10 Chapter 3: A Forgotten Past and A New Future [Part 2]

"Eos!" I heard someone call my name, the sound of wet running footsteps making me grumble from the interruption of my sleep and the painful feeling of my body aching.

"Eos! Please be alright!" The voice said as I soon felt two hands grip my shoulders and begin to shake me gently.

"W-What is it...?" I grumbled, the feeling of being shaken annoying me to no end as I begrudgingly opened my eyes to look at a brown-skinned girl.

Christ...she was tall! The girl had to at least be 6'3! She had extremely long raven black hair, the length almost reaching her calves but nonetheless tidy as it was done into a braid while some loose strands covered her eyes. A curvy but fit figure and flawless skin. She was beautiful but...who exactly is she?

"T-Thank goodness...you should really learn to stop running out on the football field." The girl said with a relieved sigh as she helped me up, her surprising strength not matching her somewhat curvy figure.

"Football field?" I said with an awkward chuckle.

"There aren't any football fields in this world..."

The girl went silent, though she didn't say anything. I could tell that she was confused.

"Balerion? Fantasy? Ringing any bells?"

She continued to keep silent but eventually let out a sigh and then smiled lightly.

"You are such a jokester my friend, but come on, it's time to go to lunch." She said, taking ahold of my hand before she led me inside the school.

After me and the girl had finished changing out of our clothes, the constant darting glances she gave me making me raise a brow and question her reasons for helping me, she had finally led me to the cafeteria.

'What's going on with these guys?' I thought with a narrowed look, the entire room freezing in time as everyone gave us a hateful glare while they mumbled the words 'Normal and Loner'.

"Look at them...a couple of trash-bag Normals."

"Should pay em' a little visit, been a while since I've used a Bebe gun on some rats.

Their words...they were hateful, frightening and some even murderous! The comments they made about me and the girl made my blood freeze and my heart stop momentarily but, for some odd reason, I found it strangely familiar and kept on walking.

"They sure do hate us eh?" I chuckled lightly as I sat down across from the girl.

"Yes." She said quietly.

"B-But it's nothing new, Populars rule the school while the Normals and Loners are forced to suffer their extreme bullying." She said, taking out a sandwich from her backpack.

The heck? This entire place sounds like a tyrannical kingdom rather than a school. Still, this was all so strangely familiar...but, I don't know why.

"What about the staff? Don't they do anything?"

"They rarely help...they're only good for stopping fights, teaching us and serving our food." The girl sighed.

"B-But, I believe it will stop someday, we are getting a new principal soon after all." She said, my eyes narrowing in disgust at the school's system.

Suddenly, just before the girl was about to put the sandwich in her mouth, a series of mocking pig noises had begun to erupt from a group of nearby girls, their mocks causing the girl to start to sniffle and put the sandwich down.

'Oh my god...' I thought with a gasp. As tears began to roll down from the girl's covered eyes, that's when it remembered where I was and who I was with.

No longer was I in the beautiful fields of Balerion I had been reincarnated in nor in the safety and friendliness of the goblin village.

I was in a hell known as Northern Filed High-school, the very school that made me dread leaving my house, the school where you were constantly looking behind your back in fear of being kicked down or having things thrown at you! This school was hell and I had so many opportunities to leave it for schools that were far better but...I stayed, all in an effort to stick close to my best and only friend: Sayri. A girl with straight A's, was involved with the Chess club and Singing club and was the strongest girl I knew! She could've rivaled the people in the wrestling team for all I cared!

The Populars should've never bullied her, it was a mystery to every other Normal and Loner as to why the Populars didn't accept her the second she got into the school but...rumors say it was because she was possibly a lesbian.

"...D-Do you want to get out of h-here? I-I do..." Sayri said to me, the sound of her quivering voice and the sight of tears falling down her face like a waterfall making my blood boil as I shook my head vigorously.

