5 Chapter 5: The Plan

*Beep**Beep**Beep*

''Yawn~''

As I wake up, I grogally reach for the alarm clock, realizing there's none there. I hastily look around the room, confused.

Only to remember what has transpired for the past few months and calm down.

Sitting on the side of my bed, I stretch and try to wake up. I walk out of the now cozy house , only to be met with the sun's blinding light.

As my eyes slowly adjust, I go over to the gentle, clear blue stream. Leaning down to appreciate the handsome young lad in the reflection. Reaching my handout into the water I grab some in my hands ruining the near perfect reflection and washing my face.

The cold water gently splashes onto my face, awaking me completely and prompts me to sit back down and enjoy the nature around me. Listening to the sound of birds singing, the gentle water flowing down the stream and against rocks, and basking in the warm cozy rays of the sun, I sat there for 5 more minutes.

Getting up I check myself in the reflection of the water. Gone was the dirty 5 year old kid in rags, in his place was a cute and adorable 6~7 year old child with great promise for the future. With an innocent and slightly mischievous aura, and a nice lean look with his beautiful pure white hair with tips of very pale blue, gently cascading down his back in a wild and aloof form, shining brightly under the warm sunny rays.

His majestic yet adorable garments highlighted his cuteness and gave him a slight scholarly touch as if bursting with excitement to explore and learn. Consisting of a simple and slightly loose button up shirt snuggly sitting atop his torso and rolled up to his elbows, and brown denim jeans that were just slightly big on him, yet fit quite well. He also only had a few accessories with a purple flow like hair piece behind his left ear, a purplish-blue ascot like Fred from 'scooby doo'. This was his [Respectable clothing] set he had received from the [Sorry Gift] . It was only missing a brown overcoat which matched the pants and a watch which wouldn't look good on a kid.

After the boy was done admiring his own handsomeness and sheer adorableness he took his gaze away from his reflection and stared at the sky, with a sigh he reminisced the past 2 years.

''It's already been 2 years…huh'' a gentle mumbled rolled out of his mouth, with a voice so soothing it could even be used as a lullaby for crying children.

It's been about 2 years since the day I named Uriel. That day I woke up I had decided to build a solid plan and stick to it no matter what.

''Yawn~''

Waking up at 8 AM in the morning a certain white haired boy with enchanting purple eyes yawned and tried to ignore his back pain.

''Ah shit, my back'' Izumi cursed as he slowly got up and got ready for the new day.

Sitting on his bed Izumi looked at his system, after asking Uriel to open it.

''Uriel, I think it's finally time to check out the [Mission] Function'' he declared in a slightly excited voice.

[Understood opening [Missions]...]

[Missions]

[Daily Missions] (New)

[World Missions] (None)

''Hmm… Uriel, why don't I have any [World Missions]?'' I asked, somewhat disappointed.

[It's due to the fact that you are currently neither part of the plot nor in the main settings, where most of the events happen.]

''Does that mean I have to wait for that virgin to start his journey!?'' I quickly asked impatiently.

[No, as there are many [World Missions] that can be done outside of the presence of the main cast or MC as many things can be done or even stolen from the main characters, whether it be opportunities, destinies, or items. In fact you may complete some tasks here, however due to the lack of involvement in the plot or main cast the rewards will be negligible, so much so that the system doesn't even register it as a [World Mission].]

''Ok, so basically, I don't need to wait for canon, just gotta get to where it all happens.'' I repeated for confirmation.

[Yes, basically]

''Then in that case let's see what we have for [Daily Missions], Uriel'' I said expectantly.

[Understood opening [Daily Missions]...]

[Daily Mission]

[Daily Mission 1: Train (Body)]

[Daily Mission 2: Train (Sword)]

[Daily Mission 3: Huntiner (Monsters & Beasts)]''

Looking through the missions I noticed there were only a few, which kinda made me a little disappointed.

[As you have just unlocked the [Mission] there will only be a few, over time the [Daily Missions] may change to suit your goals or needs, new missions may also be created.]

''Oh so it's based on what I need, huh. That is actually pretty useful''

Clicking on the missions I saw 3 panels open up in front of me, all pertaining with information on their respective missions.

________________

Looking through the [Daily Missions] and their rewards, I felt a sense of anticipation slowly starting to grow in my heart. After getting my hopes up too much I asked the questions I had in the back of my head.

''Uriel, what are the 'bonus rewards' and how do they work.''

[The 'bonus rewards' are rewards given after completing a task a certain amount of times in the case of the [Training] missions they are rewarded based on how many times you complete the [Daily Mission] in a row, evident by the '1 month' and '1 year'. However the only downside being if you are unable to complete even 1 your count will be reset. Whereas the [Hunting] mission is based on how many times you complete the mission without any time parameters, evident by the lack of a time limit. This is due to monsters being harder to find and therefore the mission being harder to complete.]

''So… the 'bonus rewards' for the [Training] missions are based on my completion streak and the [Hunting] missions are based on how many times I do it because it's harder.'' I try to clarify.

[Yes, basically.]

[However, it is important to notice that some missions including these increase in difficulty to facilitate growth.]

''Oh, so they get harder as I get better, huh.''

[Yes, basically.]

''hmm…I think I should make a plan first, since I doubt I'll be able to keep that kind of schedule. Uriel, any ideas?'' I ask my trusty system.

[It is recommended to use the [Promise Keeper]]

''I forgot I had that.'' I say as I take out the item.

[The [Promise keeper] is a helpful tool but it is not omnipotent. I have a recommended plan if you wish to listen.]

''Sure, let me hear it.'' I urge Uriel to let me hear her master plan.

[I recommend using the [Promise keeper] to make 2 promises; 1 set it to prioritize all [Daily missions] above everything except personal safety for the duration of 2 years (to build the habit). This is because most if not all food sources you currently have are automated and the [Hunting] mission will also help you gain food. And 2 stop using [Gacha] units after the 2 years mark.]

''Wait not the [Gacha]!'' I yell, as my budding gacha addiction slowly takes over.

[This is determined to be the best course of action to reduce over dependence and use the [Gacha] as a tool to motivate you.]

I contemplate in silence for a few minutes, only to sigh and agree with a dejected mood.

''Fine.'' I say, slightly reluctant.

[Understood, setting parameter for [Promise Keeper], for the duration of 2 years...Done.]

*Riiip~*

With my eyes closed, I shakily rip the [Promise Keeper] in half, sealing the promise and making my mind a lot clearer, however I feel I can overcome this urge, for some reason.

[The [Promise Keeper] isn't meant to be a binding contract and at the level it was at, you may break free of it, if you really want to.]

''Oh.. that's good I guess.''

And so I set off for my training arc.
