Trauma

Jake looked at his hands, covered in blood, in complete shock. He was just an ordinary man who only coveted wealth and beautiful women.

Nothing else mattered to him because those were precisely the things he lacked in his former world.

Never in his two lives did he plan to murder someone. Of course, such intrusive thoughts crossed his mind, but as a normal person, he simply ignored them.

Even when he had acquired so much power through cultivation, he never thought of killing the boys who bullied him.

He wanted to hit them, yes. Teach them a painful lesson; of course, but he never thought of killing anyone.

Now his hands were stained with blood.

The blood of scum, but in the end... blood.

Jake's hands began to tremble as he remembered his mother and how she had struggled to raise him to be a good man. Someone who could be an example to others.

I'm sorry, Mom, I...

"!??!!" Jake's eyes widened in shock as he saw hands grabbing his blood-stained hands.

It was the middle-aged woman.

"Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you so much!!!" The woman kissed his hands, not caring in the least about the blood on them, and cried inconsolably.

Jake couldn't believe how the woman was capable of kissing his hands. He simply stared at the scene with wide eyes.

Behind her were the girl who was crying in the arms of the obese man.

.....

From the second-floor room, Jake watched as the middle-aged woman cleaned the blood and brains that Jake had left scattered on the floor.

He didn't feel capable enough to socialize with anyone at the moment; that's why when the man offered him to stay in the house, he simply nodded.

He tried several times to enter deep sleep, but it was impossible for him. To enter the state of deep sleep, a person needed to be mentally at peace and have a calm conscience.

Jake clearly wasn't.

He couldn't close his eyes without seeing the horrified face of the man he had killed.

Since he couldn't sleep and was bored, Jake decided to finish the movie he had started.

Life Sentence!!

One of the movies that was part of his top 10 of all time.

It started as a distraction, but as the movie progressed, he enjoyed it as much as when he first watched it.

Andy's sentence for the alleged murder of his wife. His eventual arrival in prison and his encounter with Red.

Morgan Freeman's memorable narration and the events of the movie somehow were a bit therapeutic for him.

Jake finished the movie before dawn and went to bed.

This time he was able to fall asleep but didn't enter the state of deep sleep.

When Jake woke up, he realized it was past 10 am. He left the room and found the woman from yesterday watching television.

"Good morning." Jake felt very uncomfortable greeting her. They didn't know each other at all, and he was only in her house because that same family wanted to thank him.

"Oh, good morning!" The woman greeted him cheerfully and rushed to the kitchen. "Wait for me a moment, I'll bring you your breakfast."

Jake watched as the woman brimmed with energy and joy.

"My husband and Lisa went to work and school, respectively." The woman placed the plate in front of him and accidentally showed a bit of her cleavage. Normally, this would excite Jake a lot, but this time he only looked for a second before nodding. "They were waiting for you to wake up to thank you personally."

"There's nothing to thank." Jake shook his head.

His attitude was very disheartened and weak. He simply took the fork and began to eat with a lost look.

The woman, observing him in such a state, frowned with concern. She even noticed what seemed to be a bit of dark circles under Jake's eyes.

"You know? I have no idea what you're going through, nor can I imagine it." The woman took Jake's hands, which reminded him of yesterday's scene. "But for us, you are our savior. YOU SAVED MY LIFE!! We are eternally grateful to you for staining your hands in order to help us, and I don't think I can ever repay you enough in this life. So when you need something, anything... Don't hesitate to look for us."

Jake could see the sincerity in her eyes. His emotions stirred, and he began to think that maybe he wasn't such a bad person after all, that if he dirtied his hands, it was for a good reason.

His eyes turned red, threatening to burst into tears.

Seeing him in such a state, the woman couldn't help but embrace him and cradle him to her chest.

Jake knew this was an emotional and special moment, he really did... But his little friend didn't.

A large bulge formed in his groin, and as they hugged, the woman felt it.

"O-Oh!"

"I-I'm sorry, I don't know..." Jake began to stammer in panic, but the woman put her finger to his lips and shushed him. "Shhhh."

"You don't have to say anything." The woman shook her head and reached out to start caressing the bulge in Jake's pants. "I told you, didn't I? I'll do anything to thank you." She whispered suggestively in his ear.

"But-But I can't ask you to do something like this, it's an abuse on my part." Jake spoke through gritted teeth, trying to fight against his basest instincts.

The woman shook her head. "You're wrong. I really didn't know how to thank you; we have no money, resources, or influence. Being able to thank you in this way is a relief for me."

"You don't have to thank me." Jake said as a last attempt at resistance.

The woman knelt on the floor and touched Jake's bulge with her face.

"But I want to!" This time the woman had an excited look.
