Flowers

At exactly 2pm, Ray walked into Vienna's office. Blake was teaching Vienna a few things and she was happy that he atleast considered it but he still wore that stoned face, no hint of warmth on it. Even as he spoke he didn't give her a chance to ask questions. Though, it was like he knew her every thought and he answered her questions without even being asked.

Ray was still grinning widely as he waited for Blake to be done with Vienna.

"Hey man" Blake glanced at Ray. "Just give me five minutes and we can go for lunch."

"Actually Vienna and I are having lunch together."

Blake looked from Ray to Vee and she just stared back at Ray. So this guy was actually serious. She smiled inwardly, it had been a while since she turned a guy down; it felt good to be back in business.

Seeing that Vienna wasn't speaking, Blake told her to work on the little he had taught her and then he went into his office.

"Ready for lunch?" Ray asked, spinning his keys on his index finger.

Vee looked at Blake. He seemed focus on whatever he was doing on his computer but she knew he could hear every conversation. Now she felt bad turning down her boss' friend. She wondered if he was those kind of bosses that automatically hated you if you don't accept to go out with them or someone close to them. Nevertheless she knew she had to do it.

"I can't go out for lunch with you" Vee said slowly and politely. The slowest blows were always the hardest to digest.

Ray was quiet for a while. "W-why?"

Damn! This guy was stammering. And for what? Were the words that hard to take in?

'You're evil Vienna' her inner goddess smirked. She was sitting on her throne like the badass she was.

"Well for starters, we just met; like few hours ago. And you can't just tell someone to go out with you without asking if she actually wants to."

"Okay" Ray said slowly and then that grin was back on his face. "Do you want to go out for lunch with me"

Vee gaped slightly. How was she going to put this now...

"No" she said plainly but somewhat nicely.

A cough came from Blake's office, his hand was covering his mouth. Was he laughing? Vee smiled at Ray before he sluggishly walked to Blake's office. It seemed he wasn't used to being turned down... twice.

POINT VIENNA!

After discussing for a few minutes, Blake came out with Ray. "We're going out for lunch. Finish up and don't leave here till it's four" Blake ordered.

Vienna almost rolled her eyes at him but she just gave a tight smile and a small wave to Ray before they left.

.

It was 4pm when a knock came on the door. 'Must be Leon', Vienna thought.

"Come in" she said and started packing her stuff. She didn't even know how the time had passed. Editing manuscripts was not so easy as she thought.

The door opened and a figure came in. Even though Vee had only seen him once, she would never forget that face.

"Theo?"

He smiled at her. "I thought you wouldn't remember me"

"I have good memory" she smiled back and stood up to give him a side hug but he wrapped his arms around her in a bear hug.

The hug was longer than expected and Vienna was getting uncomfortable. She tried to free herself but he held her tighter.

"Theo let go"

"Oh so you do want to recreate the night at the club? No one will interrupt us now"

Vee's eyes widened in horror. So many questions were running through her head. Does that mean he was very conscious of his actions? Did Leon know that? What of Camy? She finally pushed him with all the strength she could muster.

"What the hell are you saying?" She asked, arranging her hair and clothes.

"Chill baby girl. It's just a bit of fun" Theo said smiling. He made to put his arm around her waist but in the next second Vee's hand was on his face and her palm stung from the hardness of the slap.

"Get over yourself." She glared at him.

If Theo was conscious of what happened at the bathroom that night, he should know better than to expect it happening again. Vee wasn't going to act like some helpless damsel in distress.

"Get out" she said angrily.

"I have business with your boss" Theo smirked.

"He's not here. Get out" she glared at him.

"Then why don't you entertain me till he comes?" he smirked again.

Vienna looked at him in disgust. She was about to lash out on him but the door opened and Leon entered.

Leon's jaw clenched on seeing Theo. His gaze was threatening and kept Theo rooted to a spot.

Theo didn't know whether to move, seeing Leon, or to stay put. He knew that night, if Vienna hadn't passed out on the bathroom floor, Leon would have given him a beating of his life.

"Let's go Anna" Leon said, not tearing his gaze off Theo.

Only after Vienna walk out did Leon leave, slamming the door as he followed her.

The ride home was awfully silent. The only thing that could be heard was the sound of the engine as it roared pass the streets.

"Are you mad at me?" Leon asked. He was already mad at Theo for as much as being in the same room as Vienna but why then was she not speaking to him.

Vienna turned to access his face and then turned back to the road.

"Seriously now?"

