3 I : Assimilation

Upon stepping into the classroom,Rain could feel that all eyes was on him.He could see that most of the students were observing him,in an attempt to gauge his strength.As expected,there were also girls who seemed to be checking him out,apparently appreciating what they saw as shown by the blushes on some of their faces.If this was another person,they would crumble under all the attention they were getting due to the pressure one feels when faced with the feeling of being observed and analyzed by this much people.However,this is Rain we are talking about.He simply raise his own spiritual pressure,which instead turned the tables on the other students,causing some of them to have some slight difficulties in breathing.Even an outsider could tell that the atmosphere had become more tense,and because of this,most of the students in the class was struggling to breathe due to the pressure that they now feel from Rain while a small portion of the students who managed to withstand it was in awe of his indomitable strength.

' Okay class,let us welcome our new friend to this school! Rain,would you introduce yourself?' The teacher asked,in an attempt to ease the tension in the air and to cease the pressure that Rain was exerting.

Rain sighed,he released the pressure he was exerting and walked towards the front of the teacher's desk,facing the rest of the class.He looked around the classroom,seemingly trying to get to know the faces of his classmates,but to them,it was obvious that he seemed to be utterly disappointed by something,which they guessed was their capabilities, as shown by the downbeat look on his face.Rain analyzed the students that was seated in this class,he glanced at them one by one,as if he was gathering information about them,analyzing various ways to take all of them down in a fight.

Upon dismissing them as simply 'boring', Rain introduced himself to the rest of the class. ' I am Rain,Rain Fallenstein.I do not use a specific kind of magic and prefer to use what I deem useful.'

' Why don't you share more about yourself with the rest of the class? We would like to get to know you,ya know? ' One guy hollered out.

Rain's look hardened.This lowlife was clearly trying to waste his time,this was obviously an attempt to try and make Rain divulge more information about himself so that the rest of the class would be able to know more about his fighting style,which he deemed was a stupid thing to do.Just to get it over with,Rain continued : ' I prefer close-combat when dealing with enemies due to my physical prowess, I am also capable in using a sword. Is that enough to 'get to know me' ? '

Most of the students simply snickered,apparently forgetting about how Rain's pressure clearly dwarfed theirs,instead feeling satisfied now that they had the data that they have now obtained about him,and from what they had gathered,he was nothing much.

Rain sighed once again,displeased with the students in this class.Not because he was unhappy that they now knew so much about him,he gave them this information purposely,he was instead disappointed that they did not meet his expectations.From what he could sense,most of them had weak magical power and little to no experience in close-combat.To me,these people were simply too mundane.

' Okay Rain,your seat will be right at the back,right beside Scarlet! ' Upon hearing this,the eyes of many students seemed to pop out,and Rain noticed this.This Scarlet person was clearly a big deal in this class! However,Rain was in disbelief about this 'Scarlet's ' capabilities,after all,they were in the worse class.

He walked up to his assigned seat , and that was when he met her.

She was what people would call,a goddess.Her luscious red hair coupled with her beautiful golden eyes was enough to take the breath out of Rain.Her voluptuous body made her even more attractive,they were well-proportioned and the curves on her body clearly showed off her beauty.The clothes that she wore made her look even better,a simple Arkanian Academy uniform that hugged her body,displaying her extremely well-developed chest.The way she was seated was enough to give one a nosebleed as well.Her right leg was crossed over the other,which in Rain's opinion,made her even more seductive.Her beautiful face was simply divine as well.Her uncaring look made her look like a queen,she was nothing short of beautiful...However,what Rain found striking about her was the immense power that he could sense from her.Obviously,it was nothing compared to his,but when compared to the power that the other students holds,he could say with zero hesitation that she is in the top percentile of students in the whole school.Although Rain was slightly aloof,he still knows how to appreciate a first-class beauty when he sees one,and this girl was certainly a beauty.

It was then that a question popped into Rain's mind.She clearly has immense magical talent,so why was she in such a bad class?

He was shaken from his thoughts when he heard someone talking to him. ' Are you going to keep staring at me,pretty boy? ' That voice belonged to Scarlet.Of course,when Scarlet caught sight of Rain,she couldn't deny how handsome he looked,but she dismissed him as simply one of those nobles who looked nice but had no power to back it up,which Rain could also tell that that was her exact thoughts.

'It is a pleasure to meet you,Scarlet. ' He reached out his hand to shake Scarlet's. However,she merely ignored him and instead focused on the whiteboard,clearly showing her lack of interest in him.Upon seeing this,many of the male students who despised Rain snickered. Rain retracted his hand and simply took his seat right beside of her,deciding to just follow the lesson.

A few moments passed where Rain simply sat at his seat,due to his lack of interest in these lessons.

