2 Horizon #1: School = Fun? I Doubt It…

The spectators cheered as the word 'Victory' flashed on the young teen's computer screen. It was too easy for him, actually. The game was merely like a child's play. He was too tough to be taken down by some bunch of bronze-ranked nobodies. [1]

"Woah! You sure live up to your alias, huh? 'God of the League'." An unkown voice spoke up behind him. The said teen lazily turned around to look at the owner of the voice. He was disappointed with what he saw. It was just some average boy who seemed to be looking for a fight.

The boy scoffed at the look that the victor gave him. "Tch. You sure look cocky. How about a one on one match later at 5? I bet you can't even defeat me." The seated boy wondered what he would do. He could easily defeat this arrogant bastard that's challenging him. He finally made up his mind and turned away to look at the computer screen again.

"I got more important things to do. Come back next time." His monotonous voice seemed to have irritated the boy behind him. "Hmph. Afraid you're gonna get beat in front of your audiences?" The boy tried to taunt him, but alas, his mind never wavered.

"See ya later, Karl." The 'God of the League' waved at the operator of the computer shop as he exited through the glass door. "Careful on the road, Matt." Answered the computer shop operator, Karl. As soon as the door closed, murmurs and chatters erupted from the bystanders present when the challenge was made.

"Seriously, what is that kid thinking? Challenging someone who's clearly better than him..."

"He'll never win against the 'God of the League'."

"Heh, that guy's one cocky brat. Picking a fight he'll never win."

"Stop dreaming, dude! He's so out of your league!"

"What an arrogant jerk..."

"That guy is born to play. You'll never beat him."

"Just go home and water your plants!"

The boy gritted his teeth in disconcertment. His challenge was brutally rejected and he was forcibly subjected to agonizing embarrassment in front of so many people.

"Just you wait and see. I'm gonna take down that 'God of the League'..."

He muttered before going out to leave that hellhole.

___

"Matthew Emmanuel Guillard!"

The brown haired boy raised his head lazily and looked at the intruder who shamelessly barged in his room. His interest was captured when he saw that it was his father. Aww, man. He thought and attempted to cover the duvet over his head but his father pulled the other end.

"Hi, Dad." Avoiding the problem didn't work so he had no choice but to face it. "What am I hearing from the principal, huh?!" The older man demanded as he scowled at his son who did nothing but shrug. "I don't know. What were you hearing from the principal?" His response only infuriated the already enraged old ma-- erm, I mean, middle-aged man.

The brown haired boy observed in amusement as his father's face contorted to an angry one then changed to a defeated look. "Matthew... please. At least finish highschool then after that, you can do anything you want in your life. Please." His facial features never changed as he watched his father beg in front of him. "Don't worry, Dad. I'm not failing my grades, I just have a little problem with the attendance, that's all."

His father only stared at him for almost a minute. "You do know the humiliation that will befall our family if they found out that you, my only son, can't even finish highschool." The boy remained unfazed by his father's warning and just shrugged it off. His mind clicked as an idea went to his head. "I'll go to school tomorrow if that makes you feel better." He tried to assure his dad who looked unimpressed but still slightly satisfied. The older man sighed and walked out of his son's room.

The brown haired boy smirked to himself when the door closed shut. "Hmm... I wonder what would happen tomorrow."

___

Friday morning at Arrelia Sveill University consisted of a fair amount of students. Most of the classes during this time of the week was Physical Education that's why some of the students went AWOL. A group of six teenage boys walked through the hallway of the school and the people parted as they traversed along.

"We totally wiped them! Ha, they didn't even score!" A red haired boy with a smirk laughed heartily as he recalled the events yesterday. Someone slung a hand on his shoulder. It was a tanned boy with black hair. "Yeah! Noobs!!" With this, the group laughed while walking to their classroom. The people around looked at them suspiciously but they couldn't care less.

