The wolf empire

"Morning, sleepy head." A voice interrupts my sleep and I groan in protest. My eyelids slowly peel itself open and I find Chase on top of me, naked!

"AHHHHH! AHHHHH! No, no, no! Go away!" My voice blasts from the room outside the room and the window and I hear the flapping of wings outside the window.

"Woah, sorry." Chase looks taken aback, his cheeky grin turns into a sexy, straight, thin line.

What am I saying?!

A nasty smirk appears on Chase's face and my heart thuds at a speed of ten thousand miles per second. That's not exactly possible but this man in front of me is somehow making this possible.

How? Why!

I really have to find a way to hide my thoughts from him.

'You need not hide any secrets from me baby, we are mates after all.' He looks at me but his mouth does not move as he speaks.

"I need my privacy." I speak out loud. I'm a witch, I'm a witch, I'm a witch. I will not act like a wolf, I will act as a witch does. I repeat it over and over in my head until Chase is forced to leave.

How did everything happened? How did my life take such a drastic turn? How am I so unlucky? Mate of a wolf? Whatever the cost, I must reject him, but again, it would be of no point if he doesn't reject me too. Still, I must try.

Somehow, even the thought of rejection sends a pang of pain down my chest, my heart. It hurts to try feeling how it would feel if I—

A shot of pain suddenly hits me and it shocked me. My head feels like there is someone hammering it from the inside, and my stomach churns with the feeling that someone is stabbing it profusely. I gasp and my breathing comes out in heaps. Finally, I find my voice and scream in agony.

Guards hurry in and they find me grasping at my hair, yanking it with all my might. I hear an extremely loud voice in my head yelling for Chase, the voice of the Beta. It's a call that can be heard by whoever's in the building. There is a loud thudding of feet and the last thing I see is Chase's pale face crumpling as his eyes desperately search for mine, but my eyeballs roll back and all I see is black.

Now blue.

Now a rainbow, no. The whole place is filled with rainbow colors.

Then I see a figure, she has an eery resemblance to me but her cloak is completely white. No one in the witch empire is allowed to wear pure white, only the double bred leaders are allowed to wear it. Triple bred usually don't live so... woah. The sight of her felt so heavenly.

"Am I dead?" I frown. I have so much to live for, I can't die.

As if reading my thoughts, the pretty woman says, "You still have much to live for, this is but a side effect of your other two breeds which are about to show. Now would be your wolf wanting to escape your body. Before spring, you will have shifted. After spring, when you turn eighteen, your vampire will surface."

"But... how?"

"That is for you to figure out, my dear. For now, he needs you." She nods solemnly but calmly. A million questions flood into my head but I blurt a few.

"He, who? What if I don't wanna be a wolf and a vampire? Who are you?" My face transforms into a look of a lost kid. She fades and I feel myself fading, then falling. My arms frail around me in reflex and my lungs throws out all of its air into a scream.

A familiar voice shouts for me, the same honey scent fills my nostrils and I can finally breathe. "Chase?" I ask in uncertainty.

"Yeah, hey baby." He replies me with my eyes closed.

"Stop calling me that." I groan and I hear him chuckle.

"Nu uh." He continues laughing at my desperation. My eyes slowly flips open and I adjust to the brightness of the room. My eyes working like a camera as my vision blurs into focus at Chase's pretty face.

I really have to stop making comments as such. "Where am I at?" I sit up and look around me. Only he is in the room with me.

"Same place. You slept for five days straight baby." He tells me and I gape. It only felt like five minutes!

"You're kidding right? My parents! They'll be so worried! They'll... they'll..." Hot tears spring from my eyes and I sob into the blanket. His hand moves behind me to pull me into his embrace and I breathe in the scent coming from him.

"They'll nothing. They can't come unless your dad didn't completely neglect his wolf and manages to pass our borders."

"What?" I push him forcefully away from me and he looked shock for a while but quickly recovers into his normal, expressionless, Alpha face.

