19 Having fun.

I was taken aback by this piece of news. So he was the KING?! Father said that they were fortunate that the flock of Ago-birds didn't have the King with them. Does this mean I'm in danger?

I slowly distanced myself from him and gave a small bow.

" I'm sorry for being disrespectful to Your esteemed self and would like to...." I tried to be respectful and leave this place but got cut-through the sentence.

" Don't sweat it. Also drop the formalities, I'm not going to get angry or anything," Donne said with a hint of displeasure in his tone. " In fact I was hoping that you wouldn't know much about those annoying things and just continue our conversation the way it was..." His face got clouded and looked really disappointed. 'I don't see or feel anything dangerous about him. Maybe Father just made things up?'

" Sorry. So then, hi Donne! My name is Mirta and I'm 2-years-old!" I introduced myself just like children were introducing themselves in my previous world and smiled to him with my teeth all out.

He smiled at me, as if he wasn't sad just a moment ago. Hey...

" You were pretending! I was worried for nothing!" I lashed out on him with my small body and hit him with all of my might. He showed delighted expression and we had a small battle. At some point, I was losing quite badly and you know what? Screw that promise!

I used triple-casting and casted Fireball, Water slash and Earth stone. I couldn't use Wind--based magic , since I was blocking my ears. Donne got caught off guard and since he was within my range he got hit. He didn't get hurt, but up until now, I didn't manage to land a hit on him at all, so I felt great sense of achievement. However, what followed next was extreme dizziness and I fell down.

Donne caught me before I touched the ground and burst with laughter.

" Ha-ha-ha-ha! You really are something! I knew that you can use magic, but so many spells and triple-casting! You have exceeded my every expectation! Ha-ha-ha-ha! Though, it seems this didn't do you any good!"

Donne's hearty laughter was resounding in the forest and I felt somewhat better. I was laying powerlessly on his soft, big, emerald body and one question popped into my mind.

" Donne, Dad said that Ago-birds do not attack humans, but he was wary of you, The King. Why?"

No matter how I look at Donne, he wasn't giving any kind of hostile or threatening aura.

Still laughing, Donne answered to my question.

" Actually, Agos are really weak. They can fly, chirp and use weak wind spells to defend. However, when Ago was chosen to be the king, he gains special power, can communicate with other races and is the protector of his subjects."

Suddenly, he stopped laughing and gave me happy, but serious look.

" I have decided! I'll take you as my pupil and teach you how to use magic!"

Confused by sudden shift of subject I stared at him dumbfounded, but before I said anything, he explained himself.

" You see, you have enormous talent and huge amount of mana, but lack any kind of technique. That's why, even though you only casted three spells, you collapsed. With your amount of mana, you should be able to cast around 100-120 spells of this level at the same time."

"....."

I had so much inside of me? Thinking about those news made my head spin, so I just swallowed them down and accepted as a fun fact.

" So, Donne, can we play again?"

"Sure. I'll be looking forward to it."

We chatted for a little more and I fell asleep on his soft feathers.

***************

When Mirta fell asleep, Donne looked around as if confirming that no one is watching and transformed into his human form. He was wearing simple clothes, picked up sleeping Mirta and walked out of the forest.

' I didn't know that it will be this fun. It's getting late. I should bring her back to her parents.'

He giggled as he was walking and finally saw Mirta's Father, who was looking for her.

"..rta! Mirta!"

" Excuse me. Are you her Father?"

Kelm noticed a stranger that was holding his precious, soundly asleep daughter and rose his guard up.

" Yes, I am her father. Who are you?"

" Here," Donne passed sleeping Mirta to her Father, " she was sleeping in the middle of the field"

Kelm inspected his daughter and didn't find anything strange. He wanted to ask the person for his name, but when he lifted his head, he saw nothing but field, his friends and a flock of Ago-birds in the sky.
