9 Chapter 09: Lavender Town....

Vermillion City Pokemon Centre:-

" Hey did you watch that video? " Asked a random person 1.

" Which one are you talking about??? " Replied the annoyed person 2.

Random person 1 whispered excitedly, " Sigh how can you miss such an exciting video? " seeing his counterpart on the verge of leaving him, he added hurriedly, " Apparently yesterday, Lt. Surge was easily defeated by a mysterious white haired trainer and you know what, that trainer owned a Mythical Pokemon Darkrai. "

" What....!!! How can someone catch a Mythical Pokemon? I....think this is just a minor misunderstanding. " answered the random person 2 in a bewildered manner.

Random person 1 snorted, " Humph...what do you know? That mysterious trainer was a real deal. During his battle someone actually recorded the match is and posted online. That's how the matter was exposed. "

Person 2 eagerly added, " Then what happened? "

Person 1 finally smiled, " After the video was posted online, it gone viral just in a single night. Here look. " Then he played the video in which Alex was battling against Lt. Surge.

After the video was over person 2 sighed, " It seems you are right about him. How envious... if possible i really want to battle him even if i were to lose the match. "

The person 1 pocketed his Poke phone while continuing, " You are not the first one to have such wish. Almost everyone in Vermillion City was searching for him to battle. "

" Then why don't both of us try to search him? Don't you think it's a good idea? " person 2 asked. Hearing this person 1 nodded eagerly, " Alright then let's hurry up. "

Unknown to them a white haired boy was eavesdropping to their conversation. This boy was none other than Alex, who was waiting to collect his Pokemon from Nurse Joy. He was pleasantly surprised by this unexpected outcome of his previous battle.

He had never anticipated of gaining fame overnight but inwardly he was somewhat happy. Now he was ready to made a grand entrance in this year's Indigo Conference like Tobias.

He always wanted to become a Legendary Mysterious trainer like Tobias. Although unlike him, he won't just use Darkrai to win every single Gym battle. He could still remember that epic battle when Tobias crushed Ash with his Darkrai and Latios in Lily of the Valley Conference.

While reminiscing his past, he headed towards Nurse Joy to collect his Poke Ball.

While collecting his Poke Balls he decided to ask her a question, " Nurse Joy, can you please give me some idea about where can i find some good Ghost type Pokemon? You see i want one in my team for the upcoming tournament in St Anne. "

Nurse Joy replied kindly, " You can easily find some good Ghost type Pokemon in Lavender

Town and its nearby forest. If you take Route Eleven then it will only take you only three days to reach Lavender Town. "

Then she frowned, " But you should be cautious because i have recently heard about the Ghost type Pokemon becoming restless lately for some unknown reason. "

Alex thought about it for a moment, " Alright i will be cautious and thanks for your advice. " He had decided to catch a Ghost type from the forest because he was too lazy to deal with any unnecessary crap.

" No problem. " Nurse Joy smiled and resumed her computer typing as Alex left the Pokemon Center. Alex hit the road taking him towards the Route Eleven and began walking.

" Now Charmeleon use Dragon Breath. " Alex pointed towards a nearby dead tree. Instantly Charmeleon glared at the tree like it was his arch-enemy and roared defiantly.

He opened his huge maw and breathed out a thick pillar of green Dragon energy towards the tree. With a resounding boom the attack connected. Splinters flew everywhere as the tall tree dropped to the ground with creaking sound.

Alex's grin widened, " Hahaha... Charmeleon that Dragon Breath was extremely badass. " Charmeleon gave him a toothy grin as he pumped his fist in the air.

Like always Charmeleon's Dragon type moves were strangely overpowered. Alex had no idea why was this but nonetheless it was not a bad thing.

He watched as Charmeleon's tail flame slowly growing in size day by day and his scales were turning darker. Alex couldn't wait to see his Shiny Charmeleon evolve into a black Charizard.

Because of the system store, his Pokemon could easily learn any move with the help of Tms. After learning the moves they just had to practice regularly in order to increase the proficiency.

Then Alex went to train both Aron and Rhyhorn. It would take some time evolve them but both were already near their next evolution.

" Alright lately i couldn't direct my focus on both of you because of various reasons. So let's see, Aron i am starting with you. " Alex pondered through her move set before commanding, " Use Rock Tomb...."

He easily finished her move set before instructing Rhyhorn. But unlike Aron Rhyhorn was a lazy-ass, so everytime Alex had to bribe him with Poffins to motivate him.

Three days later....

After finishing his long journey through Route Eleven, Alex finally arrived at the infamous Lavender Town during evening. This town was famous for its Ghost type Pokemon throughout Kanto Region.

Alex told his Darkrai not to expose her aura unless necessary otherwise every Ghost type Pokemon would just hide from them, thus failing to find a Pokemon with good potential.

As he started exploring the town he realised that the whole town was covered by a creepy atmosphere and the fog covering the town was obstructing his view. Still he could clearly identify the tallest building of this town the Pokemon Tower.

Along the way he had encountered several Ghost type such as Ghastly and its evolution lines with some more rarely seen one like Misdreavus, Drifloon and Shuppet etc.

As he was not interested in them, he directly went to the Pokemon Center. After booking a room and making sure his Pokemon were in best condition he left the town to capture a suitable Ghost type for him.

As it was almost night time, it would be very easy to encounter any Ghost type rather than daytime.

The forest near Lavender Town was surrounded by ghostly fog obstructing his view, so he released Charmeleon to illuminate the path.

