29 The turning point.

After they introduced themselves, they were talking to each other completely ignoring me! Father asked Donne what do I do when we are training and how Agos live. Donne was happy to chat and was ready to answer any kind of questions... They sure got along nicely.....

" You can chat to your heart content, but you forgot about me!!! What should I do?!" I asked them in frustration. I was getting really bored.

Father and Donne looked apologised to me, but didn't look sorry at all! I send them a glance filled with resentment and finally got the reaction I wanted. Father picked me up trying to coax me while Donne cleared his throat and replied.

" Mirta, why did you come here?"

'Hey, if you are trying to regain some face, then it's a little too late.'

" Today I came with Dad to meet you so that he would allow me to practice magic, but I had no intentions to study now."

I turned away from him to show that I don't want to speak with him now.

" Dad," I looked up to my Father," I think we should go back. Your friends and work are still waiting"

From Father's expression I could conclude that he completely forgot about the outside world. He turned around with me in his hands and walked away from the forest. Donne was left standing dumbstruck. When Father turned around, his eyes showed something similar to confusion. I looked around as well, but everything seemed completely normal.... Well except Donne the Statue.

" Dad, what's wrong?"

My voice managed to wake my Father up and we continued to walk, well I was riding on my Father's hands.

Since then five years passed by. I'm 7 and Afald is 12. He sometimes would come by to play and on one of those meetings I told him about Donne and my magic-training. We were 5 and 10 respectively at that time. I really wanted to surprise him with my skills which I did. that's how the talk about where I trained started.

* FLASHBACK*

" Mirta! Afald came!"

Mom called me who was in the garden.

We didn't have the garden at first. Previously it was just a backyard with short grass, and poles with strings to dry clothes. Whenever I would come here, it looked really dull so I asked Donne for some medicine herbs and normal flowers. In my previous life I also made a garden and knew how to make few things from herbs. Mom didn't want me to be dirty too much and was against it, but after our first harvest of 'Feengt', something similar to chicory, she started to wholeheartedly support my hobby. Well maybe she was happy that I found something to occupy myself besides magic.

" Coming!"

I ran inside and saw Afald's handsome face. He was getting more beautiful with years. His emerald gems were outlined by jet, long eyelashes. His face was slowly turning from child's to teenager's and was getting more and more profound. His jawline became stronger and his long indigo hair were tied up in ponytail. Well his hairstyle is probably my fault... Once when we were with dolls I said that I liked how boys look with ponytails... haha.... He looks super cool though!!!

Seriously, he was just 10! I can't even imagine him when he will turn 16! In this world boys of 16 and girls of 15 years old are considered as adults. Their bodies are fully developed by then, but do not think that they turn old faster! On average people live up to 120 years and are considered as youths till the age of 35, so....

" Mirta, were you in your garden?"

I nodded,while melting into a puddle because of his sweet, angelic voice.

A gentle smile formed on his faultless face.

" You didn't have to come then. I would come to you wherever you would be."

He took my hand and led the way while I tried to calm down and return my normal colour on my tomato-face.

When we were playing hide-and-sick, I decided to show off my magic to him. This time he was hiding, so I used recently learnt spell ' Wind voice' to find him. It was in vain though. He can't feel mana, rather never learnt how to.

" You were just lucky to find me there, Mirta!"

This person before me ran out of hiding zone and climbed the tree! If it wasn't for my magic, I would never even know! Boys will always stay boys!

" You think so!? Well you are mistaken! I used magic! Remember that I couldn't fire it? Well now can use it easely!"

With those words I called out the wind and lifted both of us high into the air.

" M-Mirta! C-calm d-d-down!!"

His handsome face with tears showed a completely horrified expression.

" Are you scared of heights, magic or me?" I asked with cute smile.

" H-h-hi-ghs... you are not s-scary"

" He-he~ do you want to meet my teacher?~" I asked trying to ignore the fact that he is hugging me with all of his might/ Before he even answered, I turned in the direction of the forest and flew at my MAX speed.

When we landed, Afald was completely unresponsive to my calls. I scratched my head.

" Sorry, I guess I overdid it..."

" Mirta, what are you doing here?"

Donne came up to me in his human form. Probably, he finally took in consideration that not all of the human's ears are protected.

As soon as Afald heard Donne's voice he snapped out of his dazed state and shielded me with his body.

" Who are you?" His sweet voice was angry and shaky at the same time.

' He is afraid, yet tries to protect me.." That's it. I give up. He is too cute.

" Oh I see~ you brought your lover here~"

Now it was two of us with cherry faces. We looked at each other and let out some awkward laughs.

I cleared my throat, but my face remained flashed, " Not yet." Afald and Donne were shocked now," I just wanted to show him my excellent, but silly magic teacher"

Donne send me a glare and turned towards Afald. Yes, yes, I know you don't like it when I call you silly, but I'm a little, very little bit, enjoy our interactions and I'm sure that you do too.

" I am Donne, Ago Donne. The King of Agos and here teacher, Nice to meet you."

Donne extended his hand. When Afald heard his introduction he looked at me baffled. Oopsy.. forgot to tell him this tiny detail..

" Afald. Mirta's friend...." Even though he was still confused he managed to say his lines with almost straight face.

" SO~ Afald, do you like Mirta?~"

" Donne!!"

Okay, now I'm sorry.

" Sorry, Afald. I really shouldn't have brought you here. "

Afald was so red that I think that any more and he will faint from embarrassment.

" N-no, it's okay..."

Before he finished his words, Donne took him like a suck with potatoes and jumped away!

" Donne!!! Come back! REMOVE THE BINDING SPELL!!!!"

" Mirta, I will speak with Afald for a bit! You will stay here and try to remove the spell! You know what, I think I'll tell your lover some stories about you~"

" NOOOOO!"

* FLASHBACK END*

In the end I was there for an hour. They returned and Donne removed his hateful spell. Afald was smiling like an idiot. Sure~ he got his hands on some info that could bring me some trouble. However. we will see if he dares to try~

He tried once with Mother. Because I took the fruit that I wanted, but apparently he wanted as well, he told Mom about one time how I ran deep inside the forest and Donne had to bring the dirty me to my Dad in the fields. What Afald didn't know is that I was scolded for that like ages ago, so he only earned teasing from Mom. Hehe.

Today Dad took me to the field. Since I'm a girl and a small one at that, he only shows some techniques and leaves me alone. Today was no different, so I ran into the forest. Donne wasn't there, which was a little strange. Since that incident with me running into the woods, he is usually here by this time.

Mom told me to wait for him if something like that ever happens, but~ Mom, he is finally no here! I got better at magic, so I won't get lost....

With those thoughts I ran into the forest. If only I knew....
