46 Low Aptitude in Dao of Shamelessness

Lin Zheng lowered the flying boat after arriving at the land of Lin clan. He quickly went to the mission center and informed the manager about the completion of the duty. The manager gave him the corresponding reward after which he left for Lin Li's house.

"What the hell is going on?" Lin Zheng was surprised to see the massive flow of people at Lin Li's house. What surprised him the most was that everyone was carrying a gift.

"Lin Zheng, congratulations," A voice from behind awakened Lin Zheng from his stupor. He turned behind and was shocked to see the speaker was Lin Ding.

Lin Ding was with his daughter Lin Yiruo and carrying a gift as well. How could this not shock Lin Zheng?

As far he could remember Lin Yiruo has always hated his sister's guts but now she was here with a gift?

"Congratulations?" Lin Zheng asked after a moment.

"Of course! You have got such a talented nephew!" Lin Ding said with a smile. It was as if he has forgotten how his daughter was humiliated by Zhen Han. Lin Yiruo also pretended as if Zhen Han has never insulted her by comparing her with whores.

Lin Zheng thought about the Awakening ceremony which has taken place in his absence. He hastily asked, "Han'er did well?"

"You didn't know? Ah...right. You have left for the clan's mission," Lin Ding has a thoughtful expression on his face as he continued, "Han'er formed his spiritual veins within 3 hours! Not only that but he has multiple attributes!"

"Impossible!" Lin Zheng was surprised to say the least about the performance of his nephew.

What he didn't know was that Zhen Han has actually formed his veins in less than a minute!

Lin Ding has left Awakening Pagoda area before the ceremony started since his daughter has fainted after hearing the insults of Zhen Han. So he wasn't aware of the true details.

Lin Ding only knew what the clan patriarch wanted everyone to know. The crystal ball wasn't able to check Zhen Han's attributes but to prevent attention, the patriarch spread that Zhen Han has multiple attributes without specifying their names. The patriarch has also skipped details regarding the establishment of lower dantian and incomplete Manifestation.

"We were shocked as well. No one has formed spiritual veins in such a less time span!" Lin Ding proudly said as if Zhen Han was his close relative.

Lin Zheng regained his composure and he has a heartfelt smile on his face. To him, he didn't matter whether his nephew was talented or not. He would love him regardless.

"Lin Zheng, I always knew you were talented!" A new speaker arrived in front of Lin Zheng.

"Elder Zumo?" Lin Zheng couldn't believe how respectfully Lin Zumo was treating him.

"Talented?" Lin Zheng asked in a confused voice.

"Don't pretend! Everyone in the clan knows you are behind the success of Zhen Han!" Lin Zumo said.

"Me?" Lin Zheng wasn't able to understand how he was responsible for his nephew's performance?

"No need to act! Han'er indirectly confessed about your role in the Awakening Pagoda!" Lin Zumo said thinking about what Zhen Han has said after forming his spiritual veins.

"I don't understand what you are saying," Lin Zheng was feeling a headache.

"After forming his spiritual veins, the kid said that you will be impressed by his performance and teach him new Dao! The words of kid made it evident you have taught him something before," Lin Zumo said.

Lin Zheng was shocked into silence. He now understood why they were all having a misunderstanding about his role.

Before leaving for the mission, he has taught Zhen Han the two great abilities and also promised to teach him another ability if he did well in Awakening.

"Hang on! I could use this newfound credit to earn a few million spirit stones!" Lin Zheng's eyes were sparkling as he formulated a scam in his mind.

"Uncle Zheng!" Zhen Han welcomed Lin Zheng in the house.

"Little rascal, you did well," Lin Zheng gave him a hug.

"Would you teach me the new Dao?" Zhen Han asked with his voice filled with expectations.

"You might have talent in cultivation but I don't know if you are talented for the great Dao," Lin Zheng said.

"Uncle, please give me a chance. I will never slack off!" Zhen Han promised.

"Ok. What is my sister doing?" Lin Zheng asked.

"Mother and father are handling the guests," Zhen Han answered.

"Is that so? I guess we should start your teaching now."

Lin Zheng and Zhen Han left the house and proceeded towards a cave mansion owned by Lin Zheng.

After an hour inside a praying hall inside the cave mansion.

Zhen Han was sitting in meditation position on a praying mat. There was a raised platform in front of him above which Lin Zheng was sitting.

"Han'er, have you cleaned yourself with incense?" Lin Zheng seriously asked.

"Yes, uncle. I have taken bath thrice with incense and roses," Zhen Han answered. He has heard his mother saying how a cultivator must clean oneself with incense and roses before a sermon as it helps in preparing oneself mentally.

"The Great Dao of Shamelessness not only requires cleansing of body but cleansing of mind as well," Lin Zheng said.

"Cleansing of mind?" Zhen Han was confused.

"Yes because our minds are polluted by the thoughts of others. These pollutant thoughts are in the form of conduct, behavior, politeness, rules, etc."

"I don't understand."

"Before I explain...I have to check if you deserve to pursue this great Dao! If you fail the test it means the great Dao has not chosen you!"

"Uncle, I will definitely pass the test."

"We shall see. The test would be in form of questions to see if your thought process is pure enough for the Dao."

"Understood."

"I will ask a very simple question seeing your age: Suppose you visit a relative's house and they offer you a box of sweets. What will you do?" Lin Zheng seriously asked.

"I will take one sweet or maybe no sweet at all."

"Your mind is fully polluted."

"Why will you not accept the entire box of sweet?"

"Why is it not polite? Your relative is offering you the entire box! You are being impolite by not accepting the entire box! Have you ever thought how the relative would feel? No, you didn't! You just assumed it is impolite!"

"Sigh~ Han'er, you should throw away the prejudices you have before starting your journey on the path of shamelessness. I am afraid you lack talent." Lin Zheng has a heavy expression on his face.

"Uncle, please give me another chance!"

"Thank you, uncle! I will do my best!"

Zhen Han thought for a moment before answering, "I will return to the shop after I have earned enough money to purchase it."

Lin Zheng's face was full of disappointment at the answer.

Zhen Han hastily added,"I will borrow some money from my mother and buy the jewelry immediately."

Lin Zheng gave a deep sigh and said, "You once again failed. Have you not thought of simply stealing the jewelry if you are strong? And if you are weak, you could have found a way to scam the jewelry. But nope! You thought of means which will cost you physical and mental pain!"

Zhen Han was shocked by the answer. He tried to reason, "But stealing or scamming from others is wrong!"

"Wrong? Who said they are wrong?"

"Mom said..."

"And who told your mom it is wrong? Your mom's mom I suppose. Who told her then? Someone else perhaps...you see the pattern here? We are polluted by the thoughts of someone who is not closely related to us."

"That might be true but taking away someone else property is still wrong."

"Someone's property? That is another lie of the world."

"Yes. Tell me when a person is born does he bring something? When a person dies does he takes away something along with him? If you really own something then you should have it when you are born and when you die. But you see we have nothing when we are born neither do we take away something when we die."

"The Heavens created every resource we have. They never made an owner of those resources. Ultimately, everything belongs to Heavens. So if you take something from a person, then you are not stealing it because that person doesn't own it."

"But people say every object has an owner."

"You will?" Zhen Han was excited. He was afraid his uncle will not teach him the Great Dao now that he has failed in a basic test.

"You are my nephew so I have to show some bias," Lin Zheng said with a heavy sigh

"Thank you!" Zhen Han hastily bowed in order to express his gratitude.

"Let us move in more depth analysis of how our thought process is wrong since our thoughts are not our own. Only after this could I start the real lesson on the great Dao."
