There was a safe house prepared for us, but it was on the other side of the small town, so we had to walk through the town and try not to draw attention to ourselves. That may sound easy for Natalia and Wanda because they were spies.

However, it might be more challenging because I show my face a lot when I do my missions. Even though this place doesn't have many people in it, someone could potentially recognize me, and that would be very bad.

Once we got to the safe house, I felt much better and practically ran inside after Natalia unlocked the door. I sensed something was wrong but was too nervous to care. Inside the safe house, it seemed somewhat normal. I could tell there were secret doors and small compartments for weapons and such.

I looked around the house, and it didn't feel like a home. It felt fake, which it was, but there was something more that I couldn't figure out. Something was wrong.

Natalia told me where my room was going to be, and I went to it. The room was relatively small, but I didn't mind. I've had worse rooms in my life. I heard something outside and looked out my window to see what it was. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to see what it was because something was shot into my room.

I was knocked down but quickly got back up. A large canister exploded and blinded me with light. During the time I couldn't see, I heard shots. I hoped it was Natasha shooting at whoever it was and not the other way around. I felt explosions beneath me, and I struggled to get out of my room to figure out what was happening.

Once my eyes cleared up, I went downstairs, saw a mess of bodies in the living room and Wanda. There was no Natalia. I didn't panic because that would be unhelpful in the situation. However, fear was in my mind.

"Wanda? What happened?"

She looked at me, and I noticed she was bleeding. I rushed to her, put her on the couch, and ran to the closet to find towels to stop the blood. It took a while for the bleeding to stop being so severe, but I asked Wanda questions once it was.

"What happened? Who came here?"

She looked at me with drooping eyes, and I tried to keep her awake. With my powers, I started healing Wanda's wounds.

"I don't know what happened. One moment Natasha and I were talking; the next, people were breaking into the house to take Natasha. I tried to stop them, but, as you can see, it didn't work. I called for you, but you never came."

I held Wanda close to me and mumbled promises in Russian to bring back Natalia and keep Wanda safe.

"I will never leave you alone again. I will always be there for you. Everything will be fine. Don't worry. I will keep you safe for as long as I live."

With that, Wanda fell asleep, and I held onto her for dear life. As if letting her go would cause the world to end.
