5 Chapter 5: A Brand New Identity

POV: Lucas Khisfire

I looked around the area as I gripped tightly on the potion the polymorph potion with a moment's notice. I took a sip at the vile concoction. It was bitter and tasted horrible but I needed to drink it so I can finally go and do what I want.

This was something I do occasionally. At a very young age, I was already pressured and conditioned to be this perfect and cold-hearted prince that can make rational decisions. I never really had a childhood or enjoyed playing outside and made any friends. It was always work, work, work, work. Sometimes I just want to run away from my responsibilities and live life like a normal citizen. Without any peering eyes that would judge me and dictate every move I make. I don't want to keep getting strangled with work like this...

As soon as the potion hits my throat. Suddenly my face starts to convulse, it's as if every cell in my face is starting to move and transform into something else. In a few seconds, the new face forms, a face that's like a civilian. Something that would hide me well and different from my look.

My new identity was ready... and I'm ready to go out once again...

POV: Lisa Montagne

I kept to myself as I grabbed ahold of the pendant that Luna gave me. This girl sure does have some weird ideas but it wouldn't really hurt if I tried right? Though I have a feeling that this is going to be trouble especially since I'll be pretending to be someone I'm not. If I was caught, which will happen. That would be the worst but I really need money for Chloe.. I don't think stealing magic crystals is going to be enough to save her.

The red-light district was a long stretch of land in the center of Khisfire. Often, foreigners flock here to get some "services" that otherwise would be illegal in the parts of their kingdoms. This place is crawling with strip bars, brothels, and some illegal magic items though as I noticed today. There are fewer people today.

Taking a look again in the crowd, all the female high-class courtesans are gone from their posts. Usually, they would parade around, dancing to attract customers to their brothels but today there's no one here. I suppose they also heard of the courting of the prince and perhaps they got ready. I suppose that works for me since there are fewer people to deal with.

After a few minutes of walking around the abundance of men in the area. I opened the door to my workplace where I work as a bartender and a server. Surely, anyone that hears that I work in the red light district would think lowly of me and give me weird looks that why I prefer to keep it silent.

"Oh finally! You came!" My boss greeted me. "There aren't a lot of customers today and most of the girls decided to call a day off since the big event with the prince was more important to them so you'll be the only bartender for today. Not to worry though I'll pay you to double." She reassures me, giving me a tap on the back after she heads back out. I sighed and started to serve some of the customers though she is right.

There isn't a lot of customers today. Who knew these fancy pants royalty had so much power over the economy of the red light district. Considering this area is against the laws of the kingdom. I continued to wipe the wine glasses as a group of men entered the bar.

"Damn. Where the hell is the good chicks at." One of the men said to the other. Making me roll my eyes as I look away from them. "I know right. There weren't a lot of women here today." They all laughed at each other as I went to them calmly.

"Hello, sirs. What drink would you like to have today?" I asked them but they all had snarky looks at me. Making me uncomfortable. They definitely have some ill intentions with those glares.

"Can we have you, baby? You look gorgeous as hell." The man tried to grab me by the shoulder but I awkwardly smiled, pulling him off of me.

"Oh, sorry dudes. I'm not exactly a courtesan. There are a lot of them out there so you can go choose one. Anyways it seems like you're a little too busy. I'll go back later." I spoke passive-aggressively to them as I went away. Making all of them laugh at me and continue to leer at me like I'm some fresh meat.

"Wait wait! We're ready to order. Sorry for my friend's behavior. How come you drink with us as a sign of apology." A man tried to get me to sit with them.

"Oh sorry sir, I actually have to do a lot of things for my job. I can't just sit around and drink. If you really want to apologize, you can just give me a large tip." I smiled, requesting a tip.

"Oh, I'll give you a big tip alright." One of the men winked at me, making me gag in disgust.

"Alright then." I awkwardly smiled and asked for the drinks they wanted since it was my job. After taking it, I made it quickly for them so I can hand it to them easily so they can go out immediately, having to deal with these people is so uncomfortable.

After a few moments of them chatting loudly about their latest sexual conquests and how they seemingly manipulated women into sleeping with them. The annoying group of men left the establishment making me relieved, to say the least. My shift was also about to over so I decided to take the trash out in the back.

As I walked outside. I felt something really horrible is about to happen as I got into the alleyway that we put out the trash on. As I turned around I saw them... standing in a group and blocking the way.
