1 [Chapter 1]
3rd Person POV~
June 17, 1998
[12 midnight]
It was cold and dark, the wind is howling.. as the thunderstorm pass by... somewhere in an alley where there are no lights to be found as only a strike of lightning creates a hint of light to the dark alley.. illuminated a silhouette of a man walking away from a girl who is after him. His face looks furious and angry.. heavy breaths with its closed fist like he was about to punch her.
"James! Wait please... let's talk about this", said the girl. "Veronica please its enough, i had enough! I can't take it anymore! Let's stop this bullcrap", said James while he continuously walks away from Veronica, but Veronica keeps forcing James to stay and it led her to grab his arms. "James please.. don't leave.. i am begging you, only you and my aunt are the ones left in my life, i don't wanna lose you too, let's talk please...", said Veronica while grabbing and holding his arms.
"Talk??!! For what??! We're done! We're over! I had enough of you everything is always about you and your stupid past.. how about me huh? How about me?!", said James with a raging tone of anger. "Please don't find me anymore because we're done Veronica, goodbye", he added and completely walked further away from Veronica.
As Veronica kneeled on the ground crying.. begging screaming out for the name of his boyfriend, while on a very stormy night.
Her clothes was very soaked and so is her body, the rain keeps pouring hard, the wind is getting stronger like it was some kind of a strong Typhoon, while on a glimpse of an eye a light coming from a vehicle coming towards were Veronica is then stopped.
Veronica's POV~
I was kneeling on the ground.. crying..don't know what to do.. then a sudden light flashed before my eyes.. a vehicle stopped right before me..i can't see clearly who it was.. but its coming for me.
"Nica?! What the hell are you doing?! You know its raining cats and dogs right now, your gonna get sick.. uggh! Sigh.. do you have a death wish or something??! Come on stand up and come with me let's go to my house".
When all my vision is clear and i was back again into my senses, i saw that she was my bestest friend...Ava.
She's really kind.. and smart, caring and thoughtful like some kind of a mother to me.
She brought me to her car and get a thick towel from the back of her car and asked me what happened while she's starting the car and starts to drive it.
"What happened to you Nica? Why are you in the center of the road in that alley? Come on tell me", she asked.
"Oh..its just James.. he broke up with me", i answered.
"James??! Ugh! That slimy son of a b*tch.. if i saw him im gonna strangle him to death!.. i told you back then he's nothing but a selfish *sshole.. who always takes you for granted, ugh..that b*tch", said Ava with an angry and shocked tone.
I just lowered my head and just looked at the mirror of the car watching the rain as it pours hard with a gust of wind.
In a few moments.. i didn't notice to myself that i was slowly falling asleep.. slowly closing my eyes.. as tiredness and sleepiness.. took over.
[Veronica's dream]
3rd Person POV~
*flashback*
It was summer season, the wind is cold with a little warm feeling. While there's two girls sat on a wide field on a hill with a scent of fresh flowers and medium cuts of grass swaying while the wind blows gently, they talk for a bit as they watch the sunset.
" Nica, can you promise me something.. that wherever we are.. we'll still be watching each other", said the lil' girl.
"Of course Elise, for my greatest lil' sister and best friend..i promise", Veronica answered.
"Do you promise..? Even till death? You promise?", Elise asked again.
"Yup.. promise", Veronica replied.
In a few moments.. after they swear their promises Elise.. suddenly disappears from Veronica's sight.. little by little..as the wind blows with the beautiful image of Veronica's sister.
Then all of a sudden..Elise reappears to her older sister saying all her sweet words to Veronica..
"I love you big sis, i miss you.. remember your promise okay?..", Elise said with the sweetest and gentle smile then hugged her sister, and Elise.. continuously disappeared.
Veronica's POV~
After everything i saw in that dream, i suddenly felt that the car has stopped then i opened my eyes.
As i touch my face, i felt my tears shed with my expression of being sad mix with happiness and also being heartbroken.
"Hey Nica we're here, wait for me im gonna get an umbrella", said Ava.
After she get it, she get off the car and went to my door and opened it then lend me an umbrella until we get inside to her house.
She let me sat on the sofa and brought me some thick blankets and towels so i wont get cold, and also the water wont drip on the floor.
"Wait there okay? Imma get you some spare clothes so you can change, you might get sick", said Ava as i nod and let her get the clothes.
While i was waiting for her to comeback, i suddenly remembered the dream i saw earlier at the car.
The image of my little sister Elise and all of those sweet words she told me that made my heart melt,hearing her voice again even if its just a dream..i miss her.
I remember the times that we usually play in the rain, jumping on some rain puddles.
