Zhang Wei drove the car as fast as he could while trying to maintain the speed limit. He kept stealing glances at Zoe while also trying to keep his gaze on the road.

How could something like this happen on their first date? It just wasn't a good sign at all. It was bad enough that Zoe kept sobbing beside him, and he couldn't tell if she was crying because of her leg or her father's accident. 

He didn't know what to say to her because he definitely knew he couldn't ask her to calm down. If he were in her shoes, calming down would definitely be the last thing on his mind that he would want to hear. 

"We will be at the hospital soon. Everything will be okay," He tried to assure her, reaching out with one hand to squeeze her hand gently.
