4 Chapter 2

"Thank you sir Lionel, and also Alpha Heath for resolving the issues about the attack of worgs, I have no idea why the Kingdom of Hera won't respond to my request, thankfully the Moondane Kingdom helped us." The mayor of the village said with such gratitude as he handed us the pouch of money.

"It is our duty to assist and help people, even if they're from our kingdom or not, I am glad to be a help to you today, if any attacks or issues happens once again, you can contact me or anyone from the Moondane to help you." I said in formality and bowed, "It is also a great news to hear about the mating union of you and Alpha Heath, I wish you well." The Mayor stated as if he was congratulating us.

"Thank you, and may peace always be by your side, we shall be on our way now." Heath replied and bowed as well, taking my hand and pulled me from the building, "Do you have anymore duties I can help with today?" Heath asked as we walked in the road, he placed an arm in my shoulder as we walked beneath the large yet beautiful trees that almost blocked the sun completely.

"None, I was just thinking of going to the city and go to a cafe or some malls, just to entertain myself, then I would drop by the orphanage of shifters to see the kids we saved last two months ago."

"Well, do you want me to accompany you? Might as well go on a date." He said teasingly as he wiggled his eyebrows, "Wait, kids? Can I come with?" He said as if he was enthusiastic about the thought of kids, of course I agree, there's no reason to say no, we were going to mate and I feel like he would get along with the kids well.

"Would you mind if I bought some gifts for the kids along the way?" Heath suddenly asked out of the blue, taking me aback, then a smile spread through my face and sighed, facing him, he looked down at me, leaning up in tiptoes, I gave him a peck on the lips, him not expecting that at all, suddenly, a flush spread through his cheeks as he scratched his nape.

Why did I do that? I felt the need to do a sweet gesture because, I find it sweet, the way he was being to enthusiastic about seeing the kids in the orphan, even though it's the first time he's seeing them, he even thought of buying them gifts, and we did say we were going to mate so it's better if I make myself comfortable.

So we decided to buy new clothes for the kids, I insisted that we should share for the payment but he was too hardheaded and decided to pay for them all, in the end even though he was the one who paid, he seemed happy about it, so after buying the gifts we finally decided to head to the orphanage.

We have arrived the place where the orphanage is, it was surrounded with trees that has orange leaves, whether it was autumn or not, the colors of the leaves became permanent, as we approach the building, in our line of sight was children playing tag, the more we got closer, the noise of the happy children became louder, soon, one boy noticed us coming closer and ran towards us.

I recognized the boy that was running towards us as Knight, he was born an alpha wolf, but his former pack died from an attack, behind him, the boy he was pulling was a little shorter that him, was Shin, no one knew what species he was, nor where he came from, he was a quiet little guy and Knight was always there to speak for him, fight other kids for him or even sleep in the same bed with him.

"Lionel! You're back!" He exclaimed happily and stopped in front of us as he held the hand of Shin who simply smiled at me and bowed, "Who's he? And why is he staring at my Shin."  Knight suddenly glared at Heath who stared in Shin in pure awe and adoration.

"He is my mate." I answered as Heath broke from staring at the boy because of the word mate, and smiled, "Hi, I'm Heath, I could tell you're an alpha wolf too with the scent you are emitting, I an one too." Heath introduced as he crouched in front of Knight who had his mouth agape and now stared at Heath with amaze in his eyes.

I then left the two alphas to converse and went to greet the other kids, once they saw me, they paused their game of tag and ran to me, "Lionel!" They greeted simultaneously, one girl went and hugged me by the waist, I patted her head and smiled, "Have you guys been good?" I asked, before they could answer, a familiar voice answered, "They have been behaving well." A deep male voice replied, and I looked up to see Garreth, a wolf shifter, he was as tall as my mate, his dark brown hair was combed well and he had obvious muscles.

A fact, he seems like a scary and intimidating guy but he has a huge crush on my fellow esper, the shadow esper Jade, Jade was also a small slightly built guy, he wasn't muscular but he had some small muscles, he was a feisty guy which attracted Garreth, they were like a cat and dog type, Jade was feisty and moody, he doesn't like being touched, while Garreth was very possessive of Jade, he liked starting a fight when it comes to Jade and he likes to follow him around.