After that we wash off ourselves in the back of our house,playing with the water hose while our mother prepares us some hot coco that we could drink after taking a bath..we even put tiny marshmallows on top of it because its really good.
Few moments later i suddenly got disturbed by Ava from the things that i have been thinking then she gave me the warm pair of clothes.
"Here are the clothes Veronica,you can wash yourself and get change now, you can use the bathroom over there near the kitchen",said Ava.
After she gave me the clothes i gave her the approach of my gratefullness from what she have done for me, i hugged her real tight then went to the kitchen bathroom.
I didn't took loong in the showers because i might get sick, because its really early in the morning. I dried myself and changed my clothes real quick then i go out of the bathroom and went to the living room, seeing Ava asleep on the sofa totally knocked out because of tiredness.
I checked the time on my phone and it was 3:00 am already. I put some blankets on Ava then i kissed her forehead and saying thanks to her in a whisper tone.Later on i put some bed sheets on the floor and got totally knocked out from everything that happened tonight.
...
[A few hours later~]
...
I have been awaken then i checked the time on my phone it was 10:00 in the morning..i stand up and checked over Ava. She is still on the sofa sleeping like a baby, i didn't wanna wake her up so i went to the kitchen to get something to eat.
I checked the fridge and i saw a milk,i also checked the kitchen cabinet and then i saw a box cereal. I get a bowl and some spoon then i put the cereal and the milk to the bowl, i've also get some for Ava just in case if she woke up or something from her sleep.
While i was eating, the thing happened to me and James last night suddenly came up into my mind. I can't get it out of my head that the way he just left me after all the things i have done for him.
I can still feel the pain of my aching heart because of all the things he had said to me before he left me in the rain..crying and begging for him. I really have a lot in mind right now while feeling really sad.
Later on i heard something fell on the living room then i thought it was Ava. I heard her heading to the kitchen with still a bit of yawning, "Goodmorning Nica!!", Ava said.
I was shocked because of the energy she gaved me, "F*ckin hell Ava earlier you were like a zombie and now your gonna jump at me like that?", i said to her.
"Oops my bad..hehe sorry", Ava replied.
After that happened i gaved her the cereal with milk in the bowl that i prepared for her earlier. She seated at the table too and then we ate together our breakfast while she suddenly asked," Btw what happened between the both of you last night? like the whole story," Ava asked.
"Oh its just James.. he broked up with me he texted me that we should meet up at our favorite spot that we usually hangout to..then when we both got there he said that he wanna break up ..because he had enough and then he walked away until we got caught up in the rain and in that alley", I said to Ava.
"Sigh is he f*ckin blind? can't he see that you are the one who's always there for him, you're the one who always put himself first, everytime that you said to him about your past he would just get mad at you. It's much better if you just leave him he's no good for you, don't worry once i saw that guy i'm gonna make sure that he's gonna go bald so cheer up Nica", Ava said to me.
I just nodded and smiled at her with my words of appreciation. " By the way where did you go last night? Why is it so late and your still up and headed on that alley?", i suddenly asked Ava.
" Ah i just went to my grandparents' house, they said they're alone so i came and take care of them, my grandparents told me not to go home last night because it was already late but i insist 'cause theres no one at my house", Ava answered.
"Well where are your parents?", i asked.
"Oh they went on a Company Outing, they are gonna be gone for a couple of days though", she said.
"Just stay there okay?I'll handle the dishes from here", she said again and then she lift up our bowls and starts to wash them in the kitchen sink.
Ava is really kind, smart, generous, and a thoughtful person but there is one thing that is a problem on her..she's really forgetful like as in literally.
She is my classmate since we were in highschool, she is the only true best friend i had in my entire life not like the other people i have met..they are really toxic and not so friendly for me.
Not like Ava she is like a sister to me.

....
After all of those i've heard Ava like she's really up to something," Hey Nica do you wanna go out like to the mall?? pleaaaseee i know how you love shopping so let's go, get yourself up ready so we can leave sooner", Ava said with an excited tone.
"Meh..am still sleepy-w-", then i rushed back again to the living room and jumped over the sofa then closed my eyes.
"Ughhh Veronica your such an kill joy *sshole", Ava said with an whispered tone.
"Wait what did you just say?! i think there is something you'd like to share with me ", i replied to her with an quite raged voice.
"Umm..hehe nothing its just the wind", Ava said nervously.
I sighed then i stand up from how i layed on the sofa and then i walked closer to Ava.
"Fine i'm gonna take a shower now so that we can leave already, i wanted to feel the breeze outside and chill for a while..you know just to ease myself from what happened and of course shopping", i replied to Ava with a bit of smile on my face.
