"He's my husband."
George stared at his son after Alex said those words. He was stunned for a moment that he could not say a single thing and he believed the same goes to his wife. Just this morning they were frantically looking for their youngest son and now Alex is telling them the Alpha standing beside him is his husband. It sounded so ridiculous given the man's status, he may be just a common restaurant owner but he still knows who this man is. His name speaks enough of his elite status and there's no way someone like him would be taking an Omega for a wife.
"Alex quit this nonsense. It's not polite to joke at your boss' expense." George said laughing, trying to lighten the mood. "I'm sorry Mr. Andersen, my son can be a little playful sometimes. Please don't take it against him." He said, turning to Keith apologetically.
George can sense that Alex is scared to talk to them with the way he is fidgeting. It must be because he got them worried and with him ending up in a hospital all bruising up will definitely end with a scolding from him and his wife. Since he was a kid Alex feared getting scolded and hated. It took a while for them to assure him that scolding him for things he did wrong will not mean they hated him enough to abandon him. He guess hearing stories of Omega's being abandoned by his family made him think like that.
They haven't been fully informed yet of what happened but looking at their son's bruised and beaten up body, he immediately concludes that his son was assaulted. There were numerous attacks on Omega's lately which is why they were so worried when they couldn't get hold of Alex. He gritted his teeth thinking about what their son had to go through to end up looking like this. He's not the type of person who wishes ill on others but he hopes whoever did this to his son will rot in jail.
"Alex, you're mom and I are not mad at you okay? We're just worried about you since we could not get hold of you last night but we are glad to find you safe. That's all that matters so there's no need to make a joke like this." George said to his son who he thinks is scared that they got mad for worrying them. "I'm sure Mattie's not mad as well. I'm really sorry about this Mr. Andersen and we're grateful for all your help." He said but he was confused that Alex is still looking worried, his boss' obviously not taking it as a joke and his eldest son is not showing any reaction at all. Speaking of their eldest son, Matt is awfully quiet considering the situation which baffles George. Is he wrong in his assumption? Was this man actually the one who assaulted their son? If yes, then why in the hell is Alex saying this man is his husband?
"Were you already married the last time we met?" Helena suddenly asked accusingly. She's somehow felt betrayed that Alex didn't tell her anything. If they are really married, Alex should have told her considering that she was aware that her son has an Alpha in his life already.
"Helena, what are you talking about?" George asked, getting more confused. It seemed to him that his wife knew something about this whole situation. Does that mean, Alex is not being playful and joking around? He unconsciously glanced at his eldest son and noticed his stoic expression as if he's not surprised at all which is weird considering how Matt doted on his younger brother.
"Alex!" Helena screamed her son's name, waiting for a response.
"I ahmm… I'm sorry Mom." Alex said fidgeting, Keith's hands are on his shoulders giving him encouragement. "We.. we got married after.. after we've met on your medical check up." Alex exclaimed.
"Why didn't you tell us? Do you think we will be so against this that you have to lie to me and your Dad?" Helena said feeling hurt and betrayed.
Alex could not respond to that, he just wiped the tears that he didn't realize were already streaming down his face. His mom was right, why did he really not tell them about it when his Mom already knew that he's already seeing someone.
"You're both confusing me." George stated and he felt dizzy he almost fell on the floor if not for Martin's quick reflex.
"Daaad!" Alex called out while Helena checked on her husband, momentarily forgetting about Alex and Keith.
"I'm okay, I am not that weak. You both better start explaining things. How long have you been keeping these things from me?" George looked at his wife and son feeling hurt. He sat down on the chair Martin provided him.
"Dad, it's not Mom's fault. She doesn't know anything. It was all me. I was the one who didn't tell you the truth." Alex said, crying.
"Then why didn't you tell us? We are your parents, we have the right to know what's going on with you. Is finding out the truth with you lying on that bed with your body all beaten up better than telling us up front? Is worrying us better than telling us the truth?" George said, raising his voice.
"Ahmm Sir.. I mean Mr. and Mrs Fernandez, please don't blame Alex." Keith interrupted. "It was all my fault. Please blame it all on me. It was my selfishness that started this. I married Alex hastily because I'm afraid to part with him since we bonded. I beg for your forgiveness for not asking for your blessing. I'm really sorry for that but I will not apologize for marrying Alex. I really love him and our little Bean." Keith bowed his head in repentance.
"Keith, stop it. What do you mean not to blame me? I was the one who asked you to marry me. It was my own decisiveness." Alex cried trying to reach Keith with his free hand.
Helena sighed deeply watching the two love birds. She honestly felt a little hurt and betrayed that Alex didn't tell her about getting married but somehow she expected it to happen but not so soon. Alex is of legal age and would eventually get married and have a family, she just wished that she and George and of course Mattie were there to witness it.
There's no use blaming anyone at this point already. They are married and bonded too. It seems Alex is pregnant as well, blaming him or his husband will not do anyone any good. Besides, she can tell that this Alpha will treat her son well, call that mother instinct or whatever. Somehow, she remembered what Alex told her before that he was kind and gentle to him. She just hoped he would continue to do so.
"Mr. Andersen, we are not opposing you or anything. There's no point in finding out who is to blame. What's done is done." Helena said, she turned to her husband who nodded in agreement. "We just want Alex to be safe and happy. The baby too."
"I promise you, Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez, I will do everything in my power to protect my wife and my child." Keith solemnly replied.
"Does your family know about Alex and the baby?" George asked. He knew marrying an Omega especially if you are an Alpha is not always welcomed. Helena suffered and they had to struggle for years until she was finally accepted by his family. Considering the younger Alpha's status, his family might not be as accepting as them. He doesn't want his son to be ridiculed or belittled by his husband's family.
"No Sir. They don't know yet. I plan to inform them as soon as we settle things on Alex's side." Keith replied.
"Will your family accept my son as their in law?" George asked worriedly.
"I can't say they would do so immediately." Keith replied honestly, he's really not sure what his parents would say. His mom has been pestering him to get married and have children but he's not sure if she would be happy to know he got married and is having a child with an Omega. "What I can promise you is that I will not let what my family say affects our relationship. I will protect Alex and our child no matter what."
George took a deep breath and looked at his wife who's crying and nodding at the same time. He smiled at Helena knowing what she meant.
"We are giving the both of you our blessings but it doesn't mean we forgive you for hiding things from us. We will keep an eye on you and if you hurt my son we will take him back together with our grandchild."
Alex cried happily in Keith's arms upon hearing his father's words.
