1 Chapter 1

Chapter I

I walked the hot streets of Lewisville. It was summer, and there is hellish heat. I don't know how I can bear this. I wish I could manage like those independent people, which I am not because I continue living here with my parents, my pathetic life every day. I still think I'm still doing here. I should travel, work, do anything but boring here walking home to do nothing.

Once I see that white house, and my dad's car I run inside so that the cold covers me. I am very sweaty, I feel the beads of sweat running down my forehead. Trying to fan my face with the first paper I see on the table, I take off my shoes and go upstairs to my room to take a nap.

My mom opened the door after putting my face on the pillow.

-Hello Zo- my mom greeted very happy. I growl greeting her back.

I try to close my eyes but an insufferable sound coming from the kitchen does not let me continue sleeping. So I opened my eyes, got up and made my way to the kitchen. I smell the food and ran in to the kitchen. A surprise my dad was cooking dinner.

-Hello little- my dad greeted.

-Why so much love? and also why are you making dinner? You always do it when you have news.- I said curious.

-Honey, we will be visiting your grandfather- his father released enthusiastically.

-What? - I answered with surprise. It has been 10 years since I saw him and at this moment they decide to visit him. Great, well anyway I was going to spend the summer locked up reading.

-Your mom and I decided it would be a good time to visit your grandfather, you haven't seen him for a long time- he says hugging my mother from behind.- Pack your bags, we are leaving tomorrow and without saying a word- he said

He finishes preparing dinner, serves us and we prepared to eat. My mom and dad were sharing anecdotes about their work and everything they did during the day while I ate in silence I was lost in my thoughts. When we finished eating I went to my room to prepare my things for the visit with my grandfather.

I arranged my suitcase, put everything necessary for our little visit to my grandfather's house. When I'm satisfied with everything, I'm going to take a shower and then put on my pajamas.

I put my head on my pillow. I feel a little guilty, I hadn't even flinched to know anything about my paternal grandfather and now we were going to go to his house. I feel sorry for myself, that old man who painted and played hide and seek with me. A strange memory came to my mind, her house and the wooden stairs gnashing under my little girl's feet with someone holding my hand while smiling at me, it was something magical, the creature was beautiful and had wings that were super soft. .. But what?! I woke up quickly with sweat running down my forehead. I'm hallucinating, I see the time on the clock next to my bed, it's 4:00 am. I put my face back on the pillow and close my eyes waiting for him to sleep.

There were many questions that hung around his head that night, why? They would have the need to go after all these years, their eyes began to close little by little and I ignore their thoughts and let themselves be carried by the morpheus arms and my comfortable pillow.

I heard an annoying voice that was intended to wake me up from my beautiful dream.

"Baby get up time to go," I heard my mom.

- NO, let me sleep longer, grandpa can wait - I snapped.

"Move your butt to the bathroom and we're leaving, I'll see you downstairs in 20 minutes" and he left.

I brush slowly and prepare my bath with cold water, I have to get rid of this dream somehow, change and go down to breakfast. I found my father reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee.

-Hi dad how are you?-

-Well, excited to travel and you? -

-Nah, I feel asleep- I said yawning- How many hours are we going to be on that plane? -

-Stop asking and have breakfast first, grandpa waits- he said to re state you what he was doing.

After breakfast we got in the car and started our journey to the airport. We got to the boarding room and gave our plane tickets to the lady who was in the cabin collecting the tickets. I had never traveled by plane. As we approached the plane, my legs began to tremble. I'm going to die on this plane, I shouldn't have seen air emergencies all these years. Right now I am hating tv.

"Passengers fasten your seat belts, we are going to take off" said the air hostess showing us how to fasten them

I go with my eyes closing them, praying for what is in heaven to protect me. Virgin of Guadalupe protect me from all evil and that this plane does not fall, and suddenly I felt a breeze fanning my face believing that it was the Virgin responding to me when I saw that it was my mother blowing me in the face to pay attention to her.

-It's serious, because they put me in situations if I said complaining, I had a horrendous desire to vomit- I said with fatigue- don't put me in these situations anymore- I said thinking about how good it would be to go overland. From one moment to the next I felt everything dark. Oh, I had fallen asleep and we had already landed.

It took us about two hours to get there, I was distracted looking out the window of our car that we rented when we got passing cars. We entered a picturesque town, this town where there was a lot of vegetation, people looked at us curious to know who the new visitors were. We park in a white house, a little big, to live in such a town. There we were greeted by a man of a little advanced age, I estimate him about seventy, blue eyes like mine and an impeccable smile.

-Hello father- my dad greeted him with enthusiasm

-Hello grandpa- and I hug him, this was a different and emotional hug. A tear came out and I clung to his jacket

-How much have you grown my girl- he said with a sweet voice that made me smile- Come in, make yourselves comfortable, you are at home, I already show you the rooms - we entered the house and he was showing us the places, he stopped at a light brown wooden door and pointed the interior- This is yours- he said left the hall to go to the kitchen.

I entered the room, it was white with touches of turquoise, my gaze went all over this place and I stopped at a library where I had a variety of books and on one side was the bed with a nightstand.

I started to settle down and put the suitcase in its place they are going to make three weeks of absolute fun with these books, I stopped to see each of the books and saw a black book with golden letters that caught my attention was very beautiful and bright. I took it, put it on the table and I started to put on pajamas to read it, but before I took the book, Mama screamed.

-Dinner time!-

I walked to the kitchen quickly where Mom was serving dinner and Dad was chatting with my grandfather about our lives while we were not with him.

-Hello family! - I exclaimed and everyone answered me with a smile. I ate peacefully, listening to my grandfather's jokes, making everyone laugh at the table. I don't know how I could be such a bad granddaughter and not call or write it, I felt really bad about it. After dinner, I went to the room and quickly took the book from where I was and prepared to read it to satisfy my curiosity. I stroked the spine of the book, I saw that its name was in italics but it had no author, it seemed strange to me and I opened it ...

"Don't open it"

That made me more curious and I started to read until my conscience spoke.

-Why do you read it? - My conscience shouted- Are you moron? There is a warning there and it tells you very clearly, so keep reading

I should listen to my conscience but I don't give a damn

"There are beings who possess supernatural strength, have special abilities that can only be provided by their mystical wings. These wings were made and created by one of the maximum gods of Olympus"

-Great, I found a fantasy book. I love this kind of books

"They are called Angels"

"Not all are good, there are also bad"

-Demons? - My conscience spoke again

"The demons"

"There is another world after humans, a world never discovered by any human"

"It cannot be discovered by any human, they have a weakness which is the Gamosh"

I closed the book automatically when I feel my eyes close alone, I continue reading in the morning and I let myself go with my comfortable pillow.

"Did I wake up? I was just wondering I saw a strange creature approaching, I couldn't see his face because there was a light that prevented me, I could only appreciate his beautiful white wings that fluttered with force.

-Zoey, Zoey, Zoey- he whispered - You got into trouble little Zoey- he said with a devilish smile

- But what the hell did I- I yelled at him

- Little Zoey- spoke more clearly- you should have followed the warning- she started to laugh.

As I fell into a dark bottomless hole "

I woke up startled, all sweaty and breathing with great difficulty. What did that mean? I had to find out.
