3 Life's Not Fair To No One

Zero stood there merely watching the drama that's about to occur.

Just like in the anime , there was an emotional scene of the three bickering about killing and what not until Komuro rushed towards Hisashi and swinged his bat , forcefully hitting Hisashi's neck and his head went flying over the fence. Rei , who was behind Komuro , shouting with all her might at the scene of her beloved being killed and lost the willpower to stand up.

"Hisashi.....is dead? His dead?" Rei , who didn't want what was reality to be real , muttered those words for a while until she couldn't accept it and got up from her position and ran towards Komuro. "You Killed him!"

Komuro , who saw the anger in Rei's eyes , looked towards Zero as of asking if he could help him calm her down but Zero didn't give him a chance.

"Looks like you aimed for where it hurts the most. Why didn't you just bash his head? I mean , his skin did become like tissue after he was transforming but it also meant you could of put him out of misery quickly." Zero explained to Komuro while eyeing his reaction. As Zero expected , Komuro's expression wasn't one of regret but one of dissatisfaction. Since Komuro didn't have a good relationship after Rei became Hisashi's girlfriend , he always wondered why things were this way.

Rei , who heard what Zero said , looked at Komuro with a frustrated expression. "You did it on purpose , didn't you?" Rei yelled and that's when the doors behind them opened with a loud bang and zombies started swarming on top of the rooftop.

Rei who was still angry at Komuro , didn't think that Komuro didn't have any information about zombies and lashed out her anger on him by voicing out her words.

"Seems that I'll have the chance to test my Shadow Manipulation." Zero extended his hand and faced it towards the zombies. Since the sun was up , his hand created a shadow below his body and it formed a small needles that had a silver tint to it. The needles shot towards the zombies at the speed of a bullet and pierced the zombie's bodies.

"It seems that 3-4 needles are needed to take care of one zombie. I can feel that my ability doesn't have a side effect and only relies on my shadow. I wonder what would happen if it was night time?" Zero wondered since if it was night time , didn't that mean he could fire more projectiles at the zombies and test them?

After Zero shot his needles towards the zombies , 5 zombies were killed and others had needles in their bodies.

Rei and Komuro who saw Zero manipulating his shadow to release needles , were confused because aren't humans normal with no abilities?

But what Zero doesn't know , is that he isn't the only one who has abilities in the world. But that will come later.

Rei who was confused with tears still on face , looked towards Zero with a weary glance. "W-What did you just do? The needles and the zombies fell down , what happened?" Rei decided that it was better to ask since she didn't know what could be worse than being eaten by zombies.

"It's called killing my dear. You should try it out for once or do you want me to kill you so that you could understand?" Zero responded with a amusing tone that clarified that he wasn't taking er seriously.

"Then what was that black thing?" Komuro decided asking was also a better idea than doing nothing.

Zero didn't hesitate and told them about his ability. "It's my ability , it's called Shadow Manipulation." Zero remembered that he had another ability called analyze. He decided to use it and tested it on a zombie that had some needles in it's body.

"Analyze" Zero thought about using his ability and said it in his head and a black screen with information appeared infront of him.

[Name: Zombie]

[Abilities: -]

[State: Hunger , Near Death]

Zero guessed that it's near death because it was pierced by his needles. He now understood what his analyze ability could do. It seemed that he could read the description of objects but what confuses is the Abilities section in the description. Does it mean zombies have abilities? He would have to investigate about this later on.

He then looked towards Rei who seemed to have another question. "Spit it out."

Rei who stopped crying , wiped the remaining tears on her face and looked towards Zero. "Do others have abilities like you?"

"I don't know , I've yet to meet one." Zero answered her question and moved forward towards the zombies that wear in a Near Death state due to his needles. He summoned more needles and fired it towards the remaining zombies and killed them off.

[Shadow Manipulation Has Reached Level 2.]

Zero saw a black screen appear infront of him. He understood that it was his helper notifying him about his ability getting stronger.

"It seems killing zombies can raise my shadow manipulations level." Zero dismissed the notification and tried to form the same ball of shadow on his palm again and it formed even faster than before. "It seems my control has improved." The shadow ball has a silver tint around it , faintly swirling around the ball.

Zero threw the ball at the ground and it went right through it , leaving a hole going downwards. "The destructiveness increased as well." Zero retracted his hand and looked towards the 2. " I'll be going downstairs now. Have a good life." He started walking away from the 2 since he knew they would be troublesome if kept.

Zero also thought about how to deal with a mass amount of zombies since he didn't have any combat training or any weapons that could be used. He thought that he should create weapons made from his shadow since it seemed logical. He would get to that later when he had time.

"Wait!" Rei ran towards Zero and bowed at a 90 degree angle. "Please help me get to safety with the other survivors." Zero looked towards Rei with a irritated thought.

"Your boyfriend just died and you were crying , wailing about your loss but you took a 180 and thought about survival? Really ideal." Zero thought since most of the women in the anime are narrow minded and think about survival first before other options.

Komuro who saw this , walked towards Rei and held her shoulder. "I can help you get to them." Komuro said with a tone that sounded like he had confidence in his ability.

Rei retuned to her normal posture and looked towards Komuro with a cold glance. "You? You Killed Hisashi and now you are telling me you gonna help me? I don't need help from a murderer." She turned towards Zero while awaiting his answer.

Zero thought Rei was still naive , if what Komuro did was murder , then what did he do? Didn't he just kill a multitude of zombies without hesitation?

"Do whatever you want , if you die or get bitten , don't expect any help from me." Zero walked off towards the staircase and went down until he reached the bottom.

Rei followed Zero and Komuro followed Rei. The three walked in the hallways while trying to not make noise with their footsteps by stepping lightly on the floor.

After searching for a while and Zero killing some zombies that came by , they entered a random class that seemed empty , at least what it seems to be from the outside. When they entered , they smelled the scent of dry blood mixed with rotten flesh. Rei couldn't help being disgusted at the scene before her and vomited on the floor infront of her.

"Watch it , if you can't handle it just look away." Zero took some steps away from Rei since he didn't want vomit to appear on him.

Zero saw Komuro stay beside Rei even tho she said that she didn't need his help earlier. "Is he a Simp?" Zero thought subconsciously.

What made Rei vomit was the scene infront of her , bodies of students on the floor with the limbs torn apart or half eaten. The zombies seemed to have not left anyone alive in the class since the body count of the people in the room were almost exactly the same of how many should be in a classroom.

"Seems like they weren't lucky." Zero stated as he saw the aftermath of what the zombies did.

Komuro , who was beside Rei looked towards the window and saw that bloody handprints were on it. "It seemed like some tried to escape from the windows." His expression was that of disturbed and nervousness since he didn't want to end up like those who died.

Who doesn't want to live? Everyone wants to live so thinking selfishly isn't a sin. It's about survival so if thinking about one's welfare is wrong then the world would have been chaotic.

Rei , who recovered from her state , wiped the stains of vomit from her mouth with her fingers and looked towards the dead students. "They didn't even get to fully live properly." Rei said with a remorseful tone since she could understand it to.

Since it's the Zombie Apocalypse , the world has definitely changed. Careers and life has changed.

"Life is fair to no one. Death would have come to them sooner or later. It's a shame that it was like this." Zero expressed his thought with a monotone voice. It sounded like it didn't make a difference to him since it really didn't. Life is life and death is death , accept it and go on with it.

Komuro , who heard those words , wanted to say something but they heard a scream resounding west from where they are.
