2 Inheritance

~~{Three Years Later}~~

"Jiang Cheng! Come on out!" This voice belonged to Jiang Chen, Jiang Cheng's cousin.

"What do you want Chen? I'm not in the mood for your shit today."

Right as this voice was heard, the door in front of the little courtyard was forced open.

Now that Jiang Cheng was 16, he was even better looking. His silver hair was long and straight, his golden eyes were... deeper. Even though he wasn't able to cultivate, due to constantly working out, his muscles were still quite defined, and along with his pretty-boy facial features, it's no wonder his very presence was able to make most girls blush. It is truly a shame that he lost his power, or else, he could have just about any woman he wanted!

"Hmph! I don't know what tricks you were pulling before, but now that I'm a body refining 9th level expert, I'll show you what real pain is!" Jiang Chen yelled before charging directly at Jiang Cheng.

"A body refining level expert? There's no such thing. If I hadn't been grabbed by those Elders, I would have long been an immortal! Hmph! I was only one step away from the Xiantian realm anyway, and I was only 13! You're what, 15, and only a body refining peak level mortal? Before, I could kill 50 of you with my eyes shut!" Jiang Cheng said nonchalantly.

Jiang Chen threw a punch with all his strength at Jiang Cheng, only to have his arm grabbed, and be flipped straight into the ground.

"Jeez, you're an embarrassment to the entire Jiang clan! To think that you would lose to someone with no cultivation!" A voice boomed.

The voice belonged to Jiang Dong, the elder brother of Jiang Chen. He was, quite the opposite in looks to Jiang Cheng, I was by no means good looking, or ugly, really just quite bland, his hair was short and black, and his eyes were red, gleaming with both anger and pride.

"If you're going to do it... DO IT RIGHT!" As soon as he finished saying this, he threw a thigh kick and sent Jiang Cheng flying into a wall.

Being only a normal mortal, Jiang Cheng had no hope in blocking the kick from the Spirit Sea 4th level man. After all, his very kick carried 4500Kg of strength behind it.

"If you dare bully my son like this again, there will be extreme repercussions." The voice was quiet, yet, cold and powerful. Just the sound of the voice was enough to cause the Jiang siblings to freeze.

"Y-yes patriarch! S-sorry patriarch!" The two struggled to get out before running away.

A man appeared next to Jiang Cheng. They looked quite similar, the only real difference being that his father looked older, and had some facial hair.

This man, although strong, had become weaker over the years. Now, he only had the strength of a peak level Xiantian Realm Immortal, however, some say, that he entered the Nascent Soul Realm at the young age of 25!

"Son, are y-" As he reached his hand out to comfort his son, his hand was quickly hit away.

"..." Neither of them said anything, they just both walked in opposite directions.

[I have to find a way to cultivate again! No matter what, I will stand at the pinnacle of existence! I'll show everyone, everyone who ever laughed at me, everyone who ever pitied me, anyone who ever looked at me with those disdainful eyes! Anyone who turned their back on me, I'll show them, that it doesn't matter what happens to a genius, a genius will always be a genius!]

While he was in a little fit of rage, and also still heavily injured, he began to feel a certain... urge. An urge to walk into the 'Sky Field Beast Range'. Even though this place would certainly lead to his death if he were to enter, he just couldn't resist this strange urge.

After walking a solid kilometre, Jiang Cheng was... confused. How is it that he still hadn't ran into a single Demon Beast? Oh well, why not take advantage of such a fact.

After walking another 3 kilometres, Jiang Cheng came across a cave. Surprisingly, in front of his very eyes, runes lit up all over the cave, and suddenly, it was as if he had been sucked into it!

[Oh? How could it be that someone who is 16 and hasn't even cultivated yet, is deemed worthy of my inheritance?] A voice randomly appeared in Jiang Cheng's head.

"What the... who the fuck are you? And how are you talking to me?" Jiang Cheng was very confused. He was surrounded by darkness, yet there seemed to be someone else here?

