15 So What Do You Want Me To Do?

Everly vigorously fluttered her eyes, her jaw dropping in disbelief.

"I just came back from the hospital! Was I supposed to remember—"

"You just spoke more than ten words." A frown settled on Valerio's forehead, and now very annoyed, Everly tightly balled her hands into a fist.

"I will brew your tea now." She gave him a painful smile and turned to leave, but she landed on the floor face flat with a heavy thud before she could reach the door.

She quickly groaned in pain and grabbed her ankle, which had twisted.

Valerio stared at her with disbelief in his eyes and slightly shook his head.

"Tell me something, Everly. How in the world did you get your license?" He inquired.

"You-" She bit her bottom lip to prevent herself from losing her cool.

She stood up from the floor and adjusted her clothing. "I got my license fair and square." She replied.

"I see. That's quite shocking. Those who gave you that license must be blind. I would certainly not give you a license. Not with this clumsiness of yours and that thing inside your head that you call a brain."

He clicked his tongue, and finally snapped, Everly breathed heavily.

"Well, unlike a grumpy man like you, my patients always tend to like me a lot and find me quite entertaining. It can't be your words against theirs." She smiled haughtily.

An amused expression ensued on Valerio's face, and he folded his arms.

"Well, I am certainly not one of them, as I do not like you one bit, nor do I find you entertaining. If I have to say anything, I will say that it's your clumsiness that entertains them. Also, you're right, I am a very grumpy person."

He retaliated, and Everly's chest rose and fell in annoyance.

"I shall go brew your tea now, sir!" She said it with gritted teeth and stormed out of the room.

She walked downstairs and strolled towards the kitchen with a cranky look on her face.

Delacy, who had sighted her, narrowed her eyes in curiosity.

"Everly…" She stepped into the kitchen.

"Is everything okay with you?" She inquired.

Everly, who had grabbed the brewing kettle, turned around to look at her.

"Do I not look okay?" She questioned and Delacy shook her head at her.

"No…you don't." She replied.

"Well, that's because a certain terrible man annoyed the living hell out of me." She explained with a painful smile on her face, and immediately knowing that it concerned Valerio, Delacy darted her eyes around.

"Um… I think I forgot something, so I shall go now." She smiled apologetically at her, and before Everly could say a word, she dashed out of the kitchen.

A glint of disdain flashed in her eyes, and she proceeded to brew the tea.

It took her a few minutes before she was done.

She poured it into Valerio's favorite tea cup and stirred it with a little spoon, then took it upstairs to him.

She knocked and stepped in once he gave his permission.

She walked towards him and carefully handed the cup of green tea to him.

"Here you go."

Valerio received it from her, and clearly not minding the fact that it was still hot, he took a sip.

His eyes abruptly began to twitch furiously, and Everly watched as his whole face turned red in maybe agitation or something else.

"I have never seen someone so terrible at everything like you! You can't even brew my tea properly. It tastes so horrible, I think I might choke to death."

His eyes flickered in aggravation, and he dropped the cup back on the table.

He stood up from the couch and grabbed her by the hand before she could say anything.

"Follow me!"

He dragged her downstairs, towards the kitchen.

Everly furiously blinked her eyes, clueless about what he was about to do.

"I will ignore the fact that you messed up my tea and show you how it's properly brewed." He turned to her and said.

Everly's jaw fell, and she gazed at him in a bit of surprise.

"What more could I expect?" She complained under her breath, and Valerio glared at her.

"So what do you want me to do?" She asked.

"Grab the kettle." He ordered her, and wanting to see where this would lead, Everly obediently grabbed the kettle.

She turned the gas on and boiled water.

"Warm up the teacup." He ordered, and, a bit confused for a moment, Everly furrowed her brows at him.

"Do what now?"

"You! Just put hot water into the teacup and rinse it!" He scowled.

Everly did just as he said, and he had her grab some green tea leaves.

She put them into the tea cup and added hot water per his order.

They waited for a few awkward minutes before he had her pour the liquid into his tea cup.

"Give it to me."

She handed it over to him, and he took a sip.

"Now that's better." He acknowledged, and Everly, who couldn't believe herself, flapped her eyes at him.

"Are you serious?" She questioned.

"What?"

"What you just did is the Chinese way. I did mine the normal way I have been taught, and you called it terrible! Are you kidding me?!"
