12 Chapter – 12 Reincarnating Lavinia and Artoria

As soon as Nova returned to the waiting room, he was enveloped by Libra in a tight hug, "You did great dear."

"Fhank fou fodr (Thank you mother)!" spoke Nova as he struggled to breathe, because of being crushed by Libra's humongous boobs.

Libra and Lavinia probably have similar cup sizes, but being hugged by Libra is different. When Lavinia pushes his head between her boobs, Nova makes sure to enjoy the sensation and feel her up, but he doesn't do that with Libra, therefore, it's really tiring to be hugged by Libra.

After a while, Libra released him, allowing Nova to finally breathe properly. After taking a few deep breaths, Nova complained, "Mother… please stop hugging me so tightly, you always end up suffocating me!"

"Ara? Mumma can't help it. Besides, didn't you like being hugged by Mumma?" asked Libra in confusion.

Nova answered in an annoyed tone, "That was back when I was a kid!"

"Huh? But you are still a child!" spoke Libra with a pout.

"I have become a High-Class Devil now; I am no longer a kid!" Nova tried to retort using his newfound status.

"Humph… Mumma is an ultimate-Class Devil… so it doesn't matter whether have become a high-class devil…! You-are-still-a-child!" Libra crushed Nova's retort with a proud smirk.

Nova sighed helplessly, "Fine whatever… but please, don't suffocate me." then passed the crown on his head as well as the certificate of promotion to Libra, "Mother, please take care of these two things."

Nova doesn't particularly care about the Crown and the Certificate, but because these two items were given to him by none other than the Devil Kings during his promotion ceremony, he needs to make sure that they are kept safe. They symbolize his status… and it would be embarrassing if either of the two things were lost or damaged because of his carelessness. Therefore, Nova handed over both items to Libra for safekeeping.

While Libra carefully stored the crown and certificate in her personal space, Lavinia and Artoria congratulated Nova for finally becoming a High-Class Devil, "Lord Nova… congratulation!" "Master congratulations!" The others present in the waiting room, including Ghislaine and Patolli also congratulated him.

"Thank you very much, Lavinia, Artoria, Ghislaine, Patolli…" Nova thanked everyone with a smile.

By now, Libra had dealt with the crown and certificate, and Julius has also arrived at the Waiting room.

Seeing that everyone was looking at him, Nova spoke, "Since everyone is here… then I am going to start.'

"Very well." Nodded Julius.

"Go ahead dear." Added Libra with an encouraging smile.

Nova nodded, "Yes." And focused his attention on the small wooden box given to him by Ajuka.

Before injecting his Demonic Power into the black Stone plate, Nova tried to open the wooden box, he wanted to see what the Evil Pieces look like before they become his, however, he was surprised to find that the box could not be opened, it seemed to be sealed.

Noting Nova's confusion, Julius explained, "These wooden boxes that are used to contain the Evil Pieces are specifically designed in such a manner that until someone injects their Demonic Energy in the stone plate and makes the pieces theirs, the box would not open. This is done in order to make sure that the Evil Pieces aren't tampered with or stolen by anyone before they get their master."

"I see." Nodded Nova with a thoughtful expression. And he decided to proceed with the right procedure. He was only a little curious as to what their prior state is… it's nothing that important. So, putting his curiosity aside for a while, he wrapped his Demonic Power around the palm of his right hand and placed it on the black stone plate located at the top of the wooden box.

The moment Nova's palm touched the stone plate, the demonic energy wrapped around it was absorbed by the stone plate.

As the demonic energy was absorbed, the black stone plate started to shine in a mixture of sapphire, emerald, and black.

As the glow subsided, the colour of the stone plate changed to white, and a 'CLICK!' sound resounded.

'CLICK!' meant that the procedure is complete, and the wooden box is unlocked!

"Here I go!" muttered Nova excitedly as he opened the lid and looked inside.

Nova has been looking forward to getting his Evil Pieces for the past thirteen years, so this moment is extremely important for him.