[Boy, tell me. What is your story?]

"My story...?"

"Well... honoured elder, my story is..." Jiang Cheng began telling the strange voice his story.

[Hmph! If you had come across me sooner boy, you would have been able to eliminate that entire sect! Tell you what Jiang child, do you want to take on my inheritance?]

"Y...your inheritance?" Jiang Cheng quivered.

After all, only people who had surpassed the realm of immortals were capable of leaving behind their consciousness to grant someone their inheritance!

"I-if you're willing, then I'll take on your inheritance! I'll be sure not to disappoint you Great Elder Sir! I will climb to the top and let everyone know who you are! Actually... who are you?"

[Hahaha! I like your spirit child. As for who I am. Just call me, Great Elder! However, I would like to tell you one more thing. I'm not truly dead, in fact i'm very much so alive. Who knows, if you become strong enough, maybe we shall meet in person!]

"Thank you Great Elder!" Jiang Cheng yelled ecstatically, after all, this was his chance to show everyone that we was still more than useful!

[Well then boy, prepare yourself! I'm going to heal your dantian, upgrade your talent, and impart all the knowledge you could ever need to you!]

Right as the voice dissipated, Jiang Cheng's head began to pulsate violently! Then his body began to shake. His dantian was healing, and his previously closed or blocked meridians were burst open. Quickly, the physical pain disappeared, but nothing could prepare him for what was next.

His very mind began to shake, he felt as if his brain was being repeatedly thrashed. Suddenly, knowledge about, Cultivation manuals, Martial art techniques, Puppetry, Necromancy, Alchemy, Inscriptions, Talismans, Blacksmithing, and so much more began poring into his head. Eventually, he fainted.

When he awoke, he was no longer surrounded by darkness, but appeared to be inside of the cave he came across previously.

To his surprise there many treasures around him!

[Boy! You should grab that ring over there! It's an Inter-spatial ring! Inside of it, there are 10 squared kilometres, there should already be a few items in there to help with your cultivation. Next, what kind of weapon do you use the most?]

"Well... the truth is, I never had a need to use weapons before so... what would you recommend?"

[Hm... well, it does seem that you have a high affinity with the Dao of the sword... okay! Boy, do you want to try forging a weapon for yourself? If you use the 'Immortal Forge' technique, that I taught you, you'll subconsciously make the weapon that suits you most! Now, grab that red stone, that white one, that...]

"Okay, I've gathered all of the materials, but... uh, Mr. Great Elder, I don't think I'm strong to use this technique, after all I'm just a mortal!" Jiang Cheng said grimly.

[Oh? Haven't you realised? You've already broken into the Xiantian realm! Well, you're still right though, even now without assistance, you can't do it, so just let me do it for you!]

"Wait wha..." Before Jiang Cheng could finish talking, light began to flash throughout the room.

The rocks, ores, crystals and other stuff that he had gathered previously, were currently being thrust into the middle of the light. The light became so bright that he could barely even open his eyes.

[Your weapon, is done!]

The weapon in front of him was a Jian with a long light blue blade, and a black handle, with a skull for a pommel.

[So, it was a sword in the end huh. Boy, you should be happy! This is a 7th grade spirit weapon! Even people who have reached the Martial Emperor Realm, can't necessarily get ahold of such a weapon!]

Afterwards, Jiang Cheng grabbed some more gear, being some 5th grade armour, and even a few demonic possibly life-saving items.

[Boy, I recommend that you stay in this cave for a few months, so that you can learn some of the techniques that I taught you, and cultivate a bit, after all, wouldn't you like to see the look on peoples faces when you come back and reinstate yourself and your clan as a powerhouse?]

Jiang Cheng decided to do as the Great Elder said, and stayed inside of the cave for three months. Although the Great Elder never told him what his new talent was, considering that before he had White-Gold talent, it had to at least be White grade talent right? Not only that, but he was able to practice all of the techniques he was given just by watching them in his head!