"How's Jade?" He asked, "The usual, he's always on a quest with Cade, and don't worry, no one is hitting on your beloved." I reassured since I noticed he was tense, but with the news heard, Garreth seemed to have relaxed, I looked over Heath to see that the kids was surrounding him as he gave the clothes he bought to the kids who were filled with delight.

"I heard you were now set to mate with Alpha Heath, I congratulate you, Heath is one lucky guy to have a caring and doting mate." How does news spread so fast? It's been like only a few days and the news already got out?

"Ah, thank you, I do hope courting Jade goes well for you, when do you plan of confessing your feelings to him?" I asked as we both faced the kids who were now trying out the clothes as Heath assisted some kid who were struggling with the clothes, I even saw Knight giving Shin clothes who would shyly try the clothe while Knight must be complimenting him, there is no mistake, there is a possibility Knight would choose Shin as his mate.

"Ah, well, you see, I already did." Garreth replied which caught me off guard, I turned to look at him with wide eyes as he chuckled, "Really? How did it go? Was its successful?" I asked eagerly with a grin on my face, he smiled as if he had the best dream he just had and I knew right then that it was a successful confession.

"He didn't completely accept my confession, but he said he would let me pursue him, he also said he still isn't ready for a relationship."

Ah, yes, a year before we graduate as the espers of the Moondane Kingdom, Jade has his heart broken so much that he had turned down various men who tried pursuing him, even women, now it was a shock for me that he had even let Garreth court and pursue him, I was feeling happy for them.

"It's understandable, but I believe that once you have pursued Jade, I think you two would make a fine couple, I trust you with him, he is a dear friend to me, so I expect you to take care of him, even the other way around, I also don't want you ending up hurt, alright?" I stated as he smiled as a reply and I couldn't be more content.

"Hey babe." Finally, a voice sounded, looking up I saw Heath with a genuine smile, as the children now enjoyed their newly bought clothes, "Hi, I am Heath Patterson, and you must be?"

"Garreth Circe, a lion shifter, it is a pleasure to meet the future Alpha of the strongest werewolf pack." Garreth replied, "Please take care of my dear friend, he is like a younger brother to me so if I ever hear that you hurt him, I will not hesitate to take you down, no matter what your status is." Garreth added threateningly to which Heath nodded at.

Cute, Jade's got a keeper.

The visit in the orphanage was fun, we played with the kids for a while, Heath and Garreth shifted to play with the kids and it was such a cute sight to see, a lion and a huge wolf playing with kids, an alpha even.

I had a chat with Shin, he was surprisingly obedient, timid and cute, he told me stories of what he and Knight would do, I also found out Shin has a small crush on Knight, why? He told me stories that when other kids would come and play with Shin, Knight would get jealous and start a kiddie fight, Knight doesn't like it when they're not around each other, they would even take a bath together, which wasn't an issue yet since they were only like seven and eight.

It was cute to see how sweet Knight was to him, I do wish their future to be bright and successful, that may they overcome all the obstacles they cross path with, but as for now, they shouldn't think of that, and enjoy their youth.

Right now, Heath and I are now sitting at the hill beneath the tree by the river, it was near the orphanage house, Heath placed me between his legs as he hugged me from behind, he said that if we were going to be mates, we might as well be comfortable with each other as soon as possible, and let me tell you, it was one heck of a hug, it was warm and comfortable.

He even nuzzled his nose on my neck which sent chills down to my spine, as I rested my arm on his that were wrapped around my waist, "I didn't expect you to be so soft when we cuddle, I guess I'll make this a habit." Heath teased which sent a flush to my cheeks.

"Do shut up."

He only chuckled as he planted a kiss on my neck, "I must say, I find myself being attracted to you day by day, sir Moore." He said huskily and with no shame, "How blunt of you, sir Patterson." I teased back, "I wouldn't hide my feelings to you, I want to be fully open and honest to you." He said as he now rested his chin at my shoulder and tightened his arms around me comfortably.

"Well, I do find myself slowly falling for you as well, sir Patterson." I said truthfully, there was no point in denying it, "I think this mating would end up fine." Heath said as he raised a hand to tild my head, as he placed his lips above mine.

And I couldn't ask for a better mate, I was glad I met him at the party several days ago, and I am glad I didn't regret accepting his proposal, it would benefit both the pack and the kingdom, and now we find ourselves slowly falling for each other day by day slowly, I guess you could say it was turning into a success.
