5 III. Oops

Lewis during class hours, as any other students, listened intentionally to the teacher. Being an A student doesn't work by itself. Liam found it being such a hassle knowing that he will just pass either way.

So why not spare yourself with the effort of trying too hard.

"...This is how you solve trigonometric functions." The math teacher ended his discussion and on cue the bell rung.

"Yes! No more math!" Liam basically shouted with a lone tone. Basically, like a whisper that didn't come out right.

"Yeah, yeah. What do you want for lunch?" Lewis looked at his friend. "Let's go get burgers. I've been craving that since yesterday."

"You have? Why didn't you get those with him?"

"He didn't seem the type, actually he's vegan." Liam grumbled. "Oh no." He sighed. "No shit... But he's loaded so fuck it."

Lewis laughed; Liam would never fail to make him laugh. They got their bags and left the room. "What do you think about the new guy?"

"Hmmm, nothing out of the ordinary... Actually, he went the same way as me. We rode the same bus." Liam's eyes sparkled. "No way! Really?!"

"Yeah..." Lewis scratched his head. "Wow..." Liam sudden mood swift made him flinch. "Yeah like you'll actually talk to the guy. Considering how reserved you are, chances or less than zero."

"Ha! Is that a dare?" Lewis taunted.

"Oho oho, you getting ambitious dear?"

"If I managed to talk to him-" Liam cut him off. "And become his friend to the point that the both of you actually hangout." Lewis tried to protest but Liam stopped him. "Alone."

"Oh, come on! You think I'm that smooth?"

"We'll see, hon." Liam slapped his butt and cackled loudly. "You started this dare and you will be the one who will end it. If you manage to do that within three months-"

"But!"

"Three months, I will personally buy you all the series from Forever Yours."

Lewis felt so pressured. He can't possibly pass up the offer but chances of him achieving all of the conditions are so low. Yeah, lower than zero.

"But, but..." Liam snickered. "Tick tock Lewie." Lewis reluctantly nodded and sighed. "You got yourself a deal. You better not scam me!"

"Ha, me? Scamming you? Please, I can easily ask for what you need from him, no biggie. The pressure is on you and your introverted little self."

Liam continued. "Seriously, you are quite the looker Lewis, just you step out of your comfort zone."

"You think I can actually do that?" Lewis looked at him with sparkling eyes, full of hope.

"No." Liam flatly rejected causing Lewis to grumble. "Why am I not surprised?" He rolled his eyes.

The duo ordered burgers to satisfy Liam's craving. And here is Lewis, daydreaming on how to get close to Matthew Harris. The new guy who really didn't make quite the impression during introduction.

Sure there were whispers here and there but, Matthew had that well-kept nature in him. The mysterious air surrounds him is kind of his asset. With brown hair and a chiseled face, anyone would stare.

Oh but his eyes... His eyes, they were immaculately blue like a calm sea that could drown you and you will let yourself be filled in it. 'Am I actually going to succeed?' All of the mustered confidence Lewis had been all blown away by reality.

"Too early for regrets Lew. You gonna finish that?" Liam pointed at his mashed potatoes. "No, you can have it." He passed it to his friend who is munching cheerfully on the food.

"Seriously Liam, are you pregnant or something? Sheesh, that's you third burger and mashed potatoes." Lewis scrunched his nose.

"Yeah, I wish Lewis. But no kidding, these days, I've been so hungry, like what is happening to me."

"I know what you have."

"What?"

"It's called IHS." Liam sipped on his drink. "What does that mean?" Lewis stoically answered. "Idiot on a Hunger Strike."

His comment made Liam squirt the liquid in his mouth all over their food. He wiped his mouth. "You piece of shit!" Liam laughed loudly. "And here I thought that was a real thing. Seriously..." He clutched his stomach.

"How can you fool around and not give a single smile to that?"

"It's part of my charm." Lewis did the half body heart like forming his hands into a heart shape. "Yeah, yeah dummy. I can't believe there is coke everywhere in our food."

"You can have mine."
