2 Prologue

"Hey." A voice said beside me, looking up, there I saw, Heath, the future alpha of the werewolf pack, Grimiore, it was pretty unexpected that he of all people would approach me, Heath was the son of Thorn Patterson, the alpha of the most known werewolf pack in the world.

He's quite the eye candy, he stood at the height of six foot and three inches, his skin was slightly tanned, as expected from being the future alpha, his body was well built, his hair was dirty blonde, and the way it looked messy added a factor to his appeal.

"Why are you here?" He asked as he sat down beside me, looking above at the stars like I did, "You're Lady Irene's descendant aren't you? Lionel, One of the Espers of Moondane Kingdom right?" He asked, facing him with a nod, he grinned as he brought his hand out, "I'm pretty sure you know me right? So I don't need to introduce myself, but you wouldn't mind if I befriend you, right?" He asked.

"Not at all, I wouldn't mind befriending the alpha of my friend's mate." I replied jokingly.

"Wait, who?"

"Your Beta Hourn mated with my friend Cade last year right?" I reminded, at first he seemed confused, but then he seemed to have remembered, and grinned, "Ah yes!"

Cade, my friend was an esper like me who specializes on controlling the nature and land, he was just as tall as me, who stood around five foot and six inches, he had a dark brown hair and green eyes, he had a peppy and bright attitude to which Hourn, fell for, he became whipped for him as he worked his way up to the councils of Espers just to make Cade his mate, why? Espers were prohibited from mating with a different species and Hourn proved his worth.

Hourn, was just like Heath, he stood around the height of six foot and two inches, he had a tanned skin and a black raven hair, he also had the charm to attract every girl and make them swoon over him, but he chose to mate with a male esper.

"Hourn always talked about a certain esper that caught his heart, I never knew I would meet the friend of my beta's mate." He chuckled at he scratched his nape, "Why is the alpha of the most well known pack here beside me?" I asked, hugging my knees as we sat in the hill, "I wanted to get away, from all these alpha works, they kept pressuring me to find a mate, I'm only eighteen, I still wanted to explore my youth, I don't want the responsibility at this early age."

"Ah, I may not have it but, I do understand, too much responsibility and expectations from everyone can give you too much pressure." I replied as he sighed.

"How about you? What are you doing here?" He asks as he sat closer to me, "I'm having a hard time finding my purpose." I replied as I looked above the stars, "What do you mean?"

"As you know, I have graduated the school of espers, I made it to the highest kingdom where espers could ever join in, I have given the life I wanted for my parents and worked hard, but, something's just missing, I still feel dissatisfaction and dull." I explained as I looked in my hand.

He went silent as he looked down in the ground, contemplating whether to speak or not.

When suddenly, his head perked up, and was about to speak, but decided to take it back, "Nah, there's too much risk." He mumbled to himself.

"What? What is it?" I asked, curiosity taking over me as I faced my body to him as I crossed my legs while I looked at him, "Well, this idea just came to my mind, it would benefit the both of us, although the sacrifice that has to be made will take forever."

Now I was grinning, "I'm in, nothing's holding me back afterall." I said and he looked at me with a grin.

"Well, Lionel, I wouldn't be too sure if you're up for this."

"Try me."

He took a deep breath before standing up, and I stood up as well, "Would you want to be my mate?"

The question caught me off guard, my eyes widening, "P-pardon?"

"I asked, would you want to be my mate? I figured you would be a potential mate, such a caring and supportive friend who doesn't seek power, a person who loves his family so deep, and when you said that you felt like you still hadn't found yourself, I wanted to be a part of that, everyone my dad introduces to me doesn't spark my interest, he has introduced me princesses, daughters of strong alphas, royalties and powerful creatures with such beauty you can never compare, but none of them attracted me, you, though, intrigued me, it made me want to know you more, plus, I think it would benefit my pack and the moondane kingdom."

When he said that, I think I understood his point but, one thing concerned me, "What about an heir? You need that right?"

"You wouldn't have to worry about that, male, or female, once your mate is an alpha, you can bear a child." He said which made my eyes widened, "Wait, I can get pregnant?" I asked in shock to which he nodded and chuckled at, "It's a pretty normal thing between same sex mates, not only alphas or betas, a submissive mate can produce an offspring whatever their gender are." He stated and smiled as he explained, "So, what do you say, dear Esper of the Moondane kingdom, are you in?"

I chuckled and shook my head as I look up at him, I saw him offering his hand as he waited for an answer, "I'd be delighted, future alpha Heath." I said, taking his hand as he planted a kiss on my hand, well, what a gentleman.

"Shall we announce it to the party?" Ah, I forgot to mention that we were on a huge gathering of paranormal creatures, to celebrate the day of the birth of the new king of the vampire kingdom.

Once again, he offered his arm, as I took it, we approached the hall where everyone gathered, to announce that we are deciding to mate, even when this was just a small challenge to begin with between two teens.
