11 Pick a fight

"Big Bro, I owe you a lot all these years so at the very least let me repay you this time..." Saeki excitedly tapped on his phone seemingly searching, "I think what you're lacking is some skill!"

Shin "..." What skill?

Tristan "???"

Saeki's eyes lit up as he bounced to Shin's side with his phone, out of curiosity, Tristan also moved to their side to see whatever it was he was trying to demonstrate.

Not long after, an X-rated scene flooded the phone screen, and the loud sound of squeaking, moaning and groaning echoed.

Ahem!

Tristan wore a wry smile as he gradually distanced himself from the fool who just dug his own grave.

--

At the same time, Yeri is taking a short break at the school cafe after the morning class, she was away for almost a month, and catching up with her studies over the weekend wasn't easy.

"Uh, why don't you just kick this player in the group...he's a burden!" Levi cursed while typing on his laptop.

Yeri lightly laughed as her fingers danced on the keyboard.

If she needed a hobby to de-stress it would be playing her favorite online game.

Tartarus: Conqueror's requiem, is the most popular MMORPG game with over 30 million monthly active users, and also one of the highest-paying e-sport games.

Yeri's game character was Scarlet Succubus which she now found ironic after her awakening.

"We did it!" Levi shouted upon gaining a victory, "Our team made it in on top, do you think will get an invitation to this year's e-sport competition?"

Yeri shrugged her shoulders, not really interested.

"Tsk, what are you being happy for it's just a game!" Nina rolled her eyes while sipping her milk tea.

"You're saying that because you have no talent."

Nina glared at Levi, annoyed. "Who said I don't? If you talk about talent then I can beat you up right now with just one hand!"

"Violent woman!" Levi sneered.

"Twig!" Nina retorted.

"The two of you shut up, still fighting at this age?" Yeri sighed.

Rather than childhood friends maybe they're childhood enemies.

Both love sports but it was like two sides of a coin, Nina is obsessed with martial arts and won different taekwondo competitions while Levi prefers online games and is a known professional gamer.

Both are also good-looking, Nina has the features of a runway model while Levi has a face prettier than most girls except he is too skinny for a boy.

Yeri got acquainted with them during middle school.

Levi admired Yeri's gaming skills despite losing to her many times while Nina saw them as two weak chicks huddling together and she just felt the need to protect them like a mother chicken.

In the long run, Nina also developed an admiration for Yeri since she never used her poor health or appearance to take advantage of other people or situations.

"Yeri Zhi!"

The three of them turned their heads simultaneously in the same direction.

"Brother Jj?"

A tall, handsome man with an athletic physique in a white tee, and blue sports jacket paired with jeans approached them.

"Auntie said you moved back to your dorm without their permission?" Jj asked slightly tired and irritated.

SC University's College and High school campus may be interconnected but both campuses have quite a distance.

Yeri pursed her lips, "They worry too much, I already explained over the phone that I'm alright, don't you think it's even more tiring to travel back and forth while catching up on my studies?"

Jj didn't forget to greet Nina and Levi before answering Yeri, "That might be the case but what about your medicine?"

'Ugh, that useless bitter medicine!' Yeri cursed inwardly, too bad she had no other way to convince her parents that she didn't need any medicine so she could only endure.

"Okay, I'll go home the next weekend to get my medicine."

"Don't wait that long, I'll go home tomorrow and give it to you the next day."

Jj's biological parents were a distant relative of the main family, he was adopted by Yeri's Father when he was just five and since then lived with them.

"Ah, I suddenly remember! Brother Jj, you're so mean you arrested Yeri that night but didn't even bother to let me know!" Nina sounded aggrieved.

Yeri who was sipping her milk tea almost choked, she forgot Nina had mistaken Shin Keir for her cousin.

Truthfully, she wanted to tell Nina about Shin Keir but on second thought, she didn't want to complicate her relationship with him.

Unexpectedly, trouble went knocking soon.

