7 Chapter 07: Cerulean City Gym...

From this chapter onwards Alex is going to be an extremely op trainer, so if you are interested in slow and steady progress then please kindly stop reading.

Also i don't like strategic battles that much so most of times Alex will use brute force to win matches.

In my opinion Dark type, Dragon type, Ghost type and Psychic type are the best. So don't complain me to use different varieties.

Three days later....

Alex finally made up his mind to use Darkrai from now on without any reservation. So he went to the shopping district and bought a silver coloured face mask and some new outfits to hide his identity to avoid every annoying pests.

After changing into his new outfit, Alex headed towards the city outskirts where the Cerulean City gym was located.

After walking for a while Alex found a colourfully decorated building within his sight with a water themed signboard upon which Cerulean City Gym was written.

As Alex approached the building he saw two bodyguards blocking the entrance. When they saw him approaching they checked him because of his appearance but after finding nothing suspicious they nodded and let him pass.

When he walked inside Alex saw a huge lobby with some trainers waiting. Alex headed towards the front desk and addressed the man sitting there, " I'm here to challenge your Gym leader. So can you please inform her? "

During his stay in Cerulean City he had made some research about the Gym leader and was surprised to find it was actually Misty instead of her three sisters.

" Alright then, go inside and wait for the Gym leader. " The man informed him as she resumed her work.

Alex passed through the side door and found himself inside a small stadium. There was a battle arena in the centre of which was a pool.

Alex didn't have to wait much longer because soon the side door opened up and an orange haired girl approached him. She was wearing a yellow tank top and thigh length denim shorts.

This girl was none other than Misty a Water type Pokemon trainer, who travelled alongside Ash in the original anime.

" Hi, i am Misty the gym leader of Cerulean City Gym. Now can you please tell me how many badges do you have? " Misty asked as in a chirpy voice.

Alex replied in a deep voice, " I'm Alex and i have only one badge. "

Misty then explained the rules, " Hmm, we are having a two on two match where only the challenger is allowed to switch Pokemon. Also you can stop the match anytime you want. Now are you ready? " Seeing his nod she threw out a Poke Ball which revealed a snowy white Pokemon, " Go Dewgong. "

The seal Pokemon clapped his hands with excitement as he waited for Alex's Pokemon. A man also joined them near the pool as the referee of the match.

Alex also nodded, " Alright Darkrai reveal yourself. "

Then in front of Misty's petrified gaze the Mythical Dark type came out of Alex's shadow and started floating above the pool waiting for Alex's order.

" Isn't this the Mythical Pokemon Darkrai? " Asked Misty in a trembling voice. " Yes, you are right. " Alex replied in a calm voice.

Misty observed the pitch black Pokemon with both awe and nervousness because she had never thought of meeting such a Pokemon. After she calmed down a little she turned her gaze back to Alex because she was curious regarding his identity but nonetheless started the match.

" Dewgong use Icy Wind. " Misty ordered immediately. Instantly the whole arena was filled with ice flakes and cold wind started blowing.

" Use Dark Void to put the Dewgong to sleep. "

Darkrai conjured a ball of illusory black energy between her palms and fired it towards Dewgong.

" Dewgong hurry up and jump into the water. "

The seal Pokemon dived underwater as Darkrai's attack missed.

Alex smirked, " Now Darkrai use Thunderbolt. "

" Dewgong quick, come out of the water. " Misty yelled. But to her horror Darkrai was very fast as she charged a Thunderbolt and a blue ray of electricity collided with water surface before Dewgong could come out.

As a result the seal Pokemon cried out in pain because of the super effective attack. Finally Dewgong came out of the water but it looked very wretched with tiny threads of electricity running on his skin.

Alex was surprised that this seal Pokemon was still conscious.

" Dewgong use Ice Beam on Darkrai. " Misty gave her next order. Dewgong charged her strongest attack and fired a beam of icy energy towards Darkrai.

" Darkrai dodge and finish it with Dark Void. " Darkrai obliged and once again made a illusory black sphere and threw it in the direction of Dewgong after dodging the Ice Beam.

But this time Dewgong was unable to dodge. Dark Void easily expanded upon collision and surrounded the seal Pokemon with dark energy. As a result Dewgong's consciousness instantly faded away.

" Dewgong is unable to battle. Gym leader please choose your next Pokemon. " The referee announced.

