"Why haven't you been taking your calls?" Brenna, who had been pacing around Grace's room, hissed angrily the moment Grace stepped into the bedroom. 

Grace paused by the door to assess Brenna, who was glaring at her angrily, before deciding that it was safe enough to move further into the room. 

"I was driving. Besides, I was certain I was going to meet you at home, so there was no point listening to you yell over the phone," Grace said with a cautious smile as she dropped her handbag on the dressing table before sitting on the bed to take off her shoes. The last thing she needed was getting into a fight with Brenna, too, after just ending one with Brad. 

"How could you? You promised to keep it to yourself!" Brenna yelled angrily. She had been waiting for Grace all evening since she returned from her lawyer's office and met her parents. 

"Please calm down. My head is aching," Grace said in a small voice as she raised her hand to her head.