Jj sat next to Levi and was facing Nina. "That night? What night?"

"Did she not tell you I'm with her? I was so scared and worried I almost called-"

Yeri immediately poked Nina's waist, not giving her a chance to continue, "Nothing it was a long time ago, I think when you picked me up at the back gate and I forgot to message her that we already left."

Nina subtly flinched, looked at her strangely, and pouted.

It was like a tacit understanding between the two not to talk by poking the other's waist.

Jj eyed the two inexplicably, there were many instances he would drive through the back gate to pick up Yeri whenever they went home together for the weekend.

"Why did you feel scared and worried?" Jj asked Nina.

"That..." Nina gave Yeri a side-eye also confused.

There seems to be some conspiracy she wasn't aware of.

"It was because of a stalker," Yeri replied instead.

"Again?!" Jj and Levi reacted at the same time.

Yeri waved her hand, "Don't worry the guy is an outsider and I haven't seen him nowadays, maybe he found another hobby."

"Do you think stalkers are that easy to talk with, just tell them to find another hobby and that's it? Amongst the many unresolved cases, stalking is the most repeated offense and it continuously increased recently. I told you many times to inform me immediately if this thing happens again, don't be careless!"

Yeri guiltily scratched her head listening to Jj's scolding, she just wracked her brains for an immediate excuse but somehow she just knocked on another trouble.

Levi nodded to Jj in agreement, "You rarely go out of school so how did you attract that stalker, are you sure he was an outsider?"

"He doesn't look familiar to me." Yeri just shrugged her shoulders.

Anyway, the stalker doesn't exist so it doesn't matter even if they report it.

"This can do, I'll tell Uncle about it and you tell me exactly what that guy looks like." Jj took out his phone about to call Yeri's father.

Fortunately, the school bell rang indicating that the afternoon class would start soon.

Yeri felt relieved and ignored Nina's questioning gaze.

--

Later that night, she was about to sleep when her phone rang.

Yeri leaned lazily on the headboard as she answered the call without checking who it was.

"Hello?"

"You can still sleep after lying, aren't you afraid of nightmares?"

Yeri lightly laughed, "Nina, it's almost midnight besides, I didn't lie to you, how could you blame your gorgeous friend for your bad eyesight."

After Jj left, she only told Nina that it wasn't her cousin who carried her that night.

Don't know what Shin Keir is up to but he's so different from his public image, perhaps he has a split personality?

Whatever it is, it would be better not to involve the people around her if possible.

"Yz, you insisted on going out that night and just abandoned me, don't you think I deserve to know the truth? Where is your conscience?!" Nina hollered.

"Oh~ I sent it on vacation...alright we still have class tomorrow, goodnight my lovely Nina!" Yeri said in a coquettish tone before ending the call.

With such a persistent personality, what is she going to do with her?

Just when Yeri thought about it her phone rang once again.

"..."

Yeri sighed heavily, it's really exhausting to reason with a little brat!

"What are you, 5? If you want to pick a fight let's do it tomorrow, okay?"

"..."

"Not talking?" Yeri frowned not hearing a response, Nina this little brat, does she want to play ghost this time?

"Since you have a lot of free time to schedule a fight, why didn't you reply to my messages?"

Yeri almost dropped the phone hearing the man's dangerously low and husky voice.

Mother, it's really a ghost!

What kind of coincidence is this, did Nina curse her?

"Yeri Zhi, you dare to hang up?" Shin's tone of voice got colder hearing no response.

Yeri patted her chest while looking at the words 'Dog Villain' displayed on her phone screen. "I'm still here..."

"Do I have to pick a fight with you just so you will answer the phone?"

Yeri cleared her throat, somehow she could picture his gloomy face just by listening to his tone of voice. "I was joking with a friend...something?"

"You have the time to joke with your friend but couldn't reply to my messages?"

"I was busy catching up with my studies over the weekend."

"Was it so hard to tell me that? Would you have answered the phone had you known it was me?" Shin rebuked.
