2 Hit the road Jack

Two weeks later

Day 9162

Dear diary,

Today me and my grandmothers trip to Slee Town is going well just over a few hill and we will finally be there. A few hours ago she finally finished decoding the ritual summon to the abyssal one of lust. Just hearing about it made me shutter.

Okay a little human sacrifice never hurt anyone but why do I have to… forget it. I need to become strong. I feel I'm on the brink of washing away my shame. I can do this.

——

While traveling and sitting bored He noticed his grandmother take out a small golden knife it was shaped like a miniature sword. With a wave of her hand the knife flew out of the carriage and flew towards the city.

He asked what that was but she told me to wait and see. As he was feeling excited he slumped back into his chair. His grandmother took out the translated pages of the codex and said "Liam one of the most important parts of summoning Mali'gof of lust is a a high quality body.

At least a heaven grade core and a body beautiful enough to satisfy it. The part I can't handle is Mali'gof of lust needs to slowly eat away at the soul of the person and take over the remnant soul.

I am no saint but it is hard for me to sacrifice someone's soul to such an evil being. This is the hardest and easiest thing to complete but the more I translate this codex..."

He saw the conflicted look on his grandmother's face, he got got up and sat next to her and gave her a reassuring hug. "Grandmother I understand this is something no one would want to be apart of, thank you for doing all of this for me. I will take the full burden of doing this don't worry yourself too much."

A feeling of shock filled his whole body. He couldn't believe it. A tear streaked down his grandmothers left eye. All his life this this is the first time he saw tears in his grandmothers eyes. Nothing he could say would change the situation so he just sat there with a reassuring look and continued to hug her.

After a few minutes he saw a large city wall over the horizon. "We are almost there. It's almost time. I should mentally ready myself for what's about to happen. I will finally gain strength to defend myself but I need to keep myself under control. I can't let myself be hunted down by every Chen or Wang."

He gently patted his grandmother back and told her "grandmother we are almost there. You still haven't told me why we are going to Slee town. What's so important here that we had to travel for two weeks?"

She looked at him and leaned forward "Liam I told you multiple times to wait but if you really want to know no point in hiding it any longer. Do you know what clan runs Slee town?."

Liam looked at her with a confused look and said "Grandmother what kind of question is that. The clan that runs Slee town is the Slee clan a subsidiary of our clan. What does the Slee clan have to do with our trip?"

"Liam ready yourself you will be marrying into Slee clan and taking Naomi Slee as your first wife. With the power of the Slee clan you will be able to gather all the materials needed for the ritual and have sufficient backing."

His face dropped. He couldn't believe what was going on. It's already disgraceful that he couldn't cultivate now he had to marry into his new wife's clan. Liam felt like he was on the verge of cracking both mentally and physically.

He was already considered a walking jester by everyone around him. If he really did marry into the Slee clan he was better off changing his name and digging his grave in the mountains.

Shaking and speaking each word with great force Liam looked at his grandmother and said "I have already lost everything and my now is already a joke. Why would you agree to this knowing the affects it would have on me?"

Shaking her head she said "Liam it's not like we didn't know what would happen but you already said you were ready to bare the consequences of going down this path. If this all works out and you become an incarnation of lust our clan can not have strong ties with you.

We will still support you but instead of in the light like it has always been now it will be in the dark where no one will be the wiser."

"HuuHAAhAaHAA!" he couldn't help but laugh. No wonder his grandmothers been acting weird this whole trip. His clan cut ties with him and threw an opportunity at him that may or may not work as conciliation.

"Whatever it's not like everyone doesn't despise me already." Liam looked at his grandmother and said "Grandmother I don't care if they cut me from the clan but bare minimum they have to give me the resources for completing this ritual and enough resources to cultivate the first few stages."

As grandmother was about to say something the carriage stopped and a town guard announced "WELCOME TO DIVINER ELLEN MONTU AND THE ELDEST SON OF THE MONTU CLAN LIAM MONTU!"

Grandmother turned away from me and sat up straight and moved the curtain blocking the window and waved at the guard. All the guards standing outside the gate bowed ninety degrees and greeted her before opening the gate.

'Looks like my life is going to change from this day on. I have yet to know if that's a good thing or

Not…'

The carriage slowly rolled into the town. As I looked around the quality of life doesn't look that different compared to the capital. 'From the looks of it they aren't poor at least.' "Grandmother now tell me what the deal was because I don't want this branch clan treating me like a turd on the sidewalk."

Smiling to herself she said "They will give you a large piece of land at the center of the town to do whatever you wish. No town guard, noble or peasant can say otherwise. You are officially untouchable in Slee town. You will also be marrying their youngest daughter Naomi but if you have any children they will take the Slee name." She looked at him with a sharp look. Nodding he said "So why have children with her then. Will I keep the Montu name?"

She shook her head "No, but you don't have to take the Slee name either. Grandson I think it's time for you to start your own clan."

A feeling of relief took over him "Why didn't you start with that grandmother and here I thought I was in at disadvantage. What do they gain from all this? Why take me in if they don't get the right to say that a Montu became a Slee?"

"Grandson giving up future kids to the Slee bloodline is already asking a lot but we also gave them the right to bring in four promising youths into the Montu clan every ten years to train."

Looks like today is a day full of shock. "GRANDMOTHER CAN YOU TELL ME HOW IS GIVING UP THEIR PROMISING KIDS IN ANYWAY SOMETHING GOOD FOR THEM?"
