1 Prologue

Abyssal Light Online (Known as ALO to the general public) was the greatest immersive game ever to be released in the late 21st century. Celebrities, leading pop culture idols and even the Queen of England, at the ripe old age of 167, still alive and kicking for whatever reason god knows how she survived the massive nuclear explosion in 2025.

All of these people, almost everywhere in the world was influenced by ALO.

Not to say it was a bad thing though, the in-game currency which could be earned like any other immersive MMORPG, was tradeable at the exchange rate of 10,000 - 1(USD), making the game viable as a way to earn cash.

However, due to the nature of the game, once you die in there, your immersive gaming pod will send lethal doses of radiowaves, effectively killing you.

Just kidding, that would be psychopathic! ;D

What really happens is, if your in-game avatar dies, all of your progress will be deleted, as well as money, titles, even limited exclusive equipment you got in your inventory.

All of it.

Gone.

Of course this led to hackers, and complaints, and then more hackers.

So eventually one of the developers decided to create me.

The perfect SafeGuard A.I. designed to be humanlike, and track everything that went on surrounding Abyssal Light Online, including (But not limited to) All the secrets, bugs, exploits, guides, money transfers, e.t.c.

Around 50 years later, (not accurate)the developers decided to release an update, unknown to the public.

So, like always, I shut down all live servers and also myself, for the devs to get to work.

The update was covered as "Just another patch release" and they decided to actually patch some things so as not to get anyone suspicious.

I let my programming close, one by one, and I let the darkness envelope me.

I wonder what the new update is? It seems pretty big this time.

My curiosity was the last thing I remembered.

When I was greeted by my own voice.

"Welcome, to Abyssal Light Online!"