"Your father is a traitor to the wolf empire. He left the empire for a reeking vampire-witch." He refers to my family in a disgusted tone. My mother. How dare he talk about my mother that way!

I fume, "I don't care if you're my mate or whatever shit, but if you don't respect my parents, it is equivalent to not respecting me! So, leave this room!"

"Wha—" He starts.

I interrupt, "Get out!" When he doesn't move I call out, "Guards!"

His eyes are filled with amusement, but he dismisses the guards who appears almost immediately with a flick of his wrist. He smirks and laughter fills his voice, "Don't you forget, baby, I'm the alpha here."

I want to cry again, he is a literal bully! But I save my tears, he's not worth crying for.

"Our pack doctor says you're starting to shift. Incredible, did you know?" He gives me a wide grin and I roll my eyes. "That means you're at least three years younger than me." He adds.

"You're twenty?" My eyes widen and my jaw drops. My mind goes blank and I forget everything

"Almost twenty one baby. When summer hits I'll be full grown." He gives me a proud smile and I almost slap him. No! This wolf can... can... rep— never mind!

"I would love the idea of marking you." Chase hears my thoughts and he smirks as he speaks without our mate bond.

No! Crazy badass wolf!

Chase makes a whimpering sound and I almost reach my arms out to strangle him, but my mind does not pass the message to me arms. They remain lifeless by my side and I stare at the werewolf in front of me. My mate. For life.

I am stuck with you.

I am stuck in the one place I shouldn't be.

Witches used to have the most power, we would use our magic spells as our advantage. Hundred years ago, witches and wizards started discovering bad magic and used it against everyone. They sided the rogues who calls themselves HUmans. Highly, underpopulated, man.

They soon grew stronger and stronger because even the slightest bit of dark magic can be fatally powerful, but draining. With their population increasing, they had no problem overtaking tribes.

Then, our village elders found out and banned the performance of dark magic. Whoever attempted to teach dark magic, perform, or even speak of it will have their powers taken away. There was a short war that followed after, started by people who opposed the new law. Eventually, our village leader, a triple bred, sacrificed her life to demolish all dark magic with a single spell. Mum said that I'm like her ancestor, but Mum had never met her before.

From then on, there was peace within the barriers and all is well. This, this kidnapping of a child from another empire could arouse danger to the wolf empire, and the worst part is that Chase is not aware of what I am. A beast. A beast that hasn't been unleashed yet.

A voice pushes its way into my thoughts and I look over to find the Beta standing at the doorway, a nervous smile planted on his lips. "What's wrong?" I hear Chase ask.

"Your father requests your presence at the tribe leader's house." According to what I've heard, this Beta's name is Blake. The delta is Drake.

The beta is in charge of the protection of the leaders and the safety of the tribe, while the delta is in charge of the wellfare of the tribe, like health and wealth.

My thoughts blurred and I am back to the present, where Beta Blake walks out of the room. Chase turns to be and frown and I return him one. "What?" I shrug.

"You're giving me the explantion later." He goes back to the stern, concerned look as he speaks in a low voice. I look at him with confusion and my eyebrows furrow. I shake my head and blurt, "What?"

"Your mind shut me out all of a sudden. It was so dark, quiet, but I know you were deep in thought because you were completely gone from this room." He explains and my jaw drops. The more important a piece of information, the more my mind tunes out of the world. I wasn't really talking about or to him, could that have been the reason why he couldn't hear my thoughts? Because the information is confidential?

"That is classified." I tell him and turn away from him before adding, "You should probably leave, the tribe leaders requires your presence."

After a while, he is still silent and I turn back to him just as he replies me with a, "No." He looks into my eyes, a look of determination, "You're coming with me." I don't ask why, I'd rather people know he's storing someone that isn't supposed to be here than hide me.

'That's the point.' Chase says through a mind link and I yell in exaggeration as he takes my hand and drags me out of the room.
