45 Ch. 45: Preparing To Return

Two weeks passed.

During the past two weeks, Chen Fan and Tang Hongyu were attached to each other's hips, literally.

On one fine morning, they could be seen on their bed.

Both were naked and sweating, from the waist down covered by a blanket.

Their most intimate tools were still connected.

"How are you?" Chen Fan broke the silence.

Tang Hongyu tilted her head and rested her chin on his chest, her glimmering eyes looking into his eyes.

"Satisfied, sated, complete, and content. I missed these feelings so much, darling."

"Oh, so what you're missing is my body? And here I thought that you missed, well, me," Chen Fan commented with a faux disappointment.

Tang Hongyu rolled her eyes and poked Chen Fan's cheeks. "So what if I only missed your body? Who would miss a cheeky guy like you? Whose fault is your body this amazing?"

"You became a pervert when I was in seclusion! I don't feel safe around you all of sudden!" Chen Fan gasped and pretended to be shocked.

"Huh? How could you call me a pervert when it was your fault? I became like this because of you! So man up and use this amazing body of yours to take responsibility! Humph!" Tang Hongyu snorted and turned to the side.

"Fine! As a generous and righteous man, I shall sacrifice my body to this insatiable seductress, so no man shall become your victim!" Chen Fan put on a righteous face.

"Just how thick your skin is, I wonder…" Tang Hongyu pinched Chen Fan's cheeks and tried to stretch it out to no avail. There was an amused smile on her face.

A few moments later, Tang Hongyu stopped stretching Chen Fan's cheek and had a faraway gaze. Then, her eyes reddened and moistened, and she began sobbing softly.

Chen Fan was surprised and worried. "Dear, what's wrong?" He asked while rubbing her tears.

"I am just happy that you're back with me. These past months without you were painful, darling. Really painful. Something was missing in my life, and it made me feel restless and uneasy. I realized that I love you so much. I can't live without you. Please don't leave me," Tang Hongyu said with a desperate look.

Chen Fan looked at Tang Hongyu lovingly, one hand stroking her head and his other hand caressing her cheek. "I won't leave you. I can't promise that we'll live together for eternity because there's no such thing as true eternal, but I can promise you that we'll live together for millions and even billions of years."

"Billions of years? Sounds super long!" Tang Hongyu replied in a mix of amusement and bemusement.

It looks like she'd recovered from her sudden mood swing.

Chen Fan pinched Tang Hongyu's nose and said, "Well, we're Immortal Cultivators. Living that long is a piece of a cake for us."

"I suppose you're right." Tang Hongyu conceded after slapping away his hand from abusing her nose.

They fell silent and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.

"How much time do we have left?" Tang Hongyu broke the silence suddenly.

"Less than a month," Chen Fan replied.

However, that wasn't the truth. The truth was that the time dilation effect had expanded to 100,000 hours or 11.5 years.

In addition, he could choose to slow the time of one location while the rest flowed like outside.

Tang Hongyu glanced at Chen Fan over her shoulder as she responded. Her smile was filled with gratitude and love.

"I didn't expect my breakthrough to give you such a boon," Chen Fan said in amazement.

"En," Tang Hongyu responded shortly and nodded.

They were silent for a while.

"Two more days and we'll be back on earth. I don't feel like going back to that place." Tang Hongyu broke the silence.

"Unfortunately, we have a life and some things to be done there. We can't run away from it. If we run away, it will leave a mark on our hearts that will make us feel sorry and wonder what-if scenarios. Such things will have adverse effects on us. We will live a very long time, so getting closure is important."

Tang Hongyu contemplated Chen Fan's words for a few moments. Then, she nodded slowly and heaved a sigh. "You're right."

After calming down, they stayed in that position and enjoyed each other's presence for a while. Then, they decided to get cleaned up and dressed before leaving their room.
