1 Prologue

*POOF* I jumped on my couch and turned on my PS8. 'I wonder how the good the graphics are,' I wondered as I scrolled through the menus. I selected the store and went straight to deals. "Wait is that GTA 6!" I shouted as quickly clicked the icon. "Oh wait, it's another gta 5 remaster." I went back to my game library and scrolled through to find a good game. I stopped on an icon with a jet flying through clouds. The game, Ace Combat changed the whole gaming industry with how the creators merged real life and science fiction. The last Ace Combat that came out, released years ago, but I still like to come back to it occasionally. *growl* My stomach growled loudly and I heard a chuckle coming from the hallway. "While your out, get me some more ice cream," said a feminine voice. "...fine," I let out a dramatic sigh and hoped she wouldn't touch my PS8 while I'm out getting food. I put on a pair of jeans with a white t-shirt and walked out the door. "Huh, I wonder why there's so much traffic today?" I muttered to myself as I locked the door.

Everything seemed to be a daze, as I instinctively walked down the street to the gas station. I woke out of my daze after stopped in front of the gas station. A little girl with dusty clothes suddenly ran up to me and hid behind while clutching my shirt. "Stop that girl!" yelled a voice from down the street. I turned around and was met with an older man that was trying to catch his breath. "Huff huff, thank you...for stopping...her before she...got hurt," sputtered the man. He grabbed the girls arm and yanked her from behind me. I heard the girl let out a little whimper. Something inside snapped and I quickly put myself between the old man and the girl. "Don't you think that was a little extreme," I quickly said while trying to keep my composure. "Mind your own business," spat back the old man. I grabbed the man's wrist, twisted as hard as I could, and ran off with the little girl.

I picked up the girl and started running faster down the street. I kept running until an intersection filled to the brim with destroyed cars blocked out escape. "We get pass here and that old bastard will never catch up," I said to the girl who was now shivering in my arms. Hearing my words, the girl visibly calmed down and muttered, "Thank you." I replied with a playful smirk and focused back on the little catastrophe that happened. I heard numerous horns from cars stuck in a standstill on the road, but I decided to cross anyway. Halfway across, I heard screaming in the distance. I froze like a deer in headlights and slowly turned my head towards the screaming. "Is that a truck?" muttered the little girl as she also turned towards the commotion. It was a truck barreling through cars and headed straight for us. There was barely any time to think as the truck would reach us in seconds. In a split second, I knew what I had to do. I looked the little girl straight in the eyes and said, "Keep going, I'll be fine." The little girl started panicking as I gave her a small smile. I pulled back my arms before using all my strength to throw her to the other side of the street. Time slowed to a crawl as my life flashed before my eyes. Me and the girl's eyes met for the final time before everything went black.
