The race ended, I placed 13th overall. Honestly, I had to restrain my urges to stop myself from showing these slow fools what speed is. At this speed, by the time they get to the crime scene, the villains would already do what they needed to do while having the time do buy a snack on the way.
By the way, Minoru didn't qualify this time. Anyways, the event is over, it's time for the next one.
Midnight- "The top 42 from this qualifying round will move on! And now, the main selection REALLY begins! The second event, next up is… This!"
'Cavalry Battle.'
Nice. Seems like they didn't change the events due to my appearance. Then Midnight went on to explain the rules, you know, maximum of 4 members in each team and everyone will get a headband showing the teams point total, while Izuku will get a 10 million point bounty on his head. Like, he literally has it on his head.
Man, I'm funny. Haha.
Midnight- "You've got 15 minutes to form your team!"
Hearing that, everyone started scrambling to form their teams. Katsuki drew a lot of attention to himself, everyone wants to get on his team. I, on the other hand, just stand there and wait for someone to come to me.
What, you want me to form my own team? You're asking too much from a NEET!
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Ochako walking up to Izuku, so I quickly pull out my phone. For those wondering, no, we're not supposed to have our phones here, but I have my ways. Inventory-chan coming in clutch.
Izuku did that 'heart squeeze' face, which I took a picture of and will definitely use it to tease him in the future.
In the meantime, someone runs up to me and ask me to join my team.
Toru- "Arataaaaa!"
Yup, it's our very own resident invisible girl, Toru Hagakure.
Toru- "Arata, wanna join my team?"
She already has Kyoka and Rikodo following her, so I guess I'm the last person.
Hmm… this is a good chance. There's a bunch of shit that goes on in the tournament arc, so I don't wanna mess with that. The solution? Don't win in the cavalry battle. So I gotta choose a losing team. Meanwhile, I can also take this chance to get close to Toru to find out how her quirk works.
Arata- "Yeah sure, why not."
Toru- "Woah, really!? Yeah! Now we have a very good chance of winning since you're so strong!"
I know. [Vector Manipulation] OP.
Kyoka- "So shouldn't we talk more about our quirks?"
Rikido- "Oh, good idea. I'll go first…"
And so we talked about our quirks. Rikido's Sugar Rush, Toru's Invisibility, and Kyoka's Earphone Jacks.
Arata- "My quirk, as I've mentioned before, is called [Vector Manipulation]. Specifically, it lets me control the direction and magnitude of any objects I am in contact with."
Not exactly true. It actually lets me control the direction and magnitude of anything as long as there's a medium, whether it's in direct contact with me or not doesn't matter much.
Arata- "Because of this, I think I should take point. I can speed all of us up, we can be pretty much uncatchable."
Toru- "I see, it makes sense! Let's go with that then!"
Present Mic- "Formed your teams? Made your plans? Too bad if you haven't! Let's start the countdown!"
We all get into our positions. I take the front, Kyoka to the right, Rikido to the left, and Toru on top. Honestly, it's pretty uncomfortable knowing a half-naked girl is right behind me, and if I wanted to can just disable her quirk and reveal her to everyone. Of course, I'm not as sadistic enough to do something like that, nowhere close.
But, because of the cavalry position we're in, she has to use my hands as footholds, and honestly… her feet are pretty soft…
What am I thinking!? I don't even have a feet fetish. Oh no, if this keeps up, I might eventually get one. Focus!
(A/N: No, I don't have a feet fetish, and neither will our MC. Chill.)
Toru- "We're going for the 10 million!"
As expected, even we're going for it. Oh well. Let's just see what happens.
Present Mic- "Three! Two! One! START!!!"
*FOOM*
Immediately, I increase out speed until it's comparable to a slow-moving car, about 30-40 km/h. No, that's not my max speed, nowhere close.
(A/N: 18-25 miles/h for any Americans reading this.)
Kyoka- "So fast!"
The best thing is, since I'm touching everyone, I'm also increasing their speed as well, so they don't have to stress themselves trying to keep up. They have to take wider steps though.
Unlike in canon, we ended up being the first one to reach the Midoriya Team. It seems like his team didn't change, it's still Ochako, Fumikage and Mei.
Because we got there first, they didn't end up sinking into the floor and be forced to fly into the air like in canon. Instead, they just used their jet boots and ran away. No, not run, glide? Slide? This is so fucking confusing.
Well, it's not like we're any slower. We immediately pursue them.
Toru- "Wooh!"
It seems like she's more excited about the speed we're going at instead of focusing on what's going on right now. Well, not that I care. I'm only in this for the fun of it anyways. Might as well enjoy this!
And so, We spend half the time trying to chase Midoriya team down. Everyone except for those from 1A was surprised at my speed. The reason everyone from 1A was kinda impassive about this is because they know I can fly, running fast is nothing special.
I honestly am wondering why the teachers didn't handicap me. I'm older than everyone here, so they should've done something to make things more fair. Not like that would've done anything anyway, but it's the thought that counts. Is it my LUK?
Anyways, they eventually got pincer attacked by Team Bakugo and ended up escaping using their jetpack. Yes, they have a fucking jetpack. I could make a better one though.

We ended up just running around targeting other teams and we racked up a lot of points, then I realised we probably shouldn't do that. So when Team Monoma came by to steal our points, I didn't say anything or do anything to let anyone know, I just let it happen.
But when everyone else noticed all the points we took are gone, Toru got pretty depressed and thought all our hard work was gone because she didn't pay attention. If I could see her I wouldn't be surprised if she was on the brink of tears.
…
I'M SORRY! Now I fully understand 'great power, great responsibility' means. I could've stopped it, but I didn't, and now she's depressed. I don't think this scenario is exactly what Spiderman expected his motto to be used as, but screw him.
I personally don't care about the points, but I made her sad and honestly, it's a pretty shitty feeling.
Present Mic- "And time's up! Let's see who the top 4 teams are now!"
While Present Mic was doing a roll call of the top 4, Toru hopped off and we broke off our formation.
Rikido- "Ahh, it really is a shame! Well, too bad, we still did pretty well!"
Kyoka- "Mmm, we definitely attracted a lot of attention from our actions, I wouldn't say we didn't gain anything."
It seems like they're trying to cheer Toru up. I didn't say anything, mostly because of my antisocial tendencies, of course, this is partially my fault, so I felt like I had to do something. So…
*pat*
I put my hand on the invisible girl's head and start slowly rubbing it.
Arata- "*Sigh* Well… Don't mind it. I'm satisfied with last year's festival so I'm only really here for fun. You did well, don't let this keep you down."
Toru- "… Mmm!"
I'm getting positive vibes from her. Is it my [Sixth Sense] skill's limited empathy? Oh well.
I'll make it up to you though, I promise!
However, I didn't know that if I had the special glasses I made that lets me see Toru, I would find her with a beet-red face.
Meanwhile, I turn to look at how everyone else is doing, just in time to see Izuku crying tears with so much force he ended up breaking the floor beneath him.
Holy shit, those are fucking weapons!

A/N: MCs luck with women is both terrifying and pitiful! His casual actions draws their attention and attraction, but he doesn't even see their responses. I thought his LUK should be high, dammit!
And no, Toru will not be a part of the harem. At least, not for a long while. I have plans for her though, just chill.