As the lid opened, the sight of multiple crystal stones resting inside the wooden box appeared before him. Coloured in a mixture of Sapphire, Emerald, and sparkling black, they amounted to fifteen in total with varying shapes.

One [Queen], two [Bishop], two [Knight], two [Rook], and eight [Pawn].

Of the fifteen pieces, a few appeared rather different when compared with the rest, these few had a darker shade of colour, along with some peculiar differences.

Noting these few different pieces, Nova's eyes widened in surprise, "These are?"

Before he could finish, Libra exclaimed in shock, "Huh? This is… this is simply unbelievable… these many Mutated Pieces?"

Julius nodded in disbelief, "This is definitely the first time such a situation has occurred since the Evil Piece System was created!"

The others in the Waiting room were also taken aback and looked at the cause of such a wonder in surprise and amazement.

Nobody needed to tell Nova that he has accomplished something unprecedented, he knew that he has really done something amazing, even if did not know how he do it.

Something like this has never occurred in the history of the Evil Piece System! No one has ever managed to get these many Mutated Pieces!

It must not be forgotten that getting just a single Mutated Piece is already considered rare because only one in every ten devils manages to obtain a single Mutated Piece, but for some unknown reason, Novachrono Agares has obtained not just one or two… but three Mutated Evil Pieces!

Don't take it the wrong way… Nova has also read a lot of DxD fanfics in his previous life, so he is no stranger to people getting multiple Mutated Pieces. In fact, some go too far and get all their pieces Mutated using various means, however, now that Nova knows the basics of how the Evil Piece System works, he understands that getting more than one Evil Piece is nearly impossible!

Therefore, even if Nova wanted to get multiple Mutated Pieces; in his heart, he did not have any expectations of getting more than one. In fact, Nova wasn't even sure if he will be able to obtain a single Mutation Piece as this is simply a matter of luck and has nothing to do with a person's ability!

"Do I have such good luck?" he couldn't help but mutter in wonder.

Looking at the three Mutation Pieces, Novachrono smiled and thought, 'It seems I will have to make some changes to my initial peerage plans.'

Yes, he has long since planned his future peerage… at least to a certain extent.

Of course, whatever he has planned for the peerage isn't finalized and it is subject to changes depending on the circumstances, but for the most part, it will remain close to what he has thought… at least this was supposed to happen.

After all, Nova hadn't expected that he would get more than a single Mutated Piece, so he planned his peerage accordingly, however, now that such a wonderful and most welcomed change has occurred, obviously some alterations are in order.

What's better is that he has got two Mutated Bishop Pieces, this is just the thing he needed at this moment.

With this thought in mind, Nova looked at the two members of his peerage, and spoke, "Lavinia… Artoria… are the two of you ready?"

Both the girls nodded with warm smiles, "Yes, Lord Nova!" "Yes, master!" They have been looking forward to this moment for the past few years.

With the agreement of the two girls, Julius, and Libra as well as the servants of their peerage stepped back, making enough space for Nova and his servants to complete the reincarnation ritual.

After the space was vacated, Nova proceeded to create the ritual magic circle on the floor and stood on it. This ritual Magic circle will be used to carry out the reincarnation ceremony.

The first to walk inside the magic circle was Lavinia, she has been serving Nova longer than Artoria, so it's only natural that she becomes his first peerage member. After Lavinia had taken her place, Nova suspended the wooden box containing his evil pieces in the air as he questioned the older blonde, "Lavinia Reni, do you swear to serve me for as long as you live?"

"I do my lord!" Lavinia nodded as the evil pieces inside the suspended wooden box shined a brilliant light.

Taking this as his cue, Nova issued the command, "In the name of almighty evil, I, shall have you reborn into my [Bishop]! You shall live forever and serve me forever!"

Following Nova's command, one of the two Mutated [Bishop] rose left the wooden box as it rose into the air and went inside Lavinia's chest reincarnating her as one of the two mutated [Bishop] of his peerage. Immediately, a pair of jet-black bat-like wings unfolded behind her back, signalling that she has lost her humanity.