Misty sighed as she recalled her Pokemon, " It seems i have to use my ace in order to win against you. " She chuckled, " You may have won this round but the next round won't be this easy. Go Gyarados. " With a flash of white light a red gigantic serpentine Pokemon appeared. It gave a intimidating roar after feeling Darkrai's presence.

" Gyarados use Hydro Pump. " Misty didn't waste any time and ordered instantly.The serpentine Pokemon opened its huge maw and spat out a thick stream of spinning jet of water towards Darkrai.

" Darkrai dodge with Double Team and use Shadow Ball. " Alex commanded. Immediately a dozen Darkrai appeared and the Hydro Pump hit one of the clones. Then twenty spherical ball of dark energy gathered above Darkrai as she fired all of them.

" Use Protect and then use Rain Dance. "

Gyarados easily withstood the barrage of Shadow Ball and then threw a concentrated ball of water towards the sky. Soon black clouds formed above the arena and it started raining.

Alex knew that he had to finish this match as soon as possible so he added, " Alright Darkrai use Confuse Ray. " Darkrai's eyes started glowing red whereas Gyarados also followed her footsteps.

" Gyarados snap out of it. Hurry up. " Misty yelled desperately but it was of no use.

" Now let's finish this. Darkrai use Dark Pulse full power. " Darkrai brought her hands near eachother and made a purple-black ball of dark energy.

Then she fired the closely linked chains of dark energy towards the confused Gyarados.

The chains of dark energy harshly collided with the massive sea serpent. With a loud boom Gyarados was sent flying towards the opposite wall outside the pool.

His massive body formed a series of dense spider web like crack on the wall and finally the Pokemon lost its consciousness.

" Gyarados is unable to battle and with the result of 2-0 the winner of this official gym match is challenger Alex. " Referee announced with awe as it was the first he had seen Misty loosing in a such a one-sided manner.

" I....lost. " Misty said to herself as she couldn't believe such a one-sided beatdown.

Darkrai floated back towards Alex and looked very eager. Alex was also grinning widely behind his mask with Darkrai's performance. Alex hugged Darkrai happily as he said, " Darkrai you are the best. It was your first official battle but you won it without breaking a sweat. "

Hearing her trainer's praise she gave a happy smile behind her red scarf.

Misty quickly brought her attention back to Alex as she recalled Gyarados after saying a thanks. She walked around the pool to congratulate her mysterious opponent.

" I have to admit Alex, you are strong. You are also the only person whom against i couldn't even score a single hit. " Then she smiled as she took out a small blue badge. She gave it to Alex as she continued, " Congratulations you have won the Cascade Badge. "

Alex stored his new badge inside his badge-case as he thanked her, " By the way thanks for the battle. I hope we can battle again in the future. "

" You can count on me but i will use my main team next time. Anyway it was fun battling with you Alex and i wish you best of luck with your adventure. " With that Misty said her goodbye.

Alex left the gym and headed in the direction of food district to have a celebratory feast with his Pokemon.

Alex decided to enjoy some ice cream. So he went to a restaurant and booked a room. Alex released everyone to enjoy. Among his Pokemon Amaura enjoyed ice creams the most.

Looking at his happy Pokemon Alex smiled and thought of his next course of action. Now that he had won his gym battle Alex decided to set off for the Vermillion City tomorrow.

Also he had bought the item required to evolve his Scyther.

So he decided to evolve him tonight.

After their little celebration was over Alex returned to the Pokemon Center. The rest of the day was uneventful. After dinner Alex released all his Pokemon so that everyone could enjoy the evolution process.

" Alright Scyther now it's time for your evolution. Come here. " Alex brought out a Metal Coat as he gestured Scyther to take it.

Scyther approached him excitedly as he took the Metal Coat and when he held it, instantly he started glowing. His shape started changing and slowly the light died down.

Currently in front of Alex stood a red ant like Pokemon with crab like claws and thick metallic exoskeleton. Alex immediately used scan on Scizor.

[ Scizor the Pincer Pokemon. This Pokemon has a body of steel even its muscles are made of metal. It raises its pincers with eye like patterns to intimidate its enemy.

This Scizor is a male and knows the moves Bullet Punch, X-Scissor, Iron Head, Night Slash, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Flash Cannon.

Finally Alex closed his system interface with satisfaction. Among his Pokemon next was Amaura because she was also at level 38 currently only one level away from her next evolution.

After Scizor had his fun with everyone he recalled everyone and decided to call it a day.