The current period was Magic Ethics class,and the students were trying to focus on their inner selves in order to further unlock the potential that was held in each and every one of them.He stole a glance at Scarlet,and saw that she was meditating as well.He wondered at this scene : ' With such power in her,why does she need to focus so? '

A few more moments passed and Magic Ethics class had ended.However,Rain was oblivious to the change in schedule due to his lack of knowledge about the school's timetable.He simply laid his head on the table while the other students left the classroom,which caught many by surprise.Even Scarlet raised an eyebrow at his actions,who knew that he was such a rebel?

When most of the students had left,Rain felt someone knocking on his table,trying to get his attention.He looked up and saw a boy that wore a pair of black glasses.He was what people would called in his stories,a nerd.It was then he heard the boy say : ' Hello Rain,my name is Aster.I was just curious,why aren't you going to the next lesson? '

Next lesson?Wasn't it break time now? ' I wasn't aware of there being a lesson after Magic Ethics class. ' Rain responded.

' It is Combat Class now,were you not aware of this? '

Rain shook his head.

' Well,I could bring you there!When we have some time,I will try to tell you more about the different lessons that we have! '

Rain felt that this boy could be trusted,so he added : ' Could you tell me more about this school as well? I want to learn more about how students are ranked,and how the system works. '

Aster nodded his head with a bright smile,clearly happy at potentially making a new friend.

A few minutes later,Rain and Aster had arrived in the schools' gymnasium,which was where Combat Class took place at.Rain marveled at the design of the place,it was massive! It was similar to a colosseum described in the books about ancient Rome.

However,Rain snapped out of his thoughts when he heard someone shouting at them.

' Why are the two of you so late !? ' Rain looked at the owner of the gruff voice,and was met with a masculine man who wore what seemed to be a military uniform. The man looked tough,which was further bolstered by the crewcut that he had.

' I believe I asked a question,so answer me! Why are the two of you so late !? ' He questioned angrily.

Before Rain could even utter a word,Aster had beaten him to it. ' S-Sir,Rain is a new student here so he is not clear with the lesson schedule.So I brought him here in what I believe is a fast enough time to not be late,so c-can you please let t-this slide...? ' He fearfully asked.

The instructor was clearly EXTREMELY upset with the two of them,so upset that he replied : ' Well then,Mr Rain' he said sarcastically. ' How would you like to be a demonstrator in today's combat exercise? This is to allow students to have a better understanding of what I will be teaching today and clearly,you seem to not understand anything ! '

Rain narrowed his eyes. ' Irritating. ' was the only thought that went through his mind.

He merely nodded his head,which seemed to frighten Aster.He pulled Rain aside and scrambled in his speech,nervously sputtering : ' Are you crazy!? Mr Roark is a top-level instructor known to never hold anything back when 'demonstrating' with his students! You are going to get yourself killed! '

Rain simply chuckled upon hearing him say that. ' Just watch ' he answered.

He walked towards the clearing that Mr Roark stood at,and faced him.He could tell that many of the students were laughing at his demise,some of the girls were even saddened by this due to their belief of him being extremely injured because of this. He looked at Scarlet,and saw that she seemed to hold the same belief as them as well,the belief of him being severely injured.To him,this was unacceptable,they were simply telling him straight to his face that they did not think much about him.

However,he noticed a slight change in Scarlet's emotions when he unconsciously smiled at her due to the constant flirting that he did with various beautiful women throughout his life.He could sense a small,yet,strong feeling of lust in her.He smiled at this.

He was interested in her due to a couple of reasons.Firstly,from what he heard from Aster during their walk here,she was placed in the last class due to her lack of control in her immense power.In his opinion,her lack of control was due to her lack of experience in REAL combat.Secondly,he has also heard from Aster that she was looked down upon by the elite class,which greatly displeased him due to the interest he has taken in the redhead beauty.He would fix those that laughed at her soon.He intends to make Scarlet his friend,it was clear that she has potential.If she was able to awaken it,he can confidently say that she would be second only to him and a few others in this entire city.Oh,and also because she was just too pretty.

He took a last glance at her and turned to face Mr Roark.He could tell that Mr Roark was a man that was extremely proud of his power,he would certainly take advantage of this detail.Rain gave Mr Roark a cocky smile,and taunted him : ' Mr Roark , can I really fight back? I am afraid that you would break your back when you are fighting with me,I mean,you look like someone who is all brawns and no brains after all. '

Rain smiled when he noticed that he had hit a nerve.The other students was taken aback by what he said,to them,he was CRAZY! However,there were also students who laughed hysterically at this while holding their stomach. Never have they ever seen someone who dared to insult Mr Roark like that!

It was then the tension in the air became suffocating.Mr Roark was absolutely furious!

' I've decided,I am going to make sure I teach you some respect,you brat ! '

Rain faced him with a smile : ' Let battle rejoice then,come at me with all you get,you overgrown lump of muscle. '

That was the last straw for Mr Roark as he shouted to the heavens in anger...
