Neither Melanie nor Melvin said a word as they followed Mrs. Jiang. "I didn't know what you would want, so I prepared separate bedrooms for you both," Mrs. Jiang said with a smile. 

"No, that won't be necessary. We will share a room. Thank you," Melanie said with a smile, and Melvin nodded in agreement. 

"Okay then. I will just excuse you. We will be waiting for you to join us for breakfast," Mrs. Jiang said with a polite smile as she excused herself from them. 

"Mom? What are you thinking?" Melvin asked his mother the moment they were alone. 

"The young man outside, you know his twin brother?" She asked as she turned around to look at Melvin. 

"Remember the jockey dad didn't want me to meet? That is his twin brother. Brad Carter," Melvin said, and it suddenly occurred to him that Alvin would have known about the resemblance and its implication.
