Prologue 1

On a cold night in the middle of autumn, the full moon shines a bright shade of red in the dark sky devoid of any stars. It's a quiet night, only the occasional cry of an owl or other creatures of the night can be heard echoeing throughout the forest amidst the howling of the wind.

Suddenly, a scream and a crying voice can be heard from a hunter's cabin in the middle of the dark forest.

"Shit", someone cursed and rushed forward through the foliage and to the cabin.

It was a tall man, easily surpassing 2 meters and looked like he was a warrior. Short, black, military-cut hair, a scarred face with wide-rimmed glasses and a toned body. And yet, he was dressed in a priestly gown that could not contain his well-shaped muscles and was armed to the teeth and looked prepared to fend of an army if he must.

He ran toward the cabin's door, kicked it open, and rushed inside, just in time to see the hand of his target rip through a man's ribcage while he sputtered blood from his mouth.

He frowned and swiftly scanned the room for other possible dangers lurking. He saw a womanin a corner of the room, desperately holding a child and looking horrified as the man, presumably her husband, fell to the ground in his own blood. He continued to desperately suck in air with a rasping sound until his eyes turned dull and gazed at nothingness.

With the sound of the kicked open door, he instantly threw any idea of a sneak attack out of the window and immediately the assailants eyes fell upon him. Eyes with dull, crimson irises. Devoid of any reason or intelligence. Only bloodlust and the urge to slaughter remained.

'Must've been the Blood Moon that caused this. Probably a lower class one.', the priest thought to himself. He frowned. "Damn vampire hellspawn", he cursed under his breath and took out a knife of silver and a wooden stake from his back.

"Well, better finish this job or the bishop will be on my case again... ", he muttered under his breath and prepared to engage the creature of the night.