No, no! I could no longer sit here and let people bully me or my friends any longer. Someone had to stand up to these arrogant bastards and...if no one else was going to do it then I was.

"I've stood on the sidelines for too long Sayri," I said, grabbing her sandwich.

"Someone has to stand up to them." I stared one of the girls straight in the eye and threw the sandwich at her, my heart thrumming against my chest.

"The only pigs I see here are y'all! Go oink at someone else!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, the eyes of the cafeteria directed on me and the girl.

"How dare you?!" The Popular girl screamed, her fiery red hair matching well with her red face as she stormed over to me.

"A Normal...talking back to one of us? Know your place trash!" She continued to scream, her face so close that I could feel her huffing breath.

"I don't got no specific place nor am I a 'Normal'!" I shouted back.

"That's just some stupid 'title' you bastards made up to feel like your all useful!"

As we both went silent and stared each other down, neither of us willing to embarrass ourselves by backing away, I had suddenly felt a hand go across my cheek as a nasty sting was left behind in its wake.

"Do something Normal!" She said again as she slapped me once more.

"C' mon now! You had enough backbone to talk back..." She said before she slapped me again and took hold of my chin, her green eyes like poison as I was forced to look at her.

She wanted me to do something...to bring myself down to her level and show my nasty side, my parents have always told me to never give into the temptation of fighting no matter how many times someone will tempt you but...I had to. I was fine with them pushing me around, their insults rolled off of my like water but Sayri? Any more of their bullying and I knew it would result in disaster, I had to stand up for my only friend and that time to stand up and fight was today.

"Fine." I simply said as my fist collided into her face, the satisfaction I felt as I had finally hit a Popular making me want to replay this exact moment for the rest of my life.

Of course, though, it hadn't lasted long though, all because of the involvement of a teacher. I wasn't too afraid though, the faculty here at the school never did too much to punish us, they merely told us to never do it again, probably sent us to the nurse's office and then we were back in class!

Sadly though, that's the norm around these parts, a strict unnecessary student hierarchy and a system of teachers and staff who could care less about the ones who suffer or the ones who are causing the suffering.

"Miss Theodoric, please take a seat." My Math teacher said immediately as I walked into the room and towards my seat, no one saying anything thankfully as it was mostly a room filled with Loners.

"You alright Sayri?" I asked as soon as I sat down, her cheeks darkening immediately as she shook her head and looked up from her class notes.

"...You shouldn't have stood up for me my friend." She whispered.

"The Populars will only attack you more after today, their planning to bring in Th-T"

"Thorn?" I finished for her with a snort, her hands balling into a fist.

"How could you laugh about this...? There's no telling when Thorn will come for you!"

"Thorn's nothin' but a darn halfwit, he don't stand a chance against someone who uses their head," I grinned before tapping the side of my side lightly, Sayri continuing to shake her head slowly.

"Besides...I don't regret nothin' I did it in order to protect my friend and that's all that matters." I said, Sayri letting out a sigh before she finally smiled lightly.

"Oh Eos, I really do wish that I had your strength of character at times." She sighed, my cheeks warming up slightly in embarrassment as I scoffed.

"No, you don't-"

"Yes, I do! There are so many days when I get tired of being saved, I wish- I wish I could help myself..." Sayri sniffled, her words making me chuckle before I gave her a strong pat on the back.

"Then become strong! Wishin' will do you no good if you don't get out there and do it." Her cheeks darkened once again as she nodded her head slowly.

"T-Then...promise me this Eos," Sayri whispered, her shy smile suddenly turning into one of her rare teeth-showing grins as her cheeks continued to darken.

"You must be there to watch me grow...you're one of the few people in my life that care! I want you to be proud of who I become." She said, my vision starting to get blurry as I nodded my head tiredly.

"I swear on my life Sayri, in no time, you'll be the bravest person in the world!" I laughed, Sayri nodding her head slowly before I blacked out, her grin still present on her face.
