2 Trapped in my office

It was almost ten at night and I was gazing out the window as my co-workers were finishing up printing multiples of paperwork that needed to be sent to different recipients, "Liam, I am bored!"

"Christian, how long do you plan to sit there?" Liam scolded.

Scratching my chin thinking for a few minutes, "Till we got home..." I replied exhaustively letting my head hit the desk closing my eyes, Liam takes a rejected paper crumbling it to toss it at me afterward where I make faux noises of pain.

Ignoring the wad of paper bouncing off my head I continue to resist doing any more work the rest of the night, I could hear them open the folder stuffing the printed notes into the file, "Almost done useless." another female worker chimes.

Someone places their hands over my eyes, "Guess who?"

I smile, "Is it Lenia?" snickering at my courage to insult my fellow associate.

She retracts slapping the back of my head, "Idiot..."

"Sorry Alice, it was too tempting!" I spout only to bust out in laughter, she swings her bag around letting it crack me in the back.

Crying out in pain rubbing the now tender spot, "You are so weak!" Alice replies.

"We work in an office! We aren't meant to be warriors!" I argue as she walks off I decide to follow her since we had nothing better to do.

We exit the office to stroll down a long corridor where we see the night shift janitor mopping, "Hey George, do you ever get spooked cleaning this late at night?" Alice asks, I nudge her to stop, but she is persistent.

He tips his hat leaning forward signaling us to come forward, I get chills by the thought alone staying stationary instead.

"Well about three days ago one of the cleaners reported eyes staring right back at them from the office door, they would suddenly move before vanishing."

"No way? Is the office haunted?" Alice asked curiously, I pull on her sleeve feeling uncomfortable talking about such things.

Her enthusiasm for the sport of paranormal was endless, she could tell you many stories from the top of her head somehow always prepared to explore abandoned places, "Alice!" I shout trembling.

The turn-style doors vibrate loudly, we all pause with our eyes glued to the entrance, George gets closer pressing his face against the glass to find nothing, "I don't see anything." he says with a shrug.

"Best to move to another room George, just the wind shaking the glass." Alice states pushing him away, something about how she spoke didn't sit well with me.

"Hey! Christian, we got papers set for the meeting tomorrow!" Liam yelled with his free hand in the air while the other keeps his leather satchel from moving.

"That's great! So I can finally go home?" I asked relieved, I quickly notice how Liam's attention is turned to someone standing in front of us.

Very tall men dressed in completely black suits stand erect in front of us, their faces carried no emotions, "May we help you?" I asked.

They say nothing at first intimidating us alone with their frozen features, Liam anxiously laughs trying to move past them.

One of the men knocks him back, "You are under no circumstances allowed to leave." He says robotically.

I and Liam look at each other.

"Look we had a rough day, we just want to go home." Liam protested the man's stern words in retaliation of being held, hostage.

My nerves are wrecked watching my co-worker pick a fight with these people dressed as government officials, I tug on his jacket sleeve.

Liam yanks his coat back from my grip, "We should listen to them!" I voice my concerns.

They inch further in on us, one of the men checks his watch periodically scanning the room time from time, "When can we go?" Liam questions impatiently.

All inquiry was avoided, keeping us inside seemed to be their only objective.

I wonder where Alice is, it's been what seems like hours waiting for her to return.

Searching through my handbag I look for my phone, pulling it out the watchman instantly snatches my wrist making me drop my cellphone to the floor.

Liam goes after it as the man examines my palm, I am terrified of what he could see there, "Is there something wrong?"

His grasp on my wrist only tightens, I grunt out to be promptly restrained, the other man jerks my arms handcuffing me, "You need to come with us..."

Liam unexpectedly hurls himself out of anger at one of the men pushing one of them into the rotating doors, their pure muscle mass alone smashed into the glass destroying the framework.

Being shoved away by the other man to the ground flat on my face, audible gunshots could be heard, "Liam!" I scream trying to turn my head.

A body is heard thumping to the ground, a burst of gruff laughter is heard from the doorway, "Stupid bastard..." they mumble.

A fire alarm is heard going off in the distance, I am hauled up to my feet being forced to walk through the newly broken doorway.

Momentarily get a glimpse of Liam's corpse before passing through with the two men, I see a pair of black vans out front.

The other man disperses back into the building while I am being escorted out.

I halt frozen in place, "I want to know why I am being cuffed!" I yelled swinging my arm out from his embrace: he grabs for my collar dragging me out.

Something catches my eye darting in front of us shooting out of my vision, the man drops my capture temporarily, "Stay put!" He says scolding me.

He pulls two weapons from his back pocket, I don't think I saw those before.

I become instantly giddy gripped with the excitement of seeing ryyk blades from what looks like is made from bones welded together.

The blur makes itself known by throwing an uppercut at the suited man, his furiously bright grey eyes could be seen through his fluffy brown hair, the man groans, "Gah!" He shouts being pushed to the side.

He darts back swiftly on his feet, his small stature made him nimble on his feet.

I hear a whistle from behind, "Christian!" A voice calls for me, my attention is drawn to Alice, she motions for me to come; I am torn between viewing a once In lifetime fight or running away.

The man shuffles to his feet in an attempt to swipe his blade at the speedily ready stranger, I decide to abandon the scene running after Alice.

He glances at me in a panic dodging for his life, I stick my tongue out at him as a bit of revenge, "Have fun!" I say waving despite being subdued by chains.

Alice takes my shackled hands smiling ear to ear, we run to the emergency exit by the staircase to be met with another pair of men of black.

Quick on her feet, we go the other way looking where to turn next, "Christian..."

Gazing at the back of her head I felt tense all of the sudden from her calling my name, "Alice?"

Going up the stairs to avoid the people chasing us, Alice extracts a small key from her pocket pushing her weight into what looks like a wall but is secretly a door.

The indentation opens up to reveal a hidden room, Alice hastily locks us in.

Placing her finger over her lips I obey saying nothing more, she pats the inside.

"I think it's not going to open today..." Alice said whispering.

"Why do you look like you know something?" I accuse her.

She leans back relaxing her back against the titled structure, "I do know..."

"You know why I am cuffed?"

"I can't tell you just yet, I ask you to trust me."

"If you know how did you not get caught?"

Taking my bound hands she places them over her chest, closing her eyes briefly my chains fall off as though it were natural.

I sit there marveling at how they would just unlatch themselves, "But how?"

"Secret..." She said only grinning.

"I knew you were weird..."
