A Walk Back To The Dorms

*Cursing warning and violence!*

It was a spring evening, and Emily was going back to the dormitory. "Ugh...It's so late." She sighed as she arrived at the bus stop. "Of course I miss the bus. Now I have to walk." She began to walk in her heeled boots. Her purse swings on her body and her hair hung down a mess. While walking, she decides to plug in her headphones and listen to music, as she would if she were on the bus. She turned it up all the way to drown out her thoughts and annoyance. Thirty minutes pass, and she hasn't arrived yet. How long does this take?? she thought. A sudden chill went down her spine. She turned around, tensed. Oh. No one is there. She sighed relieved, turned back around, and continued walking. Only five minutes later did pain strike her. She turned around immediately and was greeted by a strange figure. She didn't have time to observe the figure and was immediately attacked again. "Ahhh!" This time she ran. Of course, it followed her. "Agh!" She clung to her side. Was I stabbed..?! Not only that, but I'm bleeding on both sides. I might die from blood loss...At least it's not deep. I need to find help. She turned a corner, fumbling with her phone. She tapped the emergency call button on the lock screen and dialed 911. "911 what's your eme-" "Help! I-I'm being chased and have been stabbed twice!" "Okay mam' could you tell me where you are?" Emily turned to look for any street signs. She found one. "Uhm...Yes. I'm on Lincoln Holmes Ave." There wasn't a response. "H-hello..? Ms. Operator?" She pulled the phone away from her ear and leaned against a wall in an alley. "You've got to be kidding me..." The phone died. I should've never used my phone to listen to music...Then... "Hey," A raspy voice spoke. Emily went pale. Her head turned hesitantly. "Why'd you stop running? Are you trying to lose?" The knife slammed against the wall next to Emily's face, and their hand caresses her cheek. Their fingers become intertwined with loose strands of her hair. What is his deal...?! Emily couldn't hide her fear or her disgust. "Why are you doing this?" She asked out of breath. The figure stands still for a moment. Emily's hair is still held between their grasp. It was gentle but continuously becoming firm but then becoming gentle as if resisting to take a cookie from the jar. They leaned their face closer to her ear, tracing her face with their knife. They mutter in their broken raspy voice, "Because it's fun to see you squirm like this." "What..?!" Who is this guy?! Ugh! I need to escape before it's too late. "But if you're just gonna give up..." Huh..? The person lowered their head. "I guess I'll just kill you right here! Right now!" They rose their knife to stab Emily in her shoulder, but she moves to run away. Sadly, her hair was still in their grasp. She felt pain. "Ahh!" she cried out. She automatically went to grab where it hurt when she was stabbed again. This time in between her index and middle finger. The knife went through completely and managed to poke her head. Luckily for her, it only left a scratch. The pain shot through her body. She let out another bloody scream. The area was secluded but still had a few people wandering the streets or a 24-hour 7-Eleven nearby. The person slammed their hand to her face. "Listen here bitch, if you don't shut up, I'll cut open your neck and leave you to decay for the birds and rats to feast on. So how about you be a good girl and shut the fuck up?" Emily's breath shook along with her body. She lowered her hands. "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU CREEP!" Emily muffled through the hand covering her mouth. She bit down on the person's hand as hard as she could. "ARRRRHHHHGHHGHGHGHH!" The person screamed out in pain. The shock caused them to let go of her hair and their knife. "YOU BITCH!" A woman..? Whatever! No time to think! I have to get out of here! She quickly ran down the alley to find there was a dead end. "W-what..?" "You know," Emily didn't even bother turning around. "Tch. That really fucking hurt you bitch." N-no... "But it seems you've met your end. There's no escape and you'll bleed out soon. No one's coming for you. You're done for! So just accept your fate and DIE!" She's right...I feel so lightheaded...But..."I refuse to die." she muttered under her breath. "Those'll be your last words!" Emily panted and began to run towards the person who threatened her life. They have their knife ready to be stabbed Emily's back. She speeds up as much as she could and manages to shove them down with her body. "What?!" they yelled as they fell. "I won't let you get away that easily!" They grab onto her ankle. "Let. Me. GO!" She pulls her foot but does not succeed in escaping. She ends up falling on her stomach. "Let's get rid of those legs so you can't escape." Emily screamed out for help as she kicked avidly. "This'll hurt even more if you don't keep still." "Get away from me!" She managed to kick her pursuer in the face. Their head went back which caused the hat and hoodie they wore to come off. Emily gasped. It was a woman. That's all that Emily could get in those 3 seconds. "You should've run you bitch!" "Aaah!" Emily began to run until she found an unlocked building in an abandoned area. She caught her breath as she wandered around. This seems like a storage room...Or something like that. A rattling could be heard from the outside. I need a place to hide, a weapon, or an escape. I don't have much time so I'll just hide. Ugh...It's too dark to see anything. The only thing illuminating light is the glass roof. Whilst walking, Emily bumps into something cold, dusty, and hard. "Tch! That hurt..." It was a medium-length pipe in a stack of more pipes. A weapon..! The door breaks down and the woman bursts through. "Why are you doing this to me..?!" "I really hate repeating myself, Emily," "How do you know my name...?" The woman steps forwards slowly but surely. "You know...You really did hurt my face. I even got all pretty just for you. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep for a week. But it was all worth it!" The woman grew closer to Emily. "S-stay back! I'm warning you!" Emily grasped onto the pipe to stop her shaking. "You wanna know why?" The woman asked as she was in Emily's face. "Because I finally get to kill worthless trash like you." The woman spoke in a flat, dead voice. "Now do the world a favor and die."

As the sirens wailed around the hospital building, the police block the scene and bystanders gather around to see what's happening, they would soon find out on Channel 5 News. "Emily Willow, a 20-year-old college student, falls to her death off of Los Angeles 24/7 ER Hospital roof. It's been told that she suffered from Schizophrenia. She also suffered from depression. We've been informed that this wasn't the first time she's made an attempt at ending her life. One of the students from her university called the ambulance when Emily was found unconsious with a pill bottle by her side. That's all we could get from the hospital and police. The employees of the hospital state that she was wandering the halls but didn't seem to be putting herself in danger. They had her on prescribed medication that helps control her depression and schizophrenia. They guess she didn't take her pills that day. In other news, Will Ronald Duckins be impeached, in this year's election? Here are the votes." Her death was already forgotten in 24 hours. No one cared about the hospital's neglectfulness. Nobody cared that Emily was troubled. Nobody cared for her demons that haunted her that night. Because soon the next thing would come along to distract people from their loathsome ways, because they never knew her, so they don't need to care.

She's irrelevant.