Vienna thought of what to say. She wasn't mad at him, she just chose to stay quiet and think of how to tell Camy about her cheating boyfriend. It would be hard, considering how Camy was with Theo. But now that Leon mentioned her being mad, she decided to think of something to be mad at. Maybe with that, she could earn extra attention from him. She smirked at herself. She thought if she could say she was mad at him revealing that they weren't dating to Riley and Easton. But it wasn't his fault as she was the one who pushed him to pretending in the first place. Or maybe she could say she was mad because he accepted Riley's number and even went as far as flirting with her. But knowing this guy, he would make fun of her and probably call her jealous.

Was she jealous though? Different thoughts ran through her head but she couldn't think of a suitable one that would make Leon feel really bad. All her thoughts were petty and she knew this cold-faced emotionless man next to her would laugh if she put that as her reason for being mad.

"I'm sorry" Leon said before Vee could think of any other thing to say.

"Sorry?" She asked confused but Leon read it as she was mocking him.

"Okay sorry is an understatement. I shouldn't have done it, I'll do anything you ask of me tonight."

Vienna blinked. What was he saying again? Can he not just beat around the bush and explain what he's sorry for.

When Leon noticed that Vienna was still staring at him, he sighed. "Do I really have to spell it out Anna?"

She nodded slowly because she wasn't even sure of what he was talking about. Was it about the date?

Leon sighed again and mumbled but not so quietly that Vienna wouldn't hear. "I'm sorry for walking in while you were getting dressed."

Vienna's eyes rounded in surprise. She didn't know whether to laugh or to just feign anger. She didn't really consider Leon walking in on her getting dressed as something to be mad at.

'Maybe it's because you liked as he saw you that way' her naughty subconscious chipped in. It was hovering like an annoying bee in her head that Vee wanted to slap away.

But Vee didn't see it that way. As long as she was wearing a shirt that covered her bum,– barely but nevertheless– it wasn't that big of a deal.

"That's not why I'm mad" Vee laughed. "You barely even saw anything"

Leon's eyes glimmered at her words as he looked at her all over. It was that look he gave her the night of her graduation. Like he could see her, in and out.

"What?"

"I hate to admit but I did see everything. And you've got some really nice curves Anna" he leaned to her slightly, whispering the last sentence.

Vee was very sure that her face would have been redder than a tomato by now. And sadly it wasn't too dark out so Leon could clearly see her expression.

Vee kept shut and didn't say anything while Leon realized himself. "Sorry that was very rude" he thought to himself that that was a very disgusting thing to say to a lady. He wasn't used to being disgusting and he frowned at himself.

"Well while you're here fantasizing". Vee teased. "I'll tell you why I'm really upset."

Leon looked at her questioningly. Vee settled with the most suitable option in her head; the date with Easton and Riley.

"I didn't want to kiss you" Leon shrugged.

"You were just openly fantasizing about my ass right now"

"Please Anna, don't make me feel more embarrassed right now"

"Are you gay Leon?" Vee suddenly asked and Leon couldn't help bursting into laughter. That wonderful hearty laughter that reminded Vee of their childhood together. She reminisced the times she had heard him laugh like that– eyes slightly closed, dimples prominent and his white teeth shinning brightly– and she concluded she still felt the same when he laughed that way- chills; running slowly down her spine to her core.

.

They got home after having dinner together. Leon had answered Vienna's question in the negative but she wanted to hear his laugh again so she kept pressing. But sadly Leon behaved like he didn't want to ever laugh like that again. And to prove to Vee that his answer was still negative, he had flirted with their female waiter. Even running his fingers on her hand when she kept them on the table. The girl was totally smitten by him that she gave out her number, earning Vee a smirk from Leon, as if he was saying 'See, I'm not gay'.

Vee opened the door to meet Easton standing in the middle of the living room with a bouquet, her parents standing at the dining and looking angrily at him.

"Vienna" Easton breathed out.

Leon entered and shut the door, seeing Easton, he froze.

"What is this?" Vienna asked. She looked at her parents before facing Easton.

"I'm sorry Vee. Riley... I don't want her. Please take me back."

Vee scoffed. "Why? What happened to the power couple?"

"You and I were always the power couple Vee." Easton wanted Vienna back but he couldn't hurt his ego by telling that Riley had dumped him. His ego was already hurt seeing how Vienna was talking to him.

"I'll be in my room mum" Vee said. She looked at Easton for a while before she walked up the stairs.

Mr and Mrs Devel sighed in relief. "You can go now young man" Sasha said, obviously happy and then she and her husband left.

Easton was left standing with his flowers when Leon walked to him.

"Give her sometime. I'll talk to her" Leon said.

Easton muttered a thank you and left.
