4 Chapter 04: Viridian Forest...

The next morning Alex left Viridian City and began heading towards Pewter City, to challenge Pewter City gym.

It was almost about to middle of the day when Alex reached the epicenter of the forest. During his travel, he decided to train his Pokemon until they were ready to face atleast the first three gym leaders.

Viridian Forest was known as the paradise of Bug type Pokemon and among them only one Pokemon was best in his opinion, that was Scyther. But Scyther was a very rare Pokemon so it required extreme luck to encounter one.

As he didn't have any tracking skill, he was looking for it blindly. While he was busy finding a Scyther many praying eyes were analysing his activities from the depth of the forest.

" Charmander, if you feel any abnormal activities then alert me okay!!! " Alex said as he set Charmander free. The baby lizard Pokemon raised his fist with enthusiasm.

As the search prolonged, Alex became irritated. But just as he was ready to give up his Charmander stopped in his track. Alex followed his partner's gaze and was surprised to find a green mantis like Pokemon with two wings and two sharp Scyth shaped forearms.

The Bug type was flying gracefully while inspecting Alex and Charmander. It was a humongous specimen already twice the size of a normal adult Scyther.

Scyther knew that this human wanted to capture him. Although he didn't have any intention of being captured, he won't flee like a coward.

Alex also knew that Scyther were the most battle thirsty and violent one among the bug types. But it was actually this nature of their what Alex liked the most about them.

" Scyther i am challenging you for a battle. Now Charmander use 'Flamethrower' on Scyther. " Alex ordered and took a stance behind Charmander.

Charmander conjured a pillar of flame and unleashed it towards the Bug Pokemon. But in response Scyther just used 'Double Team' and dodged the attack.

Then Scyther dove towards Charmander with its wings glowing white.

" Charmander, dodge and use Fire Fang. "

Charmander easily dodged the attack and ruthlessly snapped his jaws burning with flame but his attempt was futile because Scyther just flew upward with its extreme speed.

Next Scyther used its glowing scyth like arms and launched a direct attack on Charmander with blinding speed.

Alex knew this move as 'X-Scissor', the strongest move a Scyther could learn. But he was very surprised as this wild Scyther was not only huge but also knew such rare moves like 'X-Scissor' and 'Double Team'.

" Alright Charmander use 'Smokescreen' and then counter with 'Inferno'. " Charmander obeyed as he opened his mouth and released a wide ranged 'Smokescreen'. Scyther's attack was failure as it couldn't locate Charmander because of the Smoke.

Next Charmander's tail flame grew in size as his whole body was enveloped with flame and finally he rushed towards the confused Scyther.

With a boom both Pokemon collided with eachother and in the next moment Scyther flew in the opposite direction. But somehow it recovered before colliding with a tree.

Just as it was about attack again burn took effect and the Bug type collapsed on the ground injured.

Alex didn't miss his chance and threw the Poke Ball towards the barely conscious Pokemon. Scyther vanished inside the Poke Ball in the form of a red light.

The Poke Ball shook three times before with a ding the capture was complete.

" Charmander, you were incredible. It was our first win. Now take some rest. " Alex hugged his exhausted Pokemon tightly and recalled him back.

But he was very happy as he caught a very powerful Scyther.

Alex used a Max Potion and Scyther recovered to its full health. Now that his first objective was clear he set up a camp near a small lake and let loose both Charmander and Darkrai.

" Listen you two, I'm going to release our new friends. So try to get along with them and if they try to attack stop them but don't hurt them..okay. " Seeing their nod Alex took a deep breath and released his three new Pokemon.

Soon with three bright flash an Aron, a Rhyhorn and a Scyther appeared in front of them.

Aron was a small black coloured Pokemon with a big head, four stubby legs whose whole body was covered with white metallic armor.

Aron was a Steel/Rock type Pokemon.

Next was Rhyhorn, a Kanto native Pokemon of Ground/Rock type. It looked like a little rhinoceros with rough gray hide and a horn on his head. It stood on its four thick but short legs.

Aron looked around curiously before spotting Alex as it rushed at him and gave him a gentle headbutt all of a sudden. Alex tripped on his back as the baby Pokemon approached his face and began licking him affectionately.

" Hey stop that, it tickles. " Alex smiled because of its unnatural attachment and took the baby Pokemon in his arms with satisfaction. Against all of his expectations Aron was actually liked him because of his aura.

When he turned his gaze towards his next two Pokemon he saw Scyther snorting and the baby Rhyhorn looking at him curiously without doing anything.

" Hello Aron, Scyther and Rhyhorn I'm Alex and this is Darkrai and Charmander. " Alex said as he gestured his Pokemon. " I am very happy to have all of you in my team. My dream is to be the strongest Pokemon Trainer of the world and i promise to make you all the strongest of your kind. "

A strange gleam passed through Scyther's eyes as he heard Alex whereas Rhyhorn didn't have that much reaction.

Alex crouched near the baby Rhyhorn, " Rhyhorn welcome to my team, do you want to come with me? You can train with me to become stronger and eat tasty food. "

This time Rhyhorn nodded eagerly and pushed its rough head against Alex's leg with a happy smile on its face.

" Alright let me take a look at your stats. " Alex first used scan on Scyther.