Alex ventured deep into the forest while trying to find a good Pokemon. Suddenly Charmeleon paused and growled while looking ahead. Alex instantly realised that whatever entity was ahead, was definitely not friendly.

Darkrai also came out of his shadow and narrowed her single eye dangerously. In the next moment thick tree roots erupted from the ground as multiple vines shot out aiming in their direction.

Alex formed a Psychic barrier around him to protect himself whereas Charmeleon breathed out a massive Flamethrower and incinerated the bunch of incoming vines.

But the attack was yet to over as a thick branch lashed at Charmeleon, which was stopped by a Iron Tail by the fire lizard Pokemon. Next Darkrai launched a barrage of Shadow Ball in every direction.

As a result the every nearby trees were forcefully obliterated by Darkrai. Finally the Pokemon responsible for all of this revealed itself.

It was a tree like Pokemon with a single red eye glowing ominously. Alex couldn't remember this Pokemon so he used scan on it.

[ Trevenant a Ghost/Grass type Pokemon also known as the Elder Tree Pokemon. This Pokemon controls the trees by using the roots stretching from its feet.

ability: Natural Cure

This one is a male and knows the move Wood Hammer, Ingrain, Growth, Hex and Phantom Force, Hyper Beam.

" Alright Darkrai use Dark Pulse. " Alex ordered after reading its data. Darkrai stretched out her palms and threw out two complicated chains of Dark energy.

Trevenant countered with his Wood Hammer as both attacks collided in the air. But the Dark Pulse easily obliterated the Wood Hammer and successfully hit the tree Pokemon.

Trevenant roared defiantly as he tumbled down on the rough forest path and lost his consciousness.

Alex sighed, " Well-done Darkrai. As always your Dark Pulse was an extremely effective move. " He ran his fingers through her white hair as she purred in satisfaction. But Charmeleon grunted in frustration as Alex neglected him.

So Alex bent down a little, " Charmeleon you were also great. Your Flamethrower was magnificent. " He Patted the fire lizard to calm him down.

He walked near the subdued tree Pokemon and brought out two Mago Berries, " Trevenant eat these and it will restore your health. " But the Pokemon looked warily at him, so he said softly, " Don't worry we are not here to harm you. "

Finally the tree Pokemon accepted the berries as Alex smiled in satisfaction. Once this was over they once again resumed their journey.

After nearly one hour Alex finally encountered the Pokemon he was interested in. Standing in front of him was a white coloured bulky round bodied Pokemon with its signature blue ghostly eyes and creepy smile.

It was a Gengar. But looking at the huge Gengar Alex realised a fact that most of the Pokemon he encountered until today were either Shiny ones or gigantic ones. Like this one was both a Shiny and huge in size.

Generally Shiny Pokemon were absolutely hard to find but in his case it was the exactly opposite. But it was not the time to think about such matters as he wanted to catch this one without letting it flee.

Next his system automatically activated and scanned the Pokemon...

[ Gengar a Ghost/Poison type Pokemon also known as the Shadow Pokemon. Deep in the night your shadow may be overtake you. It is actually a Gengar running past you pretending to be your shadow.

This Gengar is a male and knows the moves Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Shadow Ball, Night Shade, Ice Punch, Focus Punch, Explosion, Double Team and Hyper Beam.

Because Alex couldn't remember some of the Pokemon he decided to turn on the automatic mode to get immediate assistance in identifying Pokemon.

As expected from a Shiny Gengar it was very strong and talented. It also knew Explosion a very rare but self-sacrificing move found in Gengar not that Alex ever let him use it.

Without wasting any more time he decided to capture it. He ordered Darkrai to take battlefield and to his surprise Gengar looked excited for the battle. This Gengar didn't even hesitate once to fight against such a strong Dark type and made his first move.

Gengar's eyes turned red as he vanished into the darkness only to replaced by several of its replica surrounding Darkrai from all sides. Laughing creepily all of them used Night Shade.

Several black lightning like rays of Ghost energy headed towards Darkrai. But she didn't move and waited for her trainer's order.

" Darkrai counter with Shadow Ball then use Dark Pulse to expose the original one. "

Darkrai fired successive Shadow Ball and countered every single rays of Ghost type energy with extreme precision.

Then she waved her palms and launched several chains of purple coloured Dark type energy. All the illusory Gengar vanished upon contact and finally revealing the real one who took a direct hit.

Next Gengar launched a Shadow Ball in retaliation for the previous attack.

" Alright let's finish this. Use Dark Void. "

Darkrai easily dodged the Shadow Ball and countered with her signature attack, an illusory looking ball of dark energy. The attack hit Gengar and immediately knocking out the Ghost type.

Alex threw one of his Poke Balls at the sleeping Gengar, instantly sucking it in the form of a red energy. The ball wiggled once, twice and finally with a ding it settled down.

Alex praised his Pokemon for her flawless fight as he lifted the Poke Ball containing Gengar from the ground and released the Pokemon. With a flash of white light Gengar materialised in front of him currently wide awake.

But Gengar looked terribly depressed for some reason.

Alex approached the Ghost type, " Hey Gengar why are you feeling down? "

" Gen.....gar..." He grumbled audibly while indicating Darkrai. So Alex finally felt enlightened as he asked, " Are you perhaps sad because of your recent defeat? " Gengar nodded in acknowledgment.

Alex patted the Ghost type as he tried to cheer it up, " Don't worry buddy. Now that you are a part of my team, i will train you and make you stronger so that you won't ever loose to anyone else. "

That cheered up the Ghost type as he grinned and looked provocatively towards Darkrai. Alex smiled and recalled Gengar as he made his way back to Lavender Town's Pokemon Center.
