7 Chapter 6: Arrows and Blood

"Kid, I've asked you this last ceremony and I'll ask again, what are you offering this one. You only have 2 cycles left till both moons align, I do not wish to see you in that state of agony again." Marsen seemed concerned with Kid

Without saying anything Kid continued walking in the fields, Marsen has only know Kid for about 3 sun rotations around the world and knows little to nothing about him likewise for Kid. Marsen hailed from a prestigious noble family that was close to the High King of Archlion, his family was slaughtered by the guards corp under the king's command, for this reason Marsen believes it to be a set up against his family, they let him live for unknown reasons and was given a home by The Old Man.

Changing the topic Kid points at the Elvenian second home forest of Shylian. "Cloverleaf grows just on the out skirts. it's not uncommon to find it but don't wonder too close to their forest." Kid seeming on edge watching his surroundings and the branches of the forest for any movements.

After 15 minutes of collecting the resins they had 16 in total, looking for the last 4 Marsens spots a group of them a foots distance inside the forest, "Hey kid! I see some right there!" Marsen foolishly ignoring Kids prior warning takes a step inside the forest to collect them, Before Marsen can even collect them he feels a warm wetness on the back of his neck.

"You imbecile I told you this was their Homeland we can not enter uninvited." Kid was standing over Marsen with an arrow sticking through his right hand pierced right through it. With his left hand he grabs Marsens collar and throws him out the barrier around the forest, with almost instinctual like reflexes he takes cover behind a tree blocking 4 arrows.

"4 huh, well hopefully they aren't too new to this." Kid said in what seemed like a daunting tone

Kid has been in many bad situations before, but this was Marsens first time being close to almost dying. Shaking at what just happened he wipes the back of his neck and sees bright red on his hand, it's Kids blood from when he blocked that arrow that could have been in his own neck.

"Listen up, I'll say this only once, I will leave the forest now, forgive my friends unsightly decision of entering your forest and I'll forgive you for the wound to my hand, refuse and I promise, you won't be the same after fighting me ever again." Kid was taunting the rangers but also bargaing a deal with them.

"You wonder into our forest and think it's okay to threaten us with that, you humans and your self-righteous egotistical ideals *Spits* how about we finish what we started with the scared one over there, he looks like he might soil himself any second."

One of the rangers spewed his venomous words at Marsen while the other 3 laughed, Marsen almost shaken to the core yells "Kid, get out of there you can't face them alone!"

One of the rangers stops laughing and in almost a shocked voice "Kid as in The Old Man's Student?!"

Kid now knew he had the advantage here "I figured you would soon find out so about my deal, I ain't much for wanting to get blood every where." Kid also knowing that being out matched his odds of winning without getting hurt were low but not impossible.

The 4 rangers converse amongst themselves till they started fighting with each other.

"You're telling me to let him go!??!!" said one

"You're still in training don't let your pride be your death!" said another

"I agree with the pack leader, it's best to walk away all 4 of us " said a third

"I'm siding with the captain our parents told us of The Old Man and what he could do, imagine what his student could be capable of, whom is younger and more in his prime." Said the final one

The youngest one aka the hotshot ranger was just wanting a taste of blood, he wanted his first kill on his bow and so he shouted "To Drakenfall with you all!" He aimed his bow not at Kid but at Marsen, Kid using Scouts Eye to see where he shouted from, with inhuman speed he rushes at the tree and jumps in front of the bow and ranger, with the arrow still pierced through kids hand he jabs it into the young rangers left eye.

Not even able to react fast enough the young ranger yells out in immense pain and is kicked by Kid with superior strength into another tree passing him out. The other 3 rangers do not retaliate instead they collect the unconscious ranger and leave with a warning "Thank you for not killing this fool but don't think our Lord won't bear grudge against you, it's best you report this to you Master as well dog."

Kid let's out a breath and jumps down from the tree and exits the forest barrier, Kid has been in situations facing near death but even then he still shakes at the sight of hurting others, he breaks the arrow in half and pulls it out to clean the wound.

Marsen still in shock of almost dying is brought back to life by Kid hitting him hard in the head "I told you DO NOT ENTER THE FOREST! *Exhaling out* well at least we survived and I managed to snag the last 4 cloverleafs." Kid shows Marsen the collection bag and helps him up

They make their way back to the kingdom walls with the request completed.
