That doesn't sound reassuring, at all. I kept pointing my gun at her, and even Eve didn't relax, her body in a position ready to pounce.

"I promise you, I won't do anything. Rather, I'm here to help you."

Help me?

Sure, you helped me quite a lot back in that room, when you threw a god-damn flower at my dick and tried to violate my mind!

"What makes you think I want your help? Hell, why would I even trust you?"

"How long have you been in this floor?"

Eh? What's up with this question?

"...Why does that matter to you?"

"You've been here for quite a while, yes? And yet, you haven't found an exit to this place." She said calmly, her voice soothing. "That's because of the Snake Demon. She casted a spatial spell that hides the exit, and finding it is practically impossible."

Woah what. You're telling me a demon can manipulate SPACE itself, and hide the door? What kind of-

"This is the reason no one had managed to escape from this place when she attacked. Even escaping from the windows is not an option, as the Spatial Spell will just warp you back to your previous location."

...

That... sounds horrible. What the hell am I supposed to do then?!

No- wait, I don't know if what she said is true. I have got to try it.

I kept aiming my gun at her, and with my other hand, I took a small piece of rubble on the ground that dropped from the cracked walls. I glanced at my surroundings and found a window.

I didn't try to escape from a window because, well, they were too small for me. I'm not sure if even a child will fit in those gaps. Not sure why they made it like that, but that doesn't matter, for now.

Since the window was destroyed, I slowly aimed my rock and threw it with all my strength.

And sure enough, just as it was about to leave the building, it suddenly disappeared and-

...? I looked at the ground, and I saw the same rock I just threw.

"Do you trust me now?" She said with a smug smile on her face, clearly thinking that she had proved her innocence.

"No."

"W-What?! Why?!"

What do you mean, why?! You were trying to suck my very soul not so long ago! Of course I'm not trusting you yet!

"Why are you even helping me, anyways?"

"Hmph," Probably pissed because I'm still not trusting her, she grunted, "I'm simply interested. Why didn't you kill me back there?"

Honestly? I don't know. I don't know why I spared her. I just couldn't kill her, for whatever reason. It's weird because I feel like if it was, for example, Ivy, I don't think I would've hesitated to kill her.

Maybe because... I didn't feel any killing intent? When I was fighting her, some vines that should've injured me just suddenly changed their trajectory a bit, and avoided me, as if she didn't want to injure me. It was simply odd. It wasn't like Ivy, whose attacks had all the intent of ending my life right there.

I don't want to say some pacifist shit and say that monsters aren't evil, since they need us to survive and whatnot, they are still enemies. They are like wild animals. Sucking us humans off will lead to our death. They are dangerous, and I shouldn't keep them alive.

But still...

Ah, what is wrong with me?

"...Are you okay?" The girl's voice caused me to get out of my trance, "You seem like you're not even sure why you saved me."

That's because I am.

"... Listen, I promise I'm not here to kill you or mate with you. I'm simply here because of my curiosity, and..." She glanced at Eve, to which she responded with a bark, "I also want to know what did you do with that Garast."

Garast? Oh, right. She did mention that when we were fighting too. Is that Eve's species name?

"That Garast-"

"Eve."

"...?"

"Her name is Eve."

"Woof!" Eve responded with another bark, her tongue out, and her tail wagging happily, clearly delighted about her name. The girl looked at us with surprise on her face, before letting out a sigh.

"Eve, okay. Your 'Eve' has a weird kind of energy within her. It's similar to a human's energy, but that doesn't make sense. When a Garast mates with a human, they would simply be brought back to the underworld with that soul, and live the rest of their lives there. But here, It isn't fully human energy, it's as if she just took a portion of it, which should be impossible."

Oh, really now? Is this what my latent potential is? Zero did say that a normal human should've fallen unconscious if Eve kissed them, but that didn't happen to me because of that latent potential. I can simply kiss her in order to extend her lifespan, and her energy, too.

Shit, I might really be the chosen one, or whatever.

"...I'm not sure, but-" Before I could even respond, Eve immediately interrupted me.

"Woof!"

For some reason, the girl's face expressed shock, and she immediately turned towards Eve, her eyes in disbelief.

"Wait, you mean-"

"Woof!"

"So- You just- Kissed him?"

"Woof, woof!"

"That's..." She turned her gaze towards me, her expression still that of shock, but now her eyes contained something in them- Excitement, hope, relief, happiness.

Uh oh, for some reason, I feel a bit scared now.

"That explains a lot. No wonder I felt rejuvenated when I licked my Soul-Sucking flower... It was powerful, just a mere taste gave me this much energy."

Ah, don't remind me of that flower, please.

"I had an inkling feeling, but it seems my hypothesis is true. You are one of 'those' people."

...? Those people? Who the hell are you talking about?

Noticing my expression, the girl let out a small giggle, before explaining; "Some humans have latent potential in them. Most of them unlock their potential when fighting against Demons. Due to that, magical energy begins to flow in their body, granting them great strength. And of course, that means their soul is far stronger than normal humans as well."

Wait, what? Do you mean I'm not the only one with this kind of power? Great, the game knowledge is wrong, once more.

"However, those people are usually Demon hunters, or, what you people call it, Monster hunters. Due to the magical energy that is flowing in them, they could easily kill Demons, and most of them could coat their body with energy, making physical attacks with their body possible. But..."

She looked me up and down as if something was bothering her. She let out a soft hum, and tilted her head.

What? Why are you looking at me like that?

