover for the Federation?" Tyler asked sternly not loosening his grip.
