16 Heavenly Beast

"Big brother, big brother. Where are they?"

"Ceci would be all right? Tell me. Would she?" Camy was bugging Vladis and like usual he was humming to entertain her. He was all sweaty and tired of carrying her. Camy noticed the fine sheen of sweat on his forehead and wiped it with her sleeves and started blowing air on him so he would not feel hot but this action made Vladis ticklish and he started laughing.

Camy was enjoying seeing Vladis laugh so much so she did not stop her attack until Vladis had tears in his eyes. He told her not to mess and requested her to cling to him and sit still.

Vladis closed his eyes for a moment to concentrate and increase his senses when suddenly Camy poked him on his cheeks and his eyes flew open and before he could utter a word, he felt strange energy coming towards him. He lifted his head to look straight. There he saw a large majestic beast. He was sure that it was a heavenly beast. He became excited but all the excitement went down the drain as soon as he realized that he was carrying Camy.

It was a hard task to deal with the beast alone with no hindrance forget about when he was carrying someone.

"Camy hold me tight and don't you dare wiggle"

"Why big brother?"

"Because we are going for a run now" and before she can say something else Vladis started running with all his might toward a place where there were more trees.

As usual, the beast started chasing after them.

Camy was trying her best not to cry but Vladis could sense her mood and thus he gripped her harder while he consoled her with his signature smile. "Camy don't worry and don't forget that I have promised you that nothing will happen to you so don't fear" and with that, he ran deeper into the forest.

On the other hand, Arthur was carrying Ceci. He was contemplating their path when he heard some noises from his left side. Bushes and trees covered the place that they were on so he was not able to see what was coming towards them but he was alarmed and took a defensive position.

Ceci trembled when she saw someone coming and fear gripped her. Arthur gripped her harder. "Don't you dare move. I am already exhausted by carrying you around and because of you on my back, I Can't move openly so just stick yourself to me. Do you understand?" He said lazily.

'It's not like I asked you to carry me. You yourself suggested this idea so why are you mad at me now" Ceci pouted angrily.

This man here was insane.

"...."

Arthur was dumbfounded.

No one has ever talked to him in this manner and he took some time to react to herself and before he could say anything. He saw something unbelievable. A young boy of his age was running towards them. No, he was not alone. Just like him, he was also carrying a young girl of the same age as Ceci on his back. When the boy got close Arthur saw his face and was again shocked. He was none other than his best friend Vladis. Vladis also saw Arthur and was delighted. Camy instantly saw her sister and started shouting and wiggling on Vladis back.

"Ceci, Ceci. Open your eyes. Look, it's me Camy. Ceci open your eyes, pretty please" Camy was shouting nonstop.

"Big brother are we dead. Why do I feel like I am hearing Camy's voice?"

"..."

Ceci closed her eyes in fear as she was now she was uttering rubbish. Arthur frowned very hard and then spoke, "You dumbo. You open your eyes first and see yourself"

Ceci opened her eyes grumpily and was ready to counter Arthur but as soon as she opened her eyes she saw her dear sister Camy. She was so happy that she too started wiggling and when Arthur did not let her loose she kicked him very hard, thus Arthur left her loose and she nimbly claimed down from his back and went straight for his sister.

"You mean girl. Is that the way how you repay someone's kindness?" Arthur groaned in pain

Vladis chuckled and then he very gently crouched down in fear that Camy may fall. Camy also climbed down from Vladis back and went forward to hug her sister. As soon as both the sisters hugged each other they all heard sounds of trees crashing.

"Arthur he is here. He is chasing us. The heavenly beast is here. You go create a shield for both. For the time being, I will tackle him" and with that Vladis took his dagger out and lunged toward the beast.

Arthur took both of the little girls and made them stand near a tree. "Both of you, come what may, you will not leave this bubble. You understand?" Arthur questioned them.

"okay big brother" Camy replied fearfully.

"Okay. It's not like we have any intention to fight that beast" Ciel scoffed.

Arthur had enough of her and thus he ignored her. He then chanted some spell and instantly a blue bubble surrounded both of them Arthur left them there and went on to fight the heavenly beast. When he came for help Vladis had already exchanged several blows with the beast. The beast was a powerful one and Vladis was having a hard time with him. Arthur too lunged towards the beast and started attacking him. The fight was extreme and it took them a good few minutes to subdue the beast.

Vladis aimed his dagger near his heart and with accurate power, he threw the dagger towards the beast. The attack made the beast paralyzed, and he fell on the ground.

The power through which he had attacked the beast was not enough to kill him. It was never a plan of Vladis to kill the beast, he just attacked him near his heart so it can be paralyzed, and then both Vladis and Arthur Crossed their arms and started chanting a spell. The purple light was emitting from their bodies and soon they opened their eyes and collected that purple light into their hands and afterward they threw the light toward it.

The beast groaned loudly in pain. It was a blood-curdling scream which terrified every animal present in the jungle. After a few moments, the beast stood up and bowed his head toward Arthur and then left.

"Are you sure he won't come back?" Vladies asked in doubt.

"Of course. I will break his legs if he dares to" Arthur chuckled lazily.

Although it was an intense battle Arthur and Vladis didn't feel any ounce of greatness after defeating the beast instead they headed toward the girls. Soon they reached there and Arthur called off the barrier as the blue bubble vanished.
