An infected fell to the floor as I shot it. Chiaki-san and I are currently walking around the back alley of the convenient store, Chiaki-san was silence throughout our walk until.

"You're not a child aren't you?...the way you act, it's as if you're an adult."

I stop to face her and the look on her face was a serious one.

"Hmm...is it really that hard to believe that a child can also be capable of doing such a thing?"

She clenched her teeth and retort back.

"If that's the case then why bother sticking with us. You seem capable looking after yourself."

"True...I am capable, but I have a job to do."

"Job?....what do you mean by that."

"I received a job to look after Takashi-nii's group until we reach our destination."

"The Takagi Estate....did the Takagi hired you to look after their daughter."

"No..."

"With that much power you could do a lot more than protecting them, You could save the world if you wanted."

"Save the world...I know that you are naive but not to this point. How could possibly asked a child not that I'm saying I am one, to save the world. How selfish can you be that you're willing to sacrifice a child for the old world you wished more. It is because I have powers and now I'm responsible in saving everyone...I'm no saint."

Chiaki-san looks down in distraught...it seem my words pierce her.

"M-My dad...he's a top scientist in his field maybe with your help, the two of you can stop this."

"A scientist..in what field?"

"Biochemistry."

'Does that mean he knows what cause the outbreak?....but I never heard of him in the story nor Chiaki-san, did they appear in latter chapters/episodes...damn I should really finish something once I started them.'

"Your father...what is his name?"

Before he could answer us we hear a loud growl behind me. Chiaki-san's eyes widen in horror for what lurks behind me. I turn my head to see a new type of infected.....a mutated dog.

"This is new."

"W-What are we gonna do? there might be more of them around."

Chiaki-san grab my hand instinctively for us to run away together....hmm despite everything she said, she won't hesitate to save me huh?

*Pew Pew Pew*

I starts shooting at the dog but it's a slippery one, it dodges my bullets at high speed, It then howl loudly into the night....must be calling for its pack..shit. I look towards Chiaki-san who's shaken by that howl. I grab her hand and made a run for it. Seeing the the mutated dog charges at us.

*Time Stop*

I carry Chiaki-san using The World and make a run for the bus and when we reach there that I see the rests of the pack attacking the bus. Teshima-san was fending them off with his hockey stick while Hirano-san was shooting at them from the bus.

*Pew Pew Pew*

I killed a few of them especially the one that jump in an attempt to bite Busujima-nee's neck.

*Time Resume*

The mutated dogs' corpses fall one by one causing the others the feel relief. Chiaki-san however tightens her grip on my hand not wanting to let go.

"ARTHUR! Thank god you're here, we thought we were done for...what the fuck are these?...mutated dogs now. God...what's next?"

Teshima-san ran to me as well as Miyamoto-san and Takashi-nii.

"Arthur-chan! we got the supplies it's best we leave now. The dogs attracted the other infected to our area."

I nod approvingly at Miyamoto-san suggestion but I still need to kill some of the stragglers. The quest is not completed...I need these points for the unforeseen future.

"Get on the bus and move two blocks down the road and wait for me."

Takashi-nii looks surprise as I toss Chiaki-san at him.

"Look after her, those dogs are relentless they won't stop until we're dead. So I need to deal with them here and now...something tells me those dog can catch up to the bus."

Their eyes widen in fear...Dogs that can catch up to the speed of a bus. After nodding to my words the group left for the bus leaving behind Busujima-nee.

"Busujima-nee shouldn't you be on the bus?"

"Call me Saeko-nee, and no I don't like the idea of a child protecting me...it should be my responsibility in protecting you."

Again...same with Chiaki-san..why can't these people...why can't Mari-nee understand...I'm no child.

"I understand Saeko-nee but I'll be fine you should be protecting the others in the bus."

"They'll be fine as long as we don't let these mutts pass us, they'll be fine."

Hmm...but it's certain that the dogs would even come to us. I saw some dogs lurking behind while I was killing a few of them just then, It seem as if it was observing me. Now I felt as if they're wary of me.

'Clever girl.'

(Carpenter Brut - Hang'em All)

*HOWL*

We hear howls from a distance and see multiple dogs running out of the alleyway, some were jumping over cars and knocking down the infected walking towards us. their fangs glisten under the moonlight.

"Get ready!"

Saeko-nee unsheathe her kendo stick from her waist and took a stance and I took out two of my guns. The dogs then turns and run around us in a circle gnarling at us...insignificant worms.

*PEW PEW PEW*

I shoot a few of them in the head while Saeko-nee defends me from their lunges and attacks.

*Twhack*

Saeko-nee kick one of the dog that was too close for comfort on its' left face I quickly turn my gun and shot its' head. I then aim my gun behind her shooting a dog that was about to bit her neck after shooting it, Saeko-nee turns to kick it mid-air.

The mutated dogs starts to organized themselves and lunge methodically at us, seeing this Saeko-nee and I look at each other while smiling and nods, she has a sadistic smile on her face. It seems that she's finally showing true self in front of me. We run in straight at them not giving these dogs time to think, Saeko-nee then twirls with grace avoiding their bites and kicking them away while killing them, with each hits left a dis-formed shape directly on their head.

*Smack*

*Smash*

I hear the bone breaking as the kendo stick hits one them in the chest, the dog whimpers in pain but Saeko-nee quickly dispatch it before it could do anything. Then two dogs quickly took advantage of this and jump at Saeko-nee.

I quickly flick a coin in between them before they got close to her.

"KILLER QUEEN!!"

I perform a back flip to dodge one of the dogs while pressing the detonator.

*Click*

*BOOM*

The coin explode between the two dogs killing them I then quickly toss a coin at Saeko-nee for her to use in case of an emergency. The dogs stop running around us and now looks at us with hungers in their eyes.

"8...8 dogs Arthur...how many bullets you have left?"

"Enough. THE WORLD!"

*Time Stop*

I ran forward and shoot until I ran out of ammo. Each shoot land perfectly at their heads. These dogs never knew what hit'em.

*Time Resume*

Saeko-nee eyes shrunk as she see the dogs dropping like flies one at a time.

"I knew you're strong..but the thought of you stopping time is truly frightening."

[Optional Quest Completed: Kill Mutated Dogs.]

"Nevermind that Saeko-nee, we need to leave now."

I turn to her and smile. Saeko-nee smiles as well while shrugging and we quickly ran for the bus that when we saw it....the bus but our eyes widen for what we saw, the bus is flipped over crash and on fire.

"MARI-NEE!"
