Hi, I am Dipanwita Roy Diya.Dipanwita means possessor of lights.My dad give this name to me cause I was born at the day of diwali.Fitst let me tell you guys what diwali is? It’s a hindu festival with lights,held in the October to November. It is a holy day in hindu religion.I told you all this cause whenever I tell my name to other they asked this this two question always. What is the meaning of my name and why this name? So before guys ask I thought I myself let you guys know.

I am an Indian and I proud to be one.I was born in Kolkata and I spend my 16 years of life there.But after my parents death I shift in Delhi with my elder sister and it’s been 7 years I am here and never went Kolkata for once. First it was difficult for me to adapt here but after sometime everything become normal and Delhi become my second home. But in my heart I still miss Kolkata.I miss our old home,I miss our family memories which I left in Kolkata, I miss my old friends, mainly I miss everything about Kolkata.

Once I also have a beautiful family but a tragedy take everything from me and make me and my sister orphan in over night. My father was a lawyer and my mother was a house wife.My elder sister is 10 years older then me.Her name is Dipti Roy Diti.In a plane crash we lost our parents. That time everything was a mess in our life but my sister didn't give up.She fight for us and some how she managed a job in a law farm as she already graduated from a law school and she was a very bright student.But that law farm was in Delhi so we both shift in Delhi that time.

After that my sister worked very hard to give me a good life.She forget about herself completely until one day someone come to our apartment with his family and asked for my sister's hand from me for marriage.That man was my sister's boss and he said he love my sister for 2 years and when he proposed her she said that she can't marry him.When he asked the reason she refused to tell me.But he couldn't stop loving my sister and he doesn't want to think his life with her.So today he come here with his family to asked her hand from me as I am her only family now and he consider me as my sister's guardian.

His family was also very good. They come from a very well known family as his full family is well known in the city. Just the name of Malhotra everyone can identify who they are .Maximum members of their family are lawyer.They run their own law farm and it is well known. My sister also doing a very good job at their law farm.

I take some time from them to think about their proposal and then I will told them what my decision is.I told them that despite seeing my sister's angry face.After that I convinced my sister for this marriage and in the end she got married. My brother-in-law's name is Abir Malhotra and this man didn't fail me.He is an ideal husband and my sister is very happy with him.It's already been 5 years of their marriage but still they look like they are in their honeymoon period specially my brother-in-law. His love for my sister is unconditional.

After their marriage my brother-in-law and his family wanted to take me with them so that I can live with them.And my sister also wanted this but I refused them by saying that I am going to join my university and I want to stay in university hall and want to focus on my study.First they didn't agreed but in the end they agreed but in the condition that I have to spend my all vacation with them and I happily agreed with this.

My main reason to not want to live in my sister's in-law's house was I didn't want to become an obstacle in their marriage life. Although they never consider me as a burden but still I want to give then the space. I want my sister's happiness and for that I can do anything.

Oh I forget to tell you about my university life.This five years is the best time of my life.I make many friends here. And my university's teachers and seniors are very friendly. When we first join the university seniors become the pain in our ass but after someday they treated us like their own brother & sister.

Me, Nitu & Akash we three are inseparable. We become best friends and the whole university know about our friendship. All are calls us DNA.We make this group name of ours by using our names first initial as D for Diya,N for Nitu,A for Akash and ultimately we become famous the university as DNA.

Today is the biggest day of my life.Today I my convocation day and from today I will become a lawyer like my dad and my sister. I want to become a criminal lawyer like my dad and I want be a good lawyer like him. And this is the first step I am taking toward my dream.

I am now waiting in the main gate of the university for my sister & brother-in-law. They said they will be there when I will receive my certificate but they didn't come yet and the programme will start soon.My friends are calling me continuously and I am looking at outside the gate but they didn't come.Did they miss my convocation?

Being dishearten I turn around and just about to walk toward the auditorium that I heard the voice of that person for whom I was waiting.

"Diya,where are you going without me?" Diti said.

I turn around and I saw my sister standing there with my brother-in-law and his whole family. I was surprised to see all of them together here.I didn't excepting them here today.Seeing all of them I become emotional and broke out in tears.My sister run to me and took me in her embrace and both of us are crying our heart out.

It's been 4 years I didn't went back to Malhotra mansion.After my first year I got a vacation and that time I happily went to meet with my sister in Malhotra mansion as I promised them before.But something happened when I was there and after that I never go back there. I spend all my vacations here in Mumbai with the excuse of my study pressure. My sister and brother-in-law used to come here to met with me but for last one year they couldn't able to come as both of them went to America for my sister's treatment and they just come back one week before and here they are infront of me.What happened in Malhotra mansion I will tell you some other day cause I don't want to spoil my mood today by remembering all this past things.

When me and my sister are flooding whole Mumbai with our tears my brother-in-law come and hugged both of us in this protective embrace and said,"You two please stop this now.Let's go, programme will start soon.You can do this later."

We both are nodded and stop crying. Then I meet with my sister's in-laws and then we went inside the auditorium. When I was going inside the auditorium I feel someone glance on me but didn't find anyone there. So I walk inside. All of them sit in the place which are arranged for students family and then I joined with my friends.Now I am hell nervous.
