16 Morning After Part 1

Emily woke up to a beautiful morning. The sun was shining through her floor to celling window, and she could just tell it was gonna be a good day.

As she lazily stumbled out of bed, she could smell a pleasant fragrance in the the air.

"What is it?" She thought. "I know that smell. It's on the tip of my tongue...Tongue....Food...Pancakes!" With the realization that she had smelled the savory taste of hot cakes, Emily energetically ran out to the kitchen. When she was almost at the doorway, she remembered that she was not alone in bed. She turned to make sure that she didn't wake Chloe up earlier that morning. She wasn't there. Emily proceeded to walk into the kitchen, where she found Chloe. The only difference was, she didn't look like Chloe. She almost looked...Better. More adorable, if you will.

Chloe's hair was frizzy the entire way around her face, yet her curls were still visible. There were white earbuds in either ear, with the other end connected to her phone that lay on the granite counter. Her crop top was still on, but the sleeves were rolled up and covered in pancake mix, as was the pink polka dot apron she had on. Emily peered around the island in the middle of the kitchen to catch a glimpse of Chloe's full outfit when suddenly, she swung herself around, and ran back into the bedroom.

Chloe wasn't wearing pants; only underwear that were completely white except for the word "PINK" written in black cursive letters across her butt. The seams were made of lace. They revealed her long, tan legs that led to her perfectly pedicured toes.

"Why is she not wearing pants?!" She thought. At this point, Emily was curled up in a ball on her bedroom floor, with her hands cupped around her eyes. She felt her cheeks redden more than ever before.

"It's okay, just walk out into the kitchen." She whispered this to herself right before a short period of hesitation in which her cheeks cooled down. After a few seconds, she stood up slowly and snuck over to the doorway. Her hands grasped the corner of the doorway, while her eyes and nose peeked on the other side of it.

Before she knew it, Emily found herself staring at Chloe's long, tan legs. When she finally realized this, she shook her head, and began walking over to the island where she pulled out a chair and sat.

"Good morning." She said to Chloe who obviously didn't hear her. "Her headphones" Emily thought, "She's probably listening to music."

She fluffed her hair, and pulled it to one side before lifting herself from the stool where she was sitting. She seemed much more confident now than she was a little bit ago.

Emily stood up, pushed in her chair, and walked around the side of the island until she was standing behind Chloe. She gently plucked Chloe's left earbud out of her ear. Before she could even tell her good morning, Emily heard a loud gasp, and saw Chloe jump. Pancake batter flew from the spatula in Chloe's hand, to Emily's rosy cheek.

"Oh my god! Emily, you scared the hell out of me!" She chuckled when she said this, and gave Emily a playful punch on the shoulder.

"Oh, I got...Batter on your face. Where are the paper towels?" Chloe placed the spatula on the counter and started searching the cabinets in Emily's kitchen. Opening and closing each one without finding what she was looking for.

"On my shopping list." Emily replied with a smirk. One of her hands was on the counter near the stove, and the other one was on her hip.

"Heh, come here." Chloe stood up after searching the cabinet under the sink. Then, she took a few steps forward, and held up her hand. She placed the index finger on her right hand on Emily's cheek before wiping the batter up, and off of her face.

"So *ahem* pancakes?" Emily's cheeks were beet red as she blinked a few times, and redirected her gaze from Chloe to the stove.

"Mm..." Chloe was still licking the batter off of her finger. "Yes." She said a few moments later. "Pancakes. I remember you telling me they are your favorite breakfast food. You know, back in therapy?"

"Mmhm. How could I possibly forget?" Emily smiled when she said this.

"Another quick question; why no pants?" Emily blushed as she pointed down at Chloe's legs.

"Oh, that. I just got hot standing by the stove. You weren't awake yet, so I figured..." She looked down and gestured at her bare legs.

"Yeah, that makes sense. I have a few pairs of shorts that might fit you if you want them." Emily suggested.

"I'm alright, unless this is making you uncomfortable." Chloe Replied

"No, no, you're fine. I was just curious." Emily blushed slightly.

"Anyway, I apologize for the mess..." Chloe turned towards the stove and started wiping excess batter off of the countertop, and the burners.

Emily turned towards Chloe and tried to get her attention. "Hey, it's fine. I'm sure the pancakes are worth it." She smiled as Chloe's eyes met hers.

"Be-before we eat, can I try something?" Her eyes scanned Chloe's face slowly, but not judgmentally.

"That entirely depends on what you want to try. I have-mm! Mmmmm."