"It's odd. Although I don't know what Humans taste like in general, let alone those with their potential unlocked, but according to the Demon who tasted the latter, it shouldn't be like this. You are different." She said calmly, although a hint of excitement is still in her voice, "You are way too different. With just a mere kiss, you managed to extend Gara- Eve's lifespan and a simple taste of your member gave me energy. That shouldn't be the case, at least, it shouldn't be this powerful."

She glanced at me and licked her lips. Shit, come on, don't do that! "It seems it was the right choice to link my soul to yours. I've got quite the good one~"

She started moving closer to me, her eyes fixated on my own. Thankfully, she didn't try to mind rape me or anything, but still! This is creeping me out!

"Don't get any closer."

"Woof!"

...? I glanced toward Eve, and instead of having an angry expression or anything toward the girl, she just barked at me, her tail still wagging. It was as if she was telling me that this girl wasn't dangerous. You were about to tear her to pieces just a few seconds ago, what the hell happened to you?!

"I'll repeat this again, I promise I mean no harm." A shaky smile began to form, and her eyes turned a bit crazy, "Your potential is extraordinary. And different, too. Please, on my life, I truly mean no harm."

What the hell is up with this girl? I don't care what kind of potential I have, just don't get any closer to me! I'll shoot, god damn it!

"Woof!"

...I have a feeling you want me dead here, Eve. Fine, I'll put this bloody weapon down, damn it.

After holstering my weapon, the girl slowly went towards me and touched my face with her shaky hands, her face a mere inches away from mine. I had the urge to just kick her away since I don't feel comfortable with this girl, but Eve just kept barking to calm me down.

Honestly, I'm not sure what surprises me the most here. The fact that I'm letting this girl, who tried to suck my soul not so long ago, or the fact that I'm beginning to pretty much understand Eve at this point?

"Woof!"

The girl's soft breath tickled my face, and I hate to admit it, but it seems there was an aroma in her breath similar to that of the previous room. It was calming and, honestly, amazing.

She slowly got her face slower to me, and closed her eyes, her lips centimeters away from mine.

Nah.

I put my hand between our faces, not allowing her to kiss me. She looked at me with surprise, which, funnily enough, surprised me! Did you honestly think I'll just let you kiss me like that?!

"Kiss me." She muttered, which I answered with;

"No. Fuck off."

"Please. I want to test it."

"I don't care. You have 3 seconds to get away from me-"

"Woof!"

"Shut up, Eve. I'm not letting her kiss me."

I slowly shoved her, and she didn't resist, she just gave me a disappointed expression. You can be disappointed as much as you want, but I am not letting you kiss me, not with that weird nectar in her saliva. God knows what will happen to me if I kissed you.

"Then..." She brought her hand to her chin and let out a hum.

After a few seconds, she let out a sudden 'Oh!' and snapped her fingers, "Your hand!"

Eh? My hand? What is up with it?

"Give me your hand, I can still test it with your hand."

What? You can do that?

Ah, what am I even saying? If they can get my energy from my tongue, or just a taste of my member, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Haah... Well, I don't feel any ill intent, not even a little bit. It wasn't like that when we fought, although there wasn't any killing intent there, there was some, well, I don't know, lust intent?

Whatever, I can give her my hand, as long as my other hand is on the gun. If she tried to do anything, I can just shoot her.

My left hand instinctively went to the gun, and I slowly extended my right hand toward her. With a small smile, she kneeled, and gently touched my hand.

Ah, what the hell are you doing? It's just my hand, why are you acting like it's something majestic?

She lightly licked one of my fingertips, which made me a bit uncomfortable and made me grip my gun. She stopped for a few seconds, before licking in once more.

We stayed like this for a few moments. I didn't feel my energy disappearing or anything like that, I just felt, well, fucking creeped out.

Then, with a sudden movement that almost gave me a heart attack, she began to suck one of my fingers. It weirded me out, but I still didn't aim my gun at her, just strengthened my grip.

Um...

I hate to say this, but, this... is kind of hot? Damn, I didn't think someone sucking my finger would be this arousing.

And, wow, she's really into it! Her eyes were full of lust, and her sucking power was horrifyingly strong! She kept on licking it with her long tongue, although it wasn't as versatile as Eve, it was still amazing!

Shit, this might be an attempt to charm me, I can't lose focus. I glanced toward Eve, and she just sat there, her tongue still out, and a dumb, happy expression on her face.

"Mmm~" She let out a soft moan as she kept on sucking it. This... Ah, I can feel a bit of my energy being sapped. At first, it was a simple uneasiness, but then, I felt a bit fatigued, and my eyes felt tired. And this just kept on going. What's more, she seemed even more energized, as her sucking power increased, and she played with my finger with her tongue.

Shit, this feeling... It's as if I want her to stay like this, and I could feel the tension in my pants, too. I wouldn't mind if I just...

No, let's stop right now. This is dangerous!

"Alright, that's enough!" I forcefully pulled my hand away from her, and, although she tried her best to keep it there, she was too focused on sucking it, and didn't put much strength on her hands to stop me.

After pulling it away, she just kept gazing at my hand, as if it was the best thing in the world. A string of saliva was still between her mouth and my finger. After a few moments, she shook her head and snapped out of her trance. She licked her lips, letting a rather creepy hum, and a devious smile appeared on her face.

Okay, I feel a bit scared now.

"Amazing... With just your hand, I feel alive! I feel full of energy! You are..." She muttered, her voice shaky, "You are... perfect! With this... I can transform... I can transform into a true Flora!"

She kept on mumbling, her eyes still fixated on my hand. Alright, now I'm officially scared.

"...Look, is that good enough? Can you now help me with this... whole situation? How the hell do I get out of here?"
