23 Language.

We laughed this incident out and let it pass as a simple mistake. In reality, I wasn't all that hurt in the process and we resided to continue our lesson.

Donne asked if he should guide me again and promised to be way more careful; however, I refused his proposal. Even though it was painful, I did managed to grasp the gist of it.

In the end it was a little similar to that time, when I had to direct rampaging mana outside of my body. This time, I didn't need to move or direct mana. All I had to do is to feel it. I tried imagining magnetic field lines again and was able to get a very vague feeling. It was no good, huh.

While still trying to figure out the method, a question popped into my mind.

" Donne..." Donne was immersed in his thoughts and didn't respond. I send him a look filled with contempt. He probably sensed that I was looking at him and when he lifted his head, he was met with my stare.

" Ha-ha. Do you want to drill a hole in my head?" He asked with an apologetic smile. " What is it?"

'Finally you decided to respond!'

" Donne, a while ago, you mentioned something about 'magus language'..From your words, it seems that it is not the language everyone speaks. I wanted to know about it."

Donne shut his eyes as if focusing on something and said.

" If what I remember is correct, it is a language the is used for magic chants, naming Magical objects and is sometimes used as a secret code when counties communicate. I don'r remember much."

" So you DO need a chant when casting magic! No wonder it was so weak!"

" From what I learned, if Magi's magic-comprehension is high enough, one can cast powerful spells without chants. Well it's a rare occurrence which requires some talent, so people use chants."

I set on the groin while digesting new information.

' So magic is dependant on a chant till sertane level... If I were to learn this language, will I be able to cast spells that I created myself? Well sadly enough, I still didn't manage to feel the mana-flow...'

And that's where a brilliant idea attack me like lightning.

" Donne! Do you know that language?!"I jumped on my feet. Donne flinched, surprised by my sudden inthusiasm, letting a bitter laugh.

"Heh. Just a moment ago you were all serious and concentrated. I don't know the language perse, but I do know a few words."

His words were like a bucket of ice water, instantly cooling down the fire in my eyes. I gathered the last bits of hope and asked if he knew how to say 'I' and 'see'.

" Oh, those ones are simple. 'I' is ' De' and ' see' is 'Ubi'. Why do you ask?"

He-he-he-he. This is it! I know what to do now!

I tried to concentrate my mana in my eye and pronounced " De Ubi..... oi.... Donne! how to say 'mana'!?"

Donne, while having an amused look on his face, answered.

" Mana is 'Mana'. The word itself came from magus language. What are you trying to do?"

" You'll see! De Ubi Mana!"

The next instant everything turned white, then gradually colours regained their intensity. I looked around and found that I can see small, golden glitter everywhere. This is....

" Yes! I DID IT!!!!!"

Excited voice filled the forest, scaring poor bird-beasts away. Sorry~