"Really??Yes!! okay so im gonna take a bath also, just get some clothes on my closet", Ava said with her expression of child that is really happy to go out.
...
[A few minutes later]
....
I was already outside Ava's house while waiting for her to finish..i was a lil' bored and unease so i called her again.
"Hey! Avaaa! you've been taking forever, how long am i going to wait you're the one who's excited and now you're taking long", i shout at her then later on she went outside.
"Alright alright here i am see, geez i'm just double checking some things i might forget something again..you're such a grumpy ol' troll, well i've saw that today is sale day OMG! we can buy lots of stuff", Ava answered.
When she finally stepped out of the door she opened the garage door on where her car is parked while she suddenly said...
"Umm.. so i might left the car keys inside"
"Heh..i've thought you've doubled checked everything? sigh..classic Ava you're really forgetful", i said to her.
She rushed back inside to get the car keys then she went right out after she got it.
Ava opened up the door and then she went inside and starts to run the engine while i went inside right beside the drivers seat. After the engine is heated she starts the car and moved it backwards further away on the garage.
Then we finally went on our way until we get to crossed the Express way. The mall we're going through is really far from Ava's house so we're gonna try to find a shortcut or something.
"Hey Ava do you know the way to the AMall?", i asked her.
"Umm..maybe? i forgot sorry", Ava answered.
"Mierda! c'mon Ava you're really forgetful", i said to her. "sigh..good thing i still remember where plus i have brought a GPS for us just in case", i added.
(Mierda=sh*t)
After almost 1 hour we have reached our destination, we tried to find some parking spot because this mall is really big. When we've finally found some spot we drove over there and told Ava what to bring then we went outside of the car.
It was really hot outside and you can see a lot of people because it's sale day here at AMall plus you can see that their are lots of people with different race.
We fall in line to all the people that are about to went inside the Mall, then they checked our bags and finally got inside.
"So..what are we gonna do first?", Ava asked.
"Wait what? you were the one who put us here first and now your gonna ask me what to do?", i replied with an annoyed tone.
"*sniff ..you always pick a fight on me", Ava answered with an sob.
And then she suddenly looked at her cellphone noticed the time."It's 12:00noon already..well i.m not hungry yet though, wait a minute i did said earlier that we're gonna go shopping well what are we waiting for let's go!", Ava added excitedly. Later on we went to the Department Store and checked out some clothes.
"Veronica look at this cute dress that i've found it has pretty flowers on it and it suits you", Ava said excitedly.
"Sure i'll check it out", i replied.
Later on Ava got me the size that it will surely fits me, then i went to the dressing room and tries to wear it. She also gave me some accessories to wear like some kind of bracelet and a necklace that it would look good with dress.
I was astonished by the looks of myself when i looked in the mirror, i froze after i looked into it..suddenly something came up into my mind, a memory with my lil' sister Elise.

November 18,1994
3rd Person POV~
It was a wonderful weather outside you can hear the birds chirping while a sudden gentle breeze blews away the leaves, with the scent of the freshly flowers on the garden.
With a breath taking scenery from the outside, illuminated a sunlight that could light up a room. If you peek closely, a pink room with rose designs on the wall seeing two girls standing in front of a big mirror.
Veronica's POV~
"Woah! that floral dress really looks good on you", said Elise."I've also made a flower crown for you too;however, it is much better with some accessories", she added.
"Gracias Elise", i replied with a pleasant smile.
"Umm..big sis' can you promise me something, that when i reached 16 you'll do the same thing to me too..i really wanted to be as beautiful as you", Elise said.
"Okay,promise", i answered with a big smile on my face.
In a few moments i was dazed and confused ..i have come back into my senses again hearing Ava's voice calling over me outside the dresser room.
"Nica! are you done yet?you've been taking so long it's my turn now", Ava said.
Later on i went out of the dressing room showing Ava the dress she picked for me."Oh look that dress really suits you very well, so are you gonna buy it?", Ava asked.
"Si", i replied with an agreement.
(Si=Yes)
After that Ava went in the dressing room and tries to fit the clothes she picked herself, Ava didn't took long later on she went out of the dressing room and agreed to pay already for the clothes that she tried on.

[A few minutes later]
...
When we're done paying for the clothes we went out of the Department Store then Ava invited me on something.
"Hey Nica! let's watch a movie, do you want?", Ava asked. "I'll pay for the foods, so let's go?", she added.
"Certainly, just make sure you're gonna buy us some food", i replied. "I'll buy us the tickets, c'mon", i added.

...
In ahead of time we were at the food stalls and ticket booth, meanwhile a shocking word has been spoken from the manager of the mall that made everyone terrified....
