1 Ch.1 The beginning

In the world of Abtadal in the country called the Dominion empire, lives a 20 year old man with the name of Herbert Bauer. He was still living with his mother Sylvia and his little brother Wilhelm. Herbert was sitting, at the kitchen table with a book about larunan, the language of the Larunan federation. It was not common for Dominion Citizens to study larunan but Herbert wants to become an interpreter because he heard that over the last decades the Dominion military had problems at the Dominion-Larunan border.

As far as he heard the corrupt and undisciplined soldiers of the federation started some brawls and the only reason that there was no war was because of the calmness of the disciplined and well trained soldiers of the Dominion.

He was so concentrated on the book that he did not hear his mother who just entered the kitchen and asked him something. Just as she came closer and grabbed his shoulder, he noticed her. "Do you think that you are ready for the test tomorrow?" she asked. "I think so" he lied. It wasn't that he didn't learn enough but he had nearly no one to practice with but there was someone, a guy in his home town Rainburg.

He was an old merchant named Georg Becker and he normally doesn't really talk much with the people because he doesn't like the people and the people don't like him but he somehow liked Herbert and because he was back in the days a merchant who traveled a lot and knew some foreign languages and the cultures so he talked often with Herbert but even Georg didn't always have time for Herbert so he mostly learned by book.

Georg and Herbert had an agreement, Georg helped Herbert with larunan and in exchange Herbert helped Georg in his little store and in his household. As Herbert looked at the kitchen clock, he noticed that he is late for he was invited by Georg. He just shouted "Oh fuck i'm late". His mother instantly shouted "Don't you bloody dare to curse in this house" but her son just heard the first half because he already left the small building.
