Zoe lay on her bed as she reflected on the conversation she had just eavesdropped on between her father and Grace. 

She had been on her way to Grace's room to check on her since they hardly ever had time for chit-chat these days and only talked briefly at the office when she overheard her father talking to Grace.

The 'she' her father had been referring to had to be Ann, right? Since Ann was the 'she' who had traveled recently. If it was Ann, why was their father so concerned about Ann? Was she like his secret daughter from another woman, or was he having an affair with her? She quickly shook her head to discard the thought. 

That was nonsense. There was no way Grace would keep such a thing away from her or their mother. Maybe their father was only being nice and caring because Grace seemed to love Ann a lot.