***

Matthew found it really hard to remember where classroom 34-B is. It's been a long time since his last visit here. "Hmm... what should I do?" He muttered as he looked around searching for a familiar face. He was distracted from his thoughts when someone accidentally bumped him. Annoyed, he turned to look at the one who dared to cross him. What a shock he got. A girl with curly brown hair and piercing hazel eyes that seems to glow amber stood in front of him. It seems that luck is on his side for this girl, if he remembers it right, is one of his classmates. "Matthew?!" The girl shouted in surprise. "K-Kristine..." He breathed out her name in a low voice. "...right?"

A look of confusion passed the girl's face then it slowly morphed to anger. "Huh?!?!!! Don't tell me you forgot my name?!" The brown haired boy frantically waved his hands in front of him. "O-Of course not!"

The girl only narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Then, what's my name?"

"Isn't it Kristine?"

"Nope."

"What about Karla?"

"Negative."

"Katrina...?"

"No."

"I remember now! It's Kristina, right?"

". . . . ."

"Kristina... you okay?"

". . . . ."

"...Kristina?"

"MY NAME IS NOT KRISTINA!!"

Matthew covered his ears at the girl's outburst. "It's Krishna! Krishna Salem! Don't you dare forget my name ever again!" And with that, the brown haired girl walked away leaving a flabbergasted boy in her wake. After a few seconds, he finally fixed his composure and smiled like nothing ever happened. "Krishna... interesting."

Smiling as he thought about the earlier encounter, he realized that he totally forgot the reason why he turned around to talk to that girl in the first place. "Damn, I never got the chance to ask where classroom 34-B is..." A tap on his back disturbed him from his imaginations. He wearily looked over his shoulder. "Can't recall where the classroom is? I'll take you there!"

A girl with burgundy shoulder-length hair and a cheerful demeanor greeted his vision. He can only remember it vaguely but this is one of his classmates too. Lady Luck must be really smiling on Matthew today. "C'mon! Or we're gonna be late!" The girl, who is now currently dragging him to who-knows-where, smiled as she clasped their hands together. This, Matthew thought, feels really familiar.

_____

All eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. Everyone's jaws we're already on the ground. They can't seem to believe that he finally entered class. After 2 months of absence since the beginning of school year, he finally came. The 'Lord of the Class Bunkers' stood on the doorway, unsure of what to do. "Let's go in." The burgundy haired girl tugged at his hand to pull him in the room.

A boy with bleached blond spiky hair approached the pair. "Matthew... is that you?" Matthew literally facepalmed in front of everyone. "No, it's not me Paulo. It's just some holographic image, an illusion, a mirage. You're just hallucinating, I'm not here." Five boys approached the three. An ash-blond boy patted Matthew's shoulder and graced him with a smile. A derp smile.

"Glad to have you back." The brown haired boy only grinned to his friend in response. "I don't really know if I'm gonna be happy that I'm back but it's good to see you again, Alex." A pair of hands wrapped around Matthew's torso which made him turn to see who it is. His eyes widened in disgust when he saw who it was. "CAIDE!!! Get your hands off of me or I swear I'm gonna skin you alive and grill your meat to feed my dogs!" The boys around them laughed like there's no tomorrow. Paulo shamelessly rolled on the ground, Alex was already crying in pure amusement while the others roared in laughter. "That's so brutal, Matt!" The bleached blond teen said in between his laughs.

The red haired boy, Caide, raised his hands indicating his surrender. "Okay, okay. Do you even have a dog?" He muttered the last part of his comment. Matthew clearly didn't hear it and just walked grumpily to an empty chair in the back. This is gonna be a long day...

---

It's Matthew's first day in school after being absent for two months! Will he own this school like he owns the lane?

You must never reject free food.

"DETENTION AFTER CLASS!!"

"What the hell is happening?!"

Shake, rumble, quake.

[1] I don't have anything against bronzed-ranked players in LoL, 'kay? I have a couple of boy friends (as in friends that are boys) who are ranked bronze and there's nothing wrong with that. If you are ranked bronze then be proud of it. It's all Matthew coz he's too arrogant. It's Matthew, not me *tries to look innocent*