But despite not being a human anymore… Lavinia looked happier than ever as tears of joy trickled down her cheeks, she wanted to hug Nova but controlled herself not to do so at the moment since Artoria was waiting.

Wiping her tears, she stepped back and made way for Artoria.

The lance user took her place in the ritual magic circle as she waited for her master to issue the command.

Without making the younger blonde wait any longer, Nova questioned, "Artoria Pendragon, do you swear to serve me for eternity?"

"I do, my liege!" nodded Artoria, as she genuflected before Nova.

With Artoria's acknowledgement the Evil Pieces inside the wooden box once again started to shine, taking this as the signal, Nova issued the command, "In the name of seven cardinal sins, I shall reincarnate you, Artoria Pendragon, as my [Knight]! I have great expectations from you, and you must live up to those expectations!"

Following Nova's command, one of the [Knight] pieces rose from the wooden box and went inside Artoria's chest reincarnating her as one of the [Knight] of his peerage. Once again, a pair of jet-black bat-like wings unfolded behind her back, signalling that she has been reborn as a devil.

With this, the ritual was completed, and Lavinia and Artoria became members of Nova's peerage.

"Son? I remember that you told me that you were planning to make Lavinia the [Queen] of your peerage yet you made her your [Bishop], why the sudden change of plans?" asked Julius curiously. He and Nova have had a few discussions regarding Lavinia and Artoria's positions in his peerage, and Nova always said that he will probably make Lavinia his [Queen], but the result is completely different!

Nova nodded, "Yes, father, I did plan that… but that was before I got my Evil Pieces. Honestly, I never considered the possibility that I will be getting three mutation pieces, more so that two of them will be [Bishop]!" and added after a pause, "Lavinia has been serving me for the past eight years and in the time that she has been with me, I have come to understand her. Of course, she is an amazing person, and a fine servant to have in my peerage… She is hard working and talented, the fruits of her efforts are quite clear as she has gained substantial control of her Longinus, and she has displayed unmatchable talent in Magic, however… there is one thing… she is a mage-type through and through.

Although she can manage close physical combat to some extent, she is not very good at it, so she would never be able to display the full potential of [Queen], therefore, I chose [Bishop].

Of course, if hadn't gotten mutated [Bishop], I would have definitely made her [Queen] of my peerage, but since I obtained not just one but two mutated [Bishop], I was able to make the right choice."

"Hmm… I see." Nodded Julius, and asked, "So, do you have anyone in your mind for the role of [Queen]?"

Nova thought for a while, and answered, "Yes, I do have a few candidates in mind who might make a good [Queen]… but that will have to wait, it's not the right time yet. Before I go after them, I need to learn something."

Exactly as he said, Nova does have a few [Queen] candidates. A certain Dhampir Princess, and a certain sleeping beauty… neither of them would be a bad choice… but yes, it would be highly troublesome to get his hands on either of them. So, a lot of planning is in order.

Julius nodded, "I see." And added with a smile, "There is no need to rush things, take your time collecting your peerage members, your mother and I are always there to support you."

Nova nodded, "I know."

Julius caressed his son's head, and spoke, "Once again… congratulations son, for being promoted and getting started with your peerage."

Nova smiled, "Thank you, Father."

At this time, Libra spoke, "Since the two of you are done, shall we go? This is the first young devil's gathering after all!"

The father-son duo nodded, after that, the devils of House of Agares made their way to the first Young Devils' gathering at the Hall of Promotion.

So, this is it for Chapter - 12.

Yes, after thinking multiple times, I decided to go for Bishop for Lavinia. I suppose I made the right decision for her.

Now, then, for the Queen piece, I am thinking between the sleeping beauty and the Dhampir princess of DxD, both of them seem to be the right choice, should I play my card right, well, we'll see what we can do.

And yeah... for the statement of using only 2 OC's for the MC's peerage, I may not hold it any longer, but I'll see what I can do. Anyway, this is fanfic and sort of wish fulfilment, so anything goes, as long as it is done in the right manner.