[ Scyther a Bug/Flying type Pokemon also known as the *Mantis Pokemon*. Scyther are blinding fast which helps them in using their scyth like arms. Scyther can easily slice a thick log with just one strike.

This Scyther is a male and knows the moves X-Scissor, Double Team, Fury Cutter, Wing Attack, Focus Energy and Slash.

" Scyther I'm glad that i got to meet you and i can assure you that you are going to one of the strongest Pokemon in my team. " Alex nodded as he patted his smooth head, much to the Pokemon's annoyance. Still he allowed Alex to do as he wish.

Alex chuckled a little and next scanned Rhyhorn.

[ Rhyhorn, a Pokemon famous for its immense defence and physical strength. It Is also known as the *Spikes Pokemon*. These are inept in changing direction because of their four short legs. Its bones are 1000 times stronger compared to humans.

This Rhyhorn is a male and knows the moves such as Tackle, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Horn Attack and Mega Horn.

Looking at its status Alex was surprised once again because he only knew it was a baby after looking at its level. But he was excited when he looked at its move sets especially moves like Stone Edge and Maga Horn.

Finally he scanned the baby Aron sleeping in his embrace.

[ Aron a Steel/Rock type Pokemon also known as the *Iron Armor Pokemon*. It likes to eat iron to build its body. So these Pokemon can be seen munching on railway track once in a while.

This Aron is a Female and knows the moves Rock Tomb, Rock Slide, Head Butt, Iron Defence, Double Edge and Metal Burst.

After nodding in understanding Alex decided to set up a camp. Like always Darkrai and Charmander helped him in setting up the fire and preparing food.

After having a good meal Alex started training his Pokemon. But to his surprise Scyther was the most eager one to train and Rhyhorn was the least eager one. He had to bribe it in order to train wholeheartedly.

Aron didn't raise any objection as long as Alex was near her. Alex was planning of spending atleast two weeks time in this forest before challenging Pewter City gym.

Now he had a total of five Pokemon not a bad progress considering it was only three days.

Two weeks later.....

Their two weeks of trekking in Viridian Forest was a huge success. Alex had battled with at least 50 trainers and majority of them were Bug catchers.

But the Pokemon who gave him most surprises was Charmander as his tail flame grew stronger and stronger as he kept winning battles. Slowly but surely his yellow scales started changing into deep yellow means he was going to evolve soon.

But among the bunch Darkrai was levelling up the slowest because Alex didn't had much idea of training Dark type moves. After undergoing two weeks of hard training regimen finally today she had a breakthrough to level 25 and now Alex could finally bond with her.

Alex also made tremendous progress with his Psychic ability. Now he could fly with his highest speed that was 100KMPH for two hours, could teleport to a distance of 50 km and lift some small boulders.

But after reaching until this point, he stopped progressing for some unknown reason.

Next he realised the perfect diet for each of his Pokemon. He made some special Poffins with enhanced nutrition value so that his Pokemon could undergo the intense physical training without any problem.

The only exception to this rule was the baby Aron and baby Rhyhorn. As they were currently very young he just taught them some new moves, still they were growing rapidly.

Scyther, Charmander and Darkrai mastered their old moves and learnt some new moves. They had also undergone some type disadvantage training.

The next morning, Alex called out Darkrai to perform the Destiny Bond. After he told Darkrai about the details and obtained her permission he initiated the process.

The moment both parties agreed to form a Destiny Bond a peculiar special connection connected both of them.

In the next moment Alex felt a new power awakening inside his body. While Alex was basking in his power upgrade he heard a sudden notification.

[ Congratulations host for completing your first Destiny Bond. You have gained the purest Dark type bloodline. Means Dark type Pokemon moves have no effect on you.

Now both host and his Pokemon can perform Bond Evolution.

Bond Evolution: In this state Pokemon's base stats increased by 110. ]

Seeing this new tab Alex was dumbfounded for a moment before burst out in a maniac laughter. Because Bond Evolution was even better than Mega Evolution.

After he calmed down a little, he looked at Darkrai, " Darkrai are you ready to perform Bond Evolution? " Darkrai nodded eagerly for the first time.

" Alright, let's go. Bond Evolution. "

In the next moment Darkrai was surrounded by a thick vail of darkness. But soon the veil of darkness receded and the new form of Darkrai was revealed.

Her red scarf like neck was burning with a dark flame and red totemic thick armor adorned her chest and waist.

A palm sized green crystal was now shining at the centre of her chest and finally her white hair had now red flame like patterns to the end. Her frame also grew in size as the result of Bond Evolution.

" Hahaha...Darkrai now you are looking like a gladiator of darkness. But your new look was definitely a cool one. " Alex said and hugged Darkrai's new massive frame.

" Now, Darkrai use Shadow Ball. Let's see how much strength did you gain after this evolution!! " Darkrai obeyed and conjured a huge Shadow Ball.

Looking at the extra large Shadow Ball, Alex was petrified on the spot. If her previous ones were of the size of a football then now the Shadow Ball was like a gymnastic ball.

As expected the destruction followed by the impact was also multifold.

Now that everything was clear he decided to perform this Bond Evolution only with his future Mythical or Legendary Pokemon.

With this Alex's trip of Viridian Forest was over. With Darkrai's new form and Alex's mastery over his power their team was ready to face any tough opponent.
