1 Acceptance

*repeated tapping*The bustling footsteps of the customers echoed throughout the old chinese tool store.A group of 4 persons the the 1st floor of the old building were seen shopping for tools that they needed.The man of the family stood next a table saw intently inspecting the tool as he touched and bent various parts to find if the tool had any defects.After a minute of inspection the man sighed as his wrinkled face frowned as he hummed suspiciously.

"Darvin after looking at so many of this store's tool don't you think this store only sells easy broken stuff.It's already been 2 hours and our children are getting bored of this place we should go and buy what we need somewhere else"said a very feminine voice.

The man lightly sighed as he scratched the back of his head making his short thinning hair messy as he did so he glanced at two children not sitting far from them,a girl that looked like 15 year old and a boy that looked like 11 years old.They sat on a row of three chairs,the girl sat on one chair while the boy layed down on all the chairs drooling in the lap of his sister while sleeping while the girl stroked his chestnut coloured hair lovingly with a slight smile on her face.He looked back his wife and replied"Melissa the price of these tools are too good of a deal they're leagues better than those other stores!If I can find ones that wouldn't break easily if I so much as drop it we could speed up the construction of our house".

Darvin picked up another tool as he did so his brawny muscles bulged as he picked it up.Melissa stared at Darvin as she pouted she said"Your so cheap yo…"

*CRACK!* *CRAAAACK!*

The blaring sound of concrete cracking interrupted Melissa's voice.The sound of footsteps and chattering of customers within the store came to a halt,an eerie silence overcame the occupants of the store,Darvin coldly sweated,Melissa's body trembled,the son jerked awake and looked confused and the girl hugged her brother while her heart beated uncontrollably.

*WHOOOSH* BOOOM* CLINK*

The right side of the building fell destroying the right side of the 1st floor of the building killing it's occupants.A portion of the building's windows broke causing the sound of glass shattering to blend in with the booming of the building.The family was fortunate enough to be on the left side of the building but another ordeal awaiting them.Since the building had tilted left,it was no longer stable everyone that wasn't killed in the wreckage had started to stumble uncontrollably towards the rubble some even falling and hitting their bodies.Darvin lost his footing while going down the slope lost his footing and hit his head on the rubble knocking him unconscious.Darvin awoke disoriented feeling the sticky blood that flowed from his head and licking his chapped lips and crazily shouted for his family"Melissa!..Jake!..Tiara?.."

he held his paining head as he started to look around the destroyed store unable to move forward due to the tilted surface he had to move to the side only.The lights of the store blinked on and off as if threatening to turn off,Darvin maneuvered over rubble while scanning every corner to spot his family and eventually heard a familiar voice

"Help my…kids".

Darvin sprinted to the voice to discover melissa lying on the back with tears in hes eyes.Rocks covered with dryed blood crushing Melissa's thighs only leaving her torso exposed he knelt at her side panicked to at the sight of her condition."

Darvin broke down crying and started to vigorously remove the rubble he could from her broken body.Melissa slowly opened her eyes seeing Darvin removing the stones and bricks from her body reached out and held his fast and desperately moving hands

"Darvin…I…I won't make it but you have to find Jake and Tiara,even if you manage to get me out I won't live long enough to reach help.I don't matter anymore but our kids are still out there!"as she said so while squeezing Darvin's hands tightly.Darvin quickly turned and grabbed her hands and looked into her blue eyes tears streaming down his face and falling unto melissa's

"No..no..that's not true you have no way of knowing what comes in the future maybe you could be saved"Darvin said while his teeth chattered together in fear"

and..and the kids don't worry..abo.."

Darvin stopped speaking when he noticed Melissa tight grip slowly loosened and her eyes carried no trace of emotion except for blankness.Darvin's trembling hands closed Melissa's eyes.Darvin got up and ran crazily searching for his children the thing his wife truly cared about in her last moments.After minutes of crying and stumbling over rocks in silence he spotted his 2 children lying face down dead in eachother's embrace.Darvin dropped to his knees unable to cry because his tears ran dry ,the sound of trucks removing rubble reverberated throughout area.It didn't matter now everything he had lived for was gone and there was no point to existing with his loved ones absence.He scanned the area and spotted a power tool he was looking at before this misfortune befell them.He picked it and laughed weakly,the large blade tempting him with the sweet release of death.

He weakly muttered"See you on the other side."with a smile of acceptance on his face.
